A Journey That Changed The World.

Chapter 1497: Protect It Until I Return

Archer stood on the battle-scarred plain, his eyes tracking the Tigressʼs Ashoka, retreating toward the fortress for safety as being around this being was too dangerous, the wounded Inara cradled protectively in her mouth.

Without hesitation, he sent a message to Agrippina. ʼAri, Inaraʼs hurt badly. Come heal her if you can please.ʼ

In a shimmer of mana, the beautiful Elemental materialized at his side. Her violet eyes flicked toward the looming threat. Before he could speak, Agrippinaʼs hand lashed out, delivering a resounding slap to the creature.

The force of her blow sent the monstrosity hurtling backward, careening through the air like a comet dislodged from its orbit as it crashed into the ground with a sickening thud, causing it to go dizzy.

He couldnʼt suppress letting out a laugh, the absurdity of the moment cutting through the tension. ʼʼNice touch,ʼʼ he quipped, his grin wide but fleeting as the older womanʼs gaze met his.

ʼʼIʼll tend to Inara,ʼʼ she declared. ʼʼBut Iʼm coming back to help you deal kill this abomination. Donʼt do anything reckless until I return.ʼʼ

Archer gave her a charming smile, making the Elemental woman blush. ʼʼReckless? Me? Never, my love,ʼʼ he replied confidently. ʼʼGo save our lioness and rush back to me.ʼʼ

Agrippinaʼs eyes softened for a fleeting moment as she vanished in another burst of elemental light, racing toward the fortress to fulfill her promise. He turned his attention back to the Pseudo God, now rising from the crater her strike had left.

Moments later, he surged forward, his fist arcing through the air toward the undead. The creature, its features twisted into a mockery of life, reacted using unnatural speed, seizing his fist in a grip like iron.

For a fleeting second, shock rippled through him, his attack halted mid-strike, the creatureʼs decayed lips curling into a triumphant grin as if it had already claimed victory. But Archer was no stranger to defiance.

There was a feral glint in his eyes as he drove his forehead forward, smashing it into the Pseudo Godʼs face, and a bone-jarring crack rang out. The impact reverberated across the battlefield, a resounding boom that seemed to shake the very air.

The creature staggered, its momentary triumph shattered, confusion flickering in its hollow gaze. He didnʼt let the creature get its shit together and channeled his fury, he unleashed a barrage, his head crashing repeatedly into enemy.

Each brutal headbutt sent shockwaves through the creatureʼs frame, its grip weakening with every blow. Finally, its hold faltered, allowing him to break free, stepping back to draw a deep breath.

His chest heaved as his violet eyes burned brighter than ever. Archer let out a primal roar. He unleashed a torrent of dragonfire that erupted from his lips, a blazing cascade of fire engulfed the Pseudo God.

Flames seared the creatureʼs decayed flesh and illuminating the battlefield in a fierce violet glow. The undead abomination writhed, its guttural snarls drowned out by the crackling inferno.

Just then, Agrippina appeared beside the enemy and landed a powerful punch that sent the Pseudo God slamming into the ground, creating a massive crater. The Elemental woman didnʼt stop and pummeled the attacker until its aura exploded.

She flew back, forcing him to grab the older woman. He shielded them using his wings as the undead cast a horrible mana-eating spell, but thanks to his Anti-Magic blocked the attack, though it still hurt.

ʼFuck!ʼ he thought, gritting his teeth as the evil mana ate away at his scale.

Archer turned to the white-haired beauty and spoke while biting his cheek thanks to pain. ʼʼGet back to the fortress. Protect it until I return, Ari.ʼʼ

Agrippinaʼs reluctant nod was the last thing he saw as she vanished. Once the Elemental woman was gone, he allowed himself a brief moment to exhale, his muscles uncoiling as he prepared for his next move.

With a flicker of thought, he cast Blink, his body dissolving into a shimmer of mana. In an instant, he reappeared high above the undead Pseudo God, his predatory instincts honed to a razorʼs edge over the enemyʼs head.

The creature barely had time to register his presence before Archer struck. He slashed downward in a blur. The Pseudo Godʼs decayed flesh parted, and a spray of dark, viscous blood erupted, splattering the scorched earth below in a macabre rain.

Seconds later, the undead unleashed a bone-chilling howl, sharp as splintered glass, but Archerʼs rage drowned it out. With a fierce whip of his tail, he cleaved the air. It connected, a sickening crunch rang out, tearing one of the Pseudo Godʼs arms clean off.

The severed limb thudded to the ground, still twitching, as the creature staggered, its grotesque form reeling from the onslaught. He didnʼt pause. Drawing another deep breath, his chest expanded, and he unleashed a second torrent of dragonfire.

An inferno roared forth, a blinding cascade of molten flame that engulfed the Pseudo God in a maelstrom of heat and light. The undead creature screamed, its decayed flesh charring and peeling away as the dragonfire consumed it.

The battlefield glowed thanks to the ferocity of his assault, the air thick with the acrid scent of burning rot. He hovered above, his eyes blazing, ready to press the attack until nothing remained of the abomination but cinders and ruin.

Following that, he launched more strikes using magic and his claws, making the undead falter under his new attacks. The creature, bathed in the fury of his dragonfire, staggered, its decayed flesh peeling away in blackened strips.

Its roars, once thunderous, dwindled to pathetic gurgles as he hovered above, his wings cutting through the smoke-laden air. Seizing the moment, he dove, his claws slashing through the creatureʼs chest.

Blood sprayed, staining the scorched earth and his scales. The Pseudo Godʼs hollow eyes flickered defiantly, but Archer was merciless. His tail lashed out, coiling around the creatureʼs torso and piercing its core.

Archer let out a primal roar as he tore the abomination in half, its remains collapsing in a twitching heap. Determined to leave no trace of the unholy beast, he summoned a final surge of fire. The inferno erupted.

A towering pillar of flame that consumed the creature entirely, leaving only a smoldering crater in its wake. The land fell silent, the air thick with the scent of ash and victory. Archer landed, his breath steadying as he surveyed the devastation.

His white scales gleamed with blood and sweat, but his spirit was unbroken. Activating the Dragon Tattoo, he spoke. ʼAri, itʼs done. The bastardʼs ash. Howʼs Inara?ʼ

ʼSheʼs safe, my love, but hurry back!ʼ the Elemental replied, her voice cutting through the chaos. ʼThe undead horde is storming the fortress, theyʼre already scaling the walls!ʼ

Archerʼs heart pounded as he whirled around, his eyes locking onto the grim scene unfolding below. A writhing sea of undead clawed their way up the fortressʼs towering stone walls, their guttural moans rising like a dark tide.

Without hesitation, he surged forward, his boots pounding against the ground as he reached the edge. The sheer number of zombies sent a chill down his spine, but resolve hardened his gaze.

Raising his hands, Archer began channeling raw mana, the air around him crackling. Moments later, he unleashed a barrage of Mana Blasts, each one a searing orb of violet light that streaked into the horde below.

The blasts detonated on impact, erupting in brilliant explosions that tore through the undead ranks. Limbs flew, and decayed bodies disintegrated under the relentless assault, the concussive force shaking the very walls.

Everybody nearby froze, their faces etched with shock as they witnessed this. Zombie after zombie fell, the tide broken by his sudden onslaught, leaving the defenders a fleeting moment to regroup amidst the smoldering carnage.

The undead staggered by his Mana Blasts, Archer seized the advantage. His eyes blazed as he leaped onto a higher vantage point atop the fortress wall, the wind whipping at his cloak and hair.

Below, the Draconian legions rallied, their spears and swords gleaming under the flickering torchlight, bolstered by the respite his onslaught had granted them. He raised his arms, mana surging through his veins like liquid fire.

He began weaving a spell of annihilation. The air around him shimmered as a massive circle materialized above the battlefield. Archer watched as the enemy resumed their relentless climb, their decayed hands scraping against the stone.

Following that, he unleashed the spell. A torrent of mana rained down, each bolt a lance of searing light that pierced through the horde. ʼThis place is going to become a damn nightmare if there is anymore undead Pseudo Gods,ʼ he mused.

Just then, the undead shrieked as the magic incinerated them, reducing entire swathes to ash. The explosions cascaded across the battlefield, a symphony of destruction that shook the earth and sent plumes of smoke curling into the night sky.

As the last zombie fell, a heavy silence descended, broken only by the crackle of smoldering remains. The Draconian legions, their armor covered thanks to the blood, raised their weapons in a deafening cheer.
