Chapter 820: Chapter 306 Ceremony (Two-in-One Chapter)

“Make sure to notify them to evacuate immediately.”

“Jennifer, you and Evelyn should head over to the Sword Bearers Branch right away. Who knows when Admiral Edward and the others might suddenly return?”

“If the situation turns unfavorable, it will be too late to retreat.”

“Hmm, be careful.” The beautiful woman nodded. Though her eyes were still filled with worry, she didn’t say much more.

“Captain, be careful.” Angus and several others nearby said one after another.

They were well aware that battles at the Legendary Level were not something they could get involved in.

In the current situation, perhaps the only relatively safe places in the entire city are the Sword Bearers Branch and the Goddess Church.

At this moment, as Neoro finished casting, a faint white light appeared on Rein’s body.

Rein felt his whole body lighten; the effect of the Floating Technique was quite wonderful.

Before leaving, Rein casually took down several decorative steel shields hanging on the wall of the hall.

In Rein’s hands, the shields quickly transformed into steel spears. As he reached the cliff side of the hall, he leapt off, floating toward the giant evil spirit like a light leaf under the influence of the Floating Technique.

Seeing this, Neoro sighed and turned to Angus, “Angus, do you think the Captain’s strength has already reached the Quasi-Legendary Level?”

Angus nodded, “Hmm, if I didn’t see it wrong, when the Captain performed his secret technique, the faint glow on the hammer wasn’t just Original Force, but also included the brilliance of Will.”

“From this perspective, we can say that the Captain’s strength is indeed at the Quasi-Legendary Level.”

Neoro nodded, “Looks like we need to work harder! Otherwise, the gap will only grow larger!”

“It’s tough!” Angus couldn’t help but feel a toothache when he thought about Rein’s fast combat skill comprehension and improvement.

Having a Captain like this is both good and bad.

Most dangerous combat tasks could be handled by one person, but this means they don’t gain much growth, and over time, the gap will only widen.

It’s not that they aren’t trying, but they just can’t keep up with that rate of strength improvement!

He couldn’t help but recall two months ago, during the Sword Bearers assessment, he felt the gap between himself and Rein was there, but not huge.

But now, the gap between them is not just a little bit.

“Let’s hurry back to the Sword Bearers Branch first.”

“Hmm.”

No one went with Rein because the remaining four of them formed a complete combat squad.

Defender Angus, control and witchcraft attacker Neoro, melee attacker Viery, and melee and witchcraft attacker Evelyn, while also protecting the beautiful woman Jennifer.

The group of five swiftly moved through the panicked crowd, quickly heading toward the Sword Bearers Branch.

…

In mid-air.

Rein was getting closer to the location of the giant evil spirit.

At this moment, Rein could see clearly that the black-robed person beside the giant evil spirit was actually the old acquaintance Freeman.

He was shrouded in black flame vines, smiling as he occasionally released evil magic, disrupting the attack rhythm of Punishment Knight Brandel and the Duke’s advisor.

Similar to a battlefield troublemaker, yet making their side very passive in battle.

Speaking of Freeman over there.

The task he received was to attract the attention of the Empire and the Goddess Church in the early stages.

Freeman naturally understood why Exeter moved him away.

But, firstly, his strength was inferior, and secondly, the other party was his superior, so Freeman had no choice but to follow orders.

Fortunately, at least he was given the ‘Gaze of the Eye,’ this already fully charged evil object.

One must admit, the power of the ‘Gaze of the Eye’ is indeed very strong.

No wonder, when Bergis handed it to him, his expression was like Freeman had stolen his wife.

Before launching the attack, Freeman already had his own plans.

Firstly, he placed the attack location in the trading district, which was the most crowded and complicated, rather than the slightly distant civilian area Exeter suggested.

The effect was quite good.

After the giant evil spirit slaughtered a considerable number of people, it absorbed more souls, growing larger in size, and its power rose accordingly.

Even in the face of the siege by two Quasi-Legendary individuals, it still held its ground.

This inevitably made Freeman’s mind start to become active.

He, of course, knew the main goal of this ritual was for Great Priest Exeter’s ascension to the Epic level.

If this plan succeeds, Exeter would naturally rise to a higher level. But the key is, if he can participate in the prayer ritual alongside, he could also receive some blessings from the Great Hunting God.

Yet according to the original plan, he was the decoy.

As for participating in the prayer ritual and praying for blessings, he wasn’t included at all.

In the plan, when he saw five pillars of light, he could retreat.

But, well, Freeman thought about it and figured he might still have a shot at participating in the prayer ritual.

If he could control the evil spirit and pave the way smoothly, then even Exeter couldn’t say anything.

By then, Exeter would eat the meat, and he could at least sip some soup.

Huh?

Suddenly, Freeman focused his gaze on the giant evil spirit beside him.
