Chapter 813: Chapter 304 Opening (Two-in-One Chapter)_2

The two of them didn’t have to wait long in the temple’s reception hall. Within a few minutes, a red-bearded elder, about 1.5 meters tall, frowned and briskly walked in, mumbling something.

“Young man, it was you who defeated the Giant Axe Demon Statue Guard. Impressive strength!” Without waiting for Olena’s introduction, the elder greeted Rein proactively, his voice booming like a bell.

“Thank you for the compliment, Master Mogaro.” Rein slightly bowed in response.

Meeting for the first time, Rein was quite curious about Mogaro’s height and appearance, which was noticeably different from that of ordinary humans.

“Oh, why didn’t you bring your warhammer? From the wound on the Giant Axe Demon Statue Guard, it seems to be caused by some advanced hammer skill secret technique.”

Immediately, before Rein could speak, Mogaro gestured with a wave, indicating Rein not to explain, and continued:

“No need to bring it then. By the way, I heard you wanted to talk to me? I’m currently busy dismantling the demon statue, so I can only spare you ten minutes at most.”

Uh…

Rein couldn’t help but glance at Olena.

Indeed, a quirky character. No wonder Olena gave me a heads-up.

Given the circumstances, Rein decided to be straightforward, saying:

“Master, I wish to study at your school for a while. I heard you are a Metal Series Puppet Master. Could I choose you as my mentor?”

“Sorry, I have no plans to take on any disciples,” Mogaro replied.

“Furthermore, those of you from the Sword Bearers can only stay within the school for a few months or half a year, barely enough to learn anything complex.” Mogaro shook his head like a rattle drum.

“Of course, this is just my personal opinion; you might ask other masters.”

Hearing this response made Rein’s heart sink, considering that Mogaro was the only Metal Series Puppet Master among the three masters present.

After some thought, Rein said again, “Master, I am also a Metal Series Wizard, so…”

“Hmm?”

“You are also a Metal Series Wizard? Aren’t you a Great Knight?” Mogaro, with halfling lineage, looked at Rein in surprise and retorted.

Clearly, he was starting to take an interest in Rein.

Rein did not answer directly but instead smiled slightly, rapidly transforming the hardened essence gold on his arm guards, and cast the first-level Metal Magic ‘Metal Barrier’.

The next second, three hardened fine gold kite shields appeared on Rein’s body, slowly revolving around…

Mogaro suddenly stiffened, his eyes widened, mouth agape, showing shock and amazement!

A few seconds later, he pointed at Rein, trembling, “You… your Metal Morphing Spell, how can it be this quick!”

“Metal Barrier being your innate wizardry, casting it quickly, is understandable. But how is your Metal Morphing Spell cast this fast!” Mogaro, visibly horrified, repeated.

As a fellow Metal Series Wizard, Mogaro clearly understood. Moments ago, Rein had no shield in hand, but in just one second, the metal transformed into three kite shields.

If this isn’t Metal Morphing Spell, then what is!

He was very familiar with Metal Morphing Spell.

Or more accurately, Metal Morphing Spell is widely applied in puppetry technique, making it one of the most commonly used spells by specialized Metal Series Puppet-making wizards.

But this spell is easy to learn, hard to master. Many Metal Series wizards in the school have used this spell for twenty to thirty years, and it takes almost a second to morph into a steel shield.

But what did he just see!

This young man right here actually transformed into three kite shields simultaneously, and he didn’t even use regular steel; this stuff is hardened essence gold!

It’s known that transforming the same weight of hardened essence gold is far more challenging than regular steel.

“Master, I have practiced this spell intensely recently.” Rein laughed, explaining.

Earlier, Rein subtly disguised the casting time of the innate wizardry ‘Metal Morphing Spell’.

And for ‘Metal Barrier’, the casting time wasn’t intentionally delayed, still around 0.25 seconds, but when casting the innate wizardry ‘Metal Morphing Spell’, it was slowed slightly, taking about a second.

After all, an almost instant cast Metal Morphing Spell would be quickly detected by Mogaro, who is also of the Metal Series.

Having Metal Morphing Spell as innate wizardry would be too shocking.

If people mistakenly believed ‘Metal Barrier’ was his innate wizardry, then it would seem much more normal.

As for why Rein chose to display his mastery over these two Metal Series magics, it was naturally due to the master’s earlier statement.

He believed that if he could showcase a strength that the master recognized, the situation might have a turnaround.

However…

Rein hadn’t expected that the display of these two magics seemed to have overly shocked the master Mogaro before him.

“Intense practice? What kind of intense practice could enhance the casting speed of Metal Morphing Spell to this degree?” Mogaro looked at Rein with the kind of expression that said ‘are you trying to fool a child?’

“Since I began mastering Metal Morphing Spell, it’s been forty years, yet I still can’t match your speed.”

As he said this, there was both shock and envy in Mogaro’s eyes, along with a hint of sadness.

Hmm?

Rein felt a bit puzzled in his heart.
