Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Inexplicably burdened with high expectations, Yang Yu showed a helpless wry smile.

He didn’t have any particularly noble intentions in doing these things. Saving the world was just a side agenda.

After talking to Lingshan, Yang Yu returned to where he was before, with Bai Jin standing beside him.

Yang Yu sat down utterly relaxed, stretching his limbs, leaning against the railing of the warship, squinting his eyes, quietly waiting for the warship to dock.

Bai Jin used her magic wand to support her body, slowly sitting next to Yang Yu, each of her movements careful, afraid of disturbing Yang Yu.

Everything Yang Yu did, Bai Jin silently observed.

Though it felt somewhat distant, there was no helping it. At least until everything was over, Yang Yu would continue to keep his nerves taut and do his utmost.

Bai Jin didn’t know how much Yang Yu had prepared for the assault on the Count Blood, how many backup plans he had made, or how far into his strategies he had thought.

But she could understand the hardships Yang Yu faced and knew that there would be more enemies even stronger than Count Blood in the future.

Seeing the coast, Yang Yu felt that everything had temporarily come to a pause, allowing him to relax slightly as he was doing now.

The only thing Bai Jin could do now was to sit beside Yang Yu like this.

But... but...

There was still a trace of complaint in Bai Jin’s heart. Stemming from a feeling that, though she didn’t quite know how to express it, was akin to that of a ”girlfriend,” she hoped Yang Yu wouldn’t push himself too hard, would look at her more, and realize that gradually she could do more, becoming more confident than before and more of a person one could depend on.

Constructing magic in her mind, Bai Jin was about to release it and engage in telepathy with Yang Yu but canceled the magic purposefully.

Confirming that no one else was around, Bai Jin lightly leaned toward Yang Yu’s ear and whispered:

”You’ve worked hard.

Rely on me more, it’s okay.

You can depend on me anytime.”

As she finished speaking, Yang Yu’s head moved slightly, and Bai Jin’s face flushed as red as a ripe tomato as she quickly turned away.

Unexpectedly, Yang Yu’s head leaned directly onto her shoulder.

Bai Jin’s heart pounded intensely, and her ears felt as if they were engulfed in flames. Bai Jin repeatedly reassured herself, internally telling herself that she and Yang Yu had reached that stage and shouldn’t be so shy, that such situations were quite common among lovers, and that she shouldn’t be so flustered.

But... but Bai Jin’s internal agitation wouldn’t subside.

Honestly, didn’t you say we should keep our relationship a secret from others? Leaning over at a time like this, what if someone suddenly came by and saw us?

I did say you could depend on me anytime, but...

A mess of thoughts tangled in Bai Jin’s mind. Just then, she heard Yang Yu snoring.

Bai Jin’s chaotic thoughts instantly vanished, leaving only tenderness in her eyes,

”You really are hopeless. Rest well.”

Gently shifting her body, Bai Jin stopped caring about others’ gazes, placing Yang Yu down, laying him on her thighs as a pillow.

Slightly lowering her head, Bai Jin watched Yang Yu’s sleeping face, gently placing her hand on his cheek, feeling his warmth, a doting smile involuntarily appeared on her lips.

When Yang Yu woke up, it was already dusk.

The warship and the boat they made had long since docked, with the sunset reflecting on the sea, waves rolling into the harbor.

Yang Yu yawned, stretched, and sat up from the deck.

Seeing the sunset dip below the sea horizon, turning the clouds at the horizon into a fiery red, Yang Yu opened the system, took out his watch to check the time.

”Ah this...”

He originally intended just to take a nap before the ship docked, but accidentally slept for seven hours.

Except for the Hall of History and the missing Goblin Emperor, Yang Yu barely managed to resolve two hurdles blocking his path. When his taut nerves relaxed, fatigue overwhelmed his heart.

Fortunately, they had reached a safe place and didn’t need to worry about sudden enemy attacks.

Standing up, Yang Yu searched for his companions but didn’t see anyone.

”What’s going on?”

Just as his brain was about to start working quickly, he saw a hotel staff member at the dock, panting and waving at him.

Flipping over the warship’s railing, using the Incredible Braking Boots, Yang Yu landed steadily in front of the hotel staff.

The hotel staff was startled but still mustered courage and said with a smiling face:

”Sir, your companions have already started dining at the tavern, please hurry over.”

Yang Yu opened the panel, this Sea-dwelling Species young lady in front of him was indeed just a hotel staff member.

But, it couldn’t be completely ruled out that she might be lying.

Iyas and them might indeed be dining, but Yang Yu thought they wouldn’t leave without leaving anyone to watch over him.

”Sir... there should be another young lady, may I ask you to go call her up?”

Yang Yu tilted his head, ”Another young lady?” He had just searched everywhere and hadn’t found a single person before he came down from the ship...

Could she be in the cabin?

Yang Yu was just about to go back along the ship’s body to search when he saw Bai Jin hastily flying down from the ship.

Yang Yu was a bit surprised, he hadn’t seen Bai Jin just now, how did she suddenly appear?

”Bai Jin, have you been watching me all the time? And went back to the cabin to get something just as I was about to wake up and only came out now?”

Bai Jin was somewhat dazed, then hurriedly replied: ”Yes.”

Bai Jin couldn’t tell the truth.

She couldn’t speak of how, because Yang Yu slept too long, she ended up giving him a lap pillow and gradually attracted onlookers, nor could she say that.

From many people’s eyes, Bai Jin could read ”so they’re that kind of relationship,” but even more seemed to have expected it.

Word of Yang Yu’s and her relationship spread on its own.

Bai Jin did her best to keep others from disturbing them, using telepathy to communicate, having them keep it a secret.

Everyone who witnessed that moment agreed to keep Bai Jin’s secret.

But they couldn’t help but cast glances at Bai Jin and Yang Yu. In their view, Yang Yu and they were exceptionally great heroes, and seeing heroes have such gentle, flawed sides was quite a rarity, making them look a few more times.

Being watched repeatedly, even though she prepared herself mentally, Bai Jin couldn’t help but feel her face flush.

Thus, she used Invisibility Magic to hide herself, trying to ease her inner shyness through such a futile attempt.

Once activated, the Invisibility Magic indeed reduced the number of eyes on her.

Gradually relaxing inside, Bai Jin leaned against the railing and, with Yang Yu not waking up for a long time, actually fell asleep as well.

Bai Jin’s mind was in turmoil, knowing that others would definitely think she and Yang Yu were having their own little world.

But she didn’t even manage to properly share a world with Yang Yu, and if she knew they all left, she might have done something more intimate to fill the tiny void in her heart properly.
