Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu glanced at the panel; his blood volume was still at forty percent, fairly healthy, and the toxin effects in his body had completely faded.

Compared to himself, Yang Yu was more concerned about the others who came with him to strategize the castle, as well as the hostages held beneath the castle.

There were some powerful individuals there. The debt of saving a life is not easily repaid.

He opened the team interface to confirm each partner’s status.

Iyas seemed to be seriously injured, but since she was a healer, she could ensure her own and others’ safety through a steady stream of recovery, even if trapped under the rubble.

Lotcar, with his thick skin, and equipped with various gear from the Grude Plan, stood up from the debris before Yang Yu even went looking for him, his silver fur reflecting a unique sheen in the sunlight.

The equipment from the Grude Plan had bonuses in the Magic Beast state. Realizing escape wasn’t possible, Lotcar sought cover while transforming back into a giant wolf, opting, like Yang Yu, to physically withstand the violent explosion.

As for He Meng...

Several Enchanting Demons hovered in the high sky, watching Yang Yu and his group with vigilance, yet apprehensive, neither attacking nor fleeing.

Yang Yu and the Enchanting Demons locked eyes for two or three seconds. Suddenly, one wearing a red scarf broke from the group and flew toward Yang Yu without hesitation.

As the Enchanting Demon flew closer, Lotcar’s mane bristled, preparing to engage.

Yang Yu raised his hand, signaling Lotcar to stay calm and observe the situation first.

Before reaching them, the Enchanting Demon appeared on the verge of tears, raising her arms high towards Yang Yu and his group, surrendering:

”I’m sorry! I’m sorry! I surrender, I surrender, please don’t kill me!

I was originally also human. It was their coercion that brought me here for transformation, to become an Enchanting Demon to save my friends’ lives.

After the transformation, I inexplicably gained exceptionally high combat power.

But I am not at all good at fighting.

I was always on the island, facing only uncontrollable Magic Beasts. I swear I’ve never harmed anyone.

Ever since arriving here, I’ve been filled with regret all the time.

I miss my family dearly, they must be very sad now. Even though I’ve become like this, I still want to see them again.

I don’t know where you, esteemed one, come from, but defeating the evil Vampire means you are extraordinarily powerful.

You must have come here for the sake of justice!

If the esteemed one can fulfill my wish, I would willingly serve, even offering myself, without any complaints.”

”Oh? Is that so?”

Yang Yu slightly raised his head. The Enchanting Demon girl glanced at Yang Yu from the corner of her eye, seeing him smile wickedly.

Being able to defeat the Vampire Count, dealing with her would be a piece of cake for him. Not daring to slack off, the Enchanting Demon girl opened her hands and bowed to Yang Yu without further action,

”What I said contains not a single lie!”

The Enchanting Demon girl’s move immediately sparked discontent among some surviving Enchanting Demons, who began to prepare black magic to deal with this opportunist, who quickly switched allegiance after her master’s demise.

But before those Enchanting Demons could act, their peers, summoning their courage, preemptively attacked those preparing to launch attacks.

These Enchanting Demons held differing views on the failure; opposing Yang Yu’s group would end in death. If they could eliminate the Enchanting Demons unfavorable to Yang Yu and prove their loyalty, relying on their allure and strength, they might join Yang Yu’s side.

In just a few minutes, the Enchanting Demons, who witnessed Count Blood’s death, split into two factions, embroiled in internal conflict.

Amid the skirmish, a black magic projectile flew toward the Enchanting Demon girl who submitted to Yang Yu.

Yang Yu prepared to defend, but saw the red scarf on the Enchanting Demon girl’s neck transform into a light blue gel-like shield, easily blocking the attack.

After being used as a stepping stone by Yang Yu, He Meng reverted from his transformation, conveniently falling into the Enchanting Demon girl’s arms. Initially wanting to quickly escape, He Meng was instead embraced tightly as if a lifeline, hearing whispers, ”I just want to go home. If you can help me return, I will assist you,” unavoidably, He Meng cooperated with the Enchanting Demon girl, successfully avoiding the attention of other Enchanting Demons.

Retracting the shield, Yang Yu looked at the girl in front of him. Although they defeated Count Blood, Yang Yu and his group were clueless about the island’s situation. They needed a guide.

Yang Yu originally planned to grab a random Enchanting Demon, intimidating and persuading her to guide them.

Now with such a person appearing, it saved some trouble.

If it were a game, Yang Yu would surely exclaim how timely this Tool Man appeared!

However, Yang Yu knew that Tool Men didn’t exist in this world. The girl kneeling before him certainly had her own story.

If things were as she said and she became an Enchanting Demon for a friend, then worked under Count Blood to survive, there was no need to slaughter her due to her Enchanting Demon identity.

Enchanting Demons could combine with Humans, producing gendered offspring, indicating their closeness to Human females compared to Demons.

Reflecting on their physiological traits and various habits, one could imagine why Enchanting Demons were created in the first place.

Yang Yu couldn’t help recalling the Plant Clan, pure combat species was rare; most could produce food-like magic power byproducts.

Most Subhumans resemble animals, with only a few resembling things other than animals.

Plants and animals are greatly different.

The technology for combining with non-animals seemed immature, requiring certain conditions to avoid side effects, thus the Plant Clan had that curse-like Woodification Disease?

Despite imagining the Enchanting Demons’ tragic origin, Yang Yu wouldn’t pity the race’s tragedy; he always judged things individually.

Yang Yu could temporarily trust the Enchanting Demon girl before him, but he remained cautious. If she betrayed him, Yang Yu would strike without hesitation:

”Stand up. I’ll tentatively believe what you say.

But if you dare deceive me, bear the consequences.

First, tell me your name.”

The Enchanting Demon girl lifted her head, revealing an incredibly grateful smile, ”Thank you, esteemed one, my name is Lotena.”
