Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Yang Yu quickly maneuvered through the poison fog. Helot not only used light points to simulate and mark the actions and position of the [Count Blood] but also thoughtfully used different colored lines to outline most of the objects in the room.

To ”prove” that he couldn’t really see, Yang Yu would always bump into something during his actions, the same place he wouldn’t ”stumble” twice, highlighting his excellent memory and skill, making it appear extremely genuine.

From these minute ”details,” [Count Blood] became increasingly convinced that Yang Yu’s sword strikes hit their mark purely out of luck.

No, while Yang Yu’s luck was good, his strength was not to be underestimated. He must have judged his position in some way, narrowing down the range before striking.

Although it’s unclear how Yang Yu could sense the black orb, now was not the time to ponder this.

[Count Blood] set up a number of traps to test whether Yang Yu had any other sensory abilities.

Several times, Yang Yu stepped into his traps completely unprepared, and [Count Blood] took the opportunity to launch multiple fierce attacks, achieving considerable success.

Unfortunately, each time he failed to deliver a fatal blow to Yang Yu.

A rain composed of light drizzled down from the roof. The elf cast [Healing Rain], which not only restored Yang Yu’s life but also caused him significant harm.

Perhaps wary of the impenetrable poison fog, no one else besides Yang Yu entered this room from the hall.

To be safe, [Count Blood] used a barrier to temporarily separate this room from the outside world, focusing on dealing with Yang Yu.

After several tests, [Count Blood] became completely convinced that Yang Yu couldn’t locate his exact position in the mist, but he could sense medium or larger magic and special magic tools, using those things to estimate his general location.

A completely reliable plan formed in [Count Blood]’s mind, and without further ado, he immediately began to implement it.

Maintaining the poison fog and the barrier consumed a massive amount of magic power, and casting a series of small spells almost drained [Count Blood]’s blue bar to the bottom, but the formula for victory was already set. Yang Yu was as good as a fish in a barrel, ready to be fried in a pot.

As long as he dealt with Yang Yu, the leader of the team, the remaining others were just a ragtag bunch that could be dealt with at any time.

[Count Blood] sensed Luo Luosi’s warship ramming into his Eternal Night Barrier and felt Bai Jin beginning to meddle with his barrier. But from the magic power released by Bai Jin, it seemed to be just a second probe, so [Count Blood] didn’t focus too much attention on that side.

Even if this plan failed, [Count Blood] figured he could quickly dissolve the walls and escape, so he put his focus on Yang Yu, waiting for Yang Yu to step into his magical trap, remove the Slime suit from Yang Yu, and decide the outcome in one go.

If it weren’t for Helot’s help, Yang Yu’s view might indeed be a blank expanse, relying solely on the Blood Bar above [Count Blood]’s head to gauge his position, allowing him to escape.

But now, with [Count Blood]’s magic nearly depleted, it was time to lay the cards on the table.

Yang Yu stopped walking and stood still.

[Count Blood] was stunned for a moment.

Only a few seconds passed, but to [Count Blood], it felt like centuries had elapsed as turmoil raged in his heart, contemplating whether his plan had been exposed.

[Count Blood] noticed that Yang Yu actually sheathed his sword on the spot and took steps towards the hole in the wall, as if he planned to leave the same way he came.

”Could it be that he thinks I’ve already left here and wants to confer with his companions for a long-term plan? That’s perfect, I will first clear away that pest preparing to destroy the stage.”

Thinking this, [Count Blood] watched Yang Yu approaching the hole, feeling quite unwilling as a black magic ball appeared in his hand.

Perhaps sensing the presence of this magic, Yang Yu’s movement to leave ceased abruptly, and with lightning speed, he drew his longsword again and charged at [Count Blood].

[Count Blood]’s expression of disappointment was instantly replaced by excitement and joy. It had been a long time since he had felt such an emotion.

In [Count Blood]’s heart, he even had the thought, ”Although you’re somewhat despicable, I must acknowledge your strength. Dying by my hand is your honor.”

[Count Blood] never disliked true strong individuals; he only disliked those strong individuals who didn’t stand on his side.

As [Count Blood] expected, Yang Yu stepped defenselessly into his constructed small magic area. One small spell after another bloomed under Yang Yu’s feet.

The gap in power between small attack magic and medium magic was insurmountable. But as long as small attack magic was densely layered and coordinated enough, it could bring a quantitative change that led to qualitative change, with their combined power exceeding that of average medium magic, even rivaling large attack magic.

In [Count Blood]’s view, as long as Yang Yu stepped into his trap, he would fall into the deadlock he set. The black magic would blast away the Slime suit protecting him, leaving him completely enveloped in the fierce poison fog, poisoned, and unable to move.

But did Yang Yu truly step into [Count Blood]’s deadlock?

While small attack magic combined could indeed reach the power of medium magic, trying to use small magic to achieve medium magic’s power required more time and magic power. Otherwise, why wouldn’t everyone just learn small combined magic instead of even bothering with medium and large attack magic?

Black currents surged beneath his feet, climbing up Yang Yu’s body.

[Count Blood] could feel life and magic power continuously flowing from his fingertips into his body, the black current skittering more intensely. Amidst the vast poison fog, it became clearly visible not because [Count Blood] intentionally dispelled the fog, but because the dense black magic continuously disrupted and weakened parts of the poison fog’s magic power, making the fog considerably thinner.

Yang Yu’s body gradually became clear in the poison fog, getting closer and closer. [Count Blood] ignored the thinning poison fog; the Slime suit on Yang Yu had already begun to retract. The poison fog was thinning, but its potency remained. As long as Yang Yu was in this poison fog, death was his only path.

Intending to reward Yang Yu for his courage to confront him here, [Count Blood] decided to personally end Yang Yu’s life. He was a kind person, unable to watch others suffer.

Just as [Count Blood] was about to reach out and choke Yang Yu’s throat, he noticed something strange. The way the Slime suit retracted didn’t look like the Slime retreating due to the influence of black magic but rather withdrawing to avoid the black current.

Was the Slime afraid of black magic, or was Yang Yu actively exposing himself to the poison fog?

This thought had just flashed through [Count Blood]’s mind, when the Helot wrapped around Yang Yu shrunk into a ball, gripped tightly in Yang Yu’s palm, and was thrown backward.

The black currents became violent as [Count Blood] saw the movement of Yang Yu’s throat, and the next moment, Yang Yu vanished from before him, leaving him alone to witness the blossoming of black magic.
