Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

They’re here.

Yang Yu didn’t expect Hei Luo would arrive so quickly.

Honestly, whether he could call the giant dragon or not, Yang Yu wasn’t sure.

The probability of calling the Black Dragon was around seventy percent.

But in such a desperate situation, a method with more than fifty percent success rate was worth a try.

Having grown to this level, Lutrola Doron would probably only fear the giant dragon.

Initially, Yang Yu intended to lure Lutrola Doron to use a power exceeding the dragon’s permitted limit, forcing the dragon to intervene and indirectly kill her.

However, Lutrola Doron calmly restrained her strength with ease.

It seemed that Hero Lox not only informed Lutrola Doron about the surveillance range of the giant dragon but also told her some crucial dragon oaths, preventing her from becoming complacent after gaining power and being destroyed by the dragon.

As long as Lutrola Doron remained calm, it was unrealistic to expect the dragon to act.

Is there a way to make the dragon act without Lutrola Doron breaking the oath?

In his mind, snippets of interactions with dragons swiftly passed by, a daring idea emerged in Yang Yu’s mind.

At the dragon’s knowledge repository, Yang Yu reviewed the history of the last few hundred years of this world and saw the expansion of the Setis Kingdom.

At that time, the King leading the Setis Kingdom was a complete ordinary human with no special abilities.

To prove himself, he launched foreign wars, continuously expanding territory, nearly uniting all human countries.

Who knew his inflated ambition would lead him to the abyss, reaching where he shouldn’t have, and in the end, he was hanged in the Dragon God Evaluation Country.

After his death, for some reason, dragons began to regulate wars.

The war between the Luo Ze Empire and Wansheng Republic was the first war under the new rules.

Dragons had ruled this land for at least ten thousand years, and their approach to history had always been non-intervention.

Even during a brutal conquest war like the Goblin Emperor’s, dragons only symbolically intervened a bit because some unruly clansmen were enslaved.

Why did they formulate war rules only after the death of the Setis King?

Unfortunately.

This part of history was deliberately hidden by the dragons.

However, though hidden, one can use existing information to imagine.

Since it was the rule change triggered by the Setis King at the time, naturally, we need to look for reasons within him.

And his main characteristic was the shockingly low attributes incongruous with his followers.

As Yang Yu knew, a person’s attributes largely relate to level, training method, and growth talent.

And growth talent mainly relates to race.

Humans and Subhumans living together for long periods made the bloodline mottled and extremely chaotic, having both geniuses like Tico and commoners like him.

Special Subhumans who gather in specific areas, even if their bloodline might have been assimilated, retain some purity to some extent.

Different people of the same race and level, as long as trained the same way, wouldn’t have a huge difference in attributes.

Other races, everyone can become an excellent warrior.

Only humans, most are civilians with no fighting power.

Why does this happen?

This relates to the history of this world.

The Magic World wasn’t initially magical, and Subhumans weren’t initially Subhumans either.

Everything—all points like Racial Essence, ancient ruins, or research institute’s transformation device—indicated that now all Subhumans evolved from more ancient humans.

Subhumans are, in this world, a sub-species of humans.

Since Subhumans didn’t originally exist, nor Magic, levels, attributes, and souls are by-products of the Magic World, and magic power is like some toxin to ordinary creatures...

Then, can we infer that the lower the attributes, the less capable of using magic power, the closer to the original humans of this world?

If humans are the creators of all this, is there a method to make Subhumans obey their creators?

If Yang Yu’s speculation is correct, the person who made all kinds of agreements with the dragons back then was undoubtedly a human.

If he held pride in civilization, he couldn’t possibly use another identity to make oaths with the dragons.

Unfortunately, by absorbing too much Racial Essence to become stronger, Yang Yu could no longer be considered an ”original human.”

The reaction of that thing in the ruins of the Luo Ze Empire is the best evidence.

If he retained his initial attributes without any influence from Racial Essence, touching that thing might reveal the world’s truth from the ruins.

All in all, even if Yang Yu now knew the method to drive the dragon, he couldn’t actually control the dragon with his current physique.

Wanting the dragon to annihilate Lutrola Doron in front of him is simply impossible.

So why is the dragon here?

This is because... the dragon isn’t here to suppress Lutrola Doron but to fulfill the promise and answer Yang Yu’s question...

When Yang Yu was strategizing the Cold Ice Palace, besides obtaining the three Legendary Equipment, he asked the dragon for three questions.

From the first two questions, Yang Yu learned that dragons act based on ancient oaths, and to know the oath’s content, you must pass the dragon’s test to access the knowledge repository.

The last question, since he was going to the knowledge repository anyway, Yang Yu decided to hold onto it.

Yang Yu didn’t expect this unasked question to become the key to summoning the dragon.

To increase the probability of summoning the dragon, Yang Yu specifically named Hei Luo, who rewarded him before.

Even though dragons are mostly observers, they still care about this world; otherwise, they wouldn’t issue various tasks and use adventurers to solve some problems.

Presumably, this exploits the loophole in the oath.

High-level adventurers, to dragons, are a valuable asset; surely the dragons wouldn’t want to see Lutrola Doron devour all the high-level adventurers, but because of the oath, they couldn’t intervene directly.

What Yang Yu did just now was giving them a reason to ”intervene.”

If it is to fulfill previous promises, the dragon’s sudden descent onto this island is reasonable.

Given Yang Yu’s knowledge of dragons, even if the dragon arrives, it might not take action.

Yang Yu was prepared for the dragon not taking action, according to his plan; the dragon doesn’t need to act.

Yes, Yang Yu’s only purpose for summoning the dragon is just to exploit its power.

When facing a seemingly invincible opponent, besides running away or fighting till the end, can’t you scare her away with something she fears?

This hypothesis that a real human can make a single wish through driving a dragon is merely Yang Yu’s theory, but because it’s a theory, Yang Yu must speak confidently and convincingly.

Once the other side uses equivalent knowledge to develop equivalent theories, and then produces ”evidence” to affirm the hypothesis, the other party will believe the theory completely.

Am I right, Goblin Emperor?

Can you know more than I do and then overturn my hypothesis?
