Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Lingshan explained the situation so far to Yang Yu, and Yang Yu also explained to Lingshan that they had investigated the [Raging Dream] stronghold and were preparing to step in.

”Attacking the evil dragon leaves no room for carelessness.

If you have the strength, then feel free to join!

The evil dragon is not easy to deal with; one more person means more strength.”

”Alright. See you later.” After speaking, Yang Yu hung up the crystal ball.

Lingshan couldn’t help but smile; she had finally found the chance to correct her mistake.

Last time, due to her lack of understanding of the situation, [Island Drifting] allowed the Curse Sect members to escape.

After the summoning from the [Corpse Collection Coffin], Lingshan knew she might have made a monumental error.

Even though she didn’t show it, Lingshan was still troubled by it, always wanting to do something for Yang Yu.

Inviting Yang Yu and his group to assist in the campaign against the evil dragon was not a decision Lingshan made impulsively.

Lingshan believed that [Island Drifting], being an established S-class adventure group with rich combat experience, could teach Yang Yu some useful things for the adventure.

Though they hadn’t spotted any trace of the evil dragon up to now, nor knew how long it would take to defeat it, Lingshan knew that meeting Yang Yu again meant the opportunity to silently make amends for her previous mistakes.

”Leader.

Why are you smiling at the crystal ball stupidly?

You need to be serious about participating in this campaign; don’t be idle when I’m not watching you.”

At some point, Lang Yi walked over to Lingshan, looking quite displeased.

Faced with Lang Yi’s reprimand, Lingshan shrugged it off and smiled, ”Lang Yi, listen to me. Yang Yu and his group are coming over here. With another S-class adventure group on top of what we have now, we’re sure to achieve ultimate victory more easily and take down the evil dragon.”

Lang Yi let out a long sigh, snatched the crystal ball from Lingshan, and tossed it to Jiao Xi, who wasn’t far away.

”I told you, don’t just casually create trouble for others.”

”I didn’t do that. They took the initiative to come.”

”Really?” Lang Yi was skeptical about Lingshan’s words, ”Even if it’s true.

Your job as leader is to lead other adventurers to cautiously investigate the surroundings and be ready for battle anytime to handle any sudden situations.

Not sneak to the back of the team and smile idiotically.

Don’t leave everything for us to handle.”

”But... wasn’t it you who wanted to investigate?” Lingshan protested weakly.

”That’s because I believe that if you’re in front and notice something unusual, you’d rush in recklessly.

This time’s enemy is serious; you mustn’t act carelessly, so I’m leading the team forward in your stead.

When will you let us worry less and act like a proper leader?

Then I wouldn’t have to do your tasks for you.”

”Your expectations are overly strict; as a leader, I’m already excellent.”

”Oh? Is that so?” Lang Yi’s fists clenched involuntarily, he glared at Lingshan fiercely, as if saying ”I didn’t hear what you just said, say it again if you dare.”

Lang Yi’s glare was so piercing that Lingshan shrank back, guiltily shifting her gaze elsewhere.

In the end, Lang Yi chose not to lecture Lingshan.

The priority now was to find the evil dragon or its offspring; Lang Yi didn’t want to waste too much time.

After a brief interlude, Lang Yi continued to lead, directing the search across various groups, making others question who the real leader of [Island Drifting] was.

In the forest area searched by [Island Drifting] and the adventurers, the trees grew exceptionally tall, making the forest seem more like a tropical rainforest than an island forest.

Since the trees were incredibly tall, without surpassing the canopy, climbing up the trunk alone could provide a sufficiently broad view.

[Dragon God’s Might] also considered this aspect when assigning teams; each group included several competent scouts.

Without needing special instructions from Lang Yi, the scouts accompanying the team had already climbed up the trees early on, actively conducting reconnaissance.

Yet, after venturing into this forest for a while, there wasn’t any trace of the evil dragon, not even its whereabouts.

As the reconnaissance continued, suddenly, all the scouts atop the trunks halted simultaneously, having noticed an abnormal rustling in a nearby bush.

The scouts didn’t hesitate and immediately reported: ”There’s something unusual ahead, it doesn’t seem to be a magic beast.”

As soon as the words were spoken, the scouts saw a woman cloaked in brush cautiously emerge from behind the bushes, nervously glancing around as she quickly made her way towards the area where Lang Yi and his group were located.

The scout reported: ”It’s a girl, looking panicked...”

At that moment, another scout widened their eyes and reported: ”I know her; she’s a member of [Raging Dream], Blala Atturn, she’s alive.”

Hearing the scout’s report, everyone present was incredibly shocked.

Everyone focused their gaze on the woman approaching them, intuitively feeling that Blala surely knew some clues about the evil dragon.

Blala’s parents were from the Mermaid Clan, but she didn’t possess many mermaid features herself; even transforming into mermaid form consumed considerable magic power.

From appearance alone, Blala looked like a human female with two antenna-like weird hairs on her head and some scales on her feet.

However, she possessed an ability a typical human female could never have.

Besides remote telepathy, Blala could directly manipulate magic power in the air using her will, turning it into telekinesis.

Upon seeing the people from [Island Drifting], Blala’s eyes brimmed with tears before she even fully approached the group, and she burst into sobs:

”You’re here—finally, you’ve come, you must avenge us.

Because of that monster, all my companions died, leaving only me alive.

I beg you, please avenge them.”

Blala cried so heart-wrenchingly, everyone present was moved, deciding to properly console this sole survivor once she got closer.

”Immediately notify other teams, a survivor is here. Everyone remain on high alert instantly to prevent the evil dragon from appearing suddenly; never let your guard down.”

From Lang Yi’s words, the expeditionary team members realized what they needed to do to assist Blala.

However, just as others prepared to respond to Lang Yi’s directive, a half-foot-long Water Blade silently appeared in Lang Yi’s hand.

Without any warning, Lang Yi shot forward like a bullet, reaching Blala’s front in an instant, and struck toward Blala’s chest.

This sudden attack startled Blala; she wanted to activate her telekinesis protective shield for defense, but it was too late.

Lang Yi’s Sharp Water Blade, with lightning speed, swiftly slashed across Blala’s chest.
