Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Upon setting foot on the island, black clouds swirled above Yang Yu and his companions.

Bai Jin attempted to cast a simple Fireball Technique, and a flame appeared in her palm.

Under the influence of the black clouds, Bai Jin also found it difficult to continuously draw magic from the surroundings, and the fireball in her hand flickered, seemingly about to dissipate into the air.

The deeper they ventured into the island, the more chaotic the magic in the air became, making it increasingly hard to capture.

Bai Jin had once undergone training in the Kafezaro Desert to extract magic from thin air.

The techniques learned then happened to be useful here.

The flickering flames stopped, and Bai Jin gained firm control over the fireball.

Bai Jin could just manage to strip away some usable magic from the chaotic magic on the island.

Though the amount of magic extracted was insufficient to support Bai Jin in casting large-scale magic, it was enough to reduce her magic consumption.

Allowing Bai Jin to maintain a certain level of output without continuously taking Magic Potions.

It’s easy to build resistance to potions, but much harder to reduce it.

Up to this day, Yang Yu still hadn’t completely cleared the antidrug resistance in his body.

If possible, Yang Yu wanted to prevent his companions from developing antidrug resistance as well, so he consciously avoided the overuse of potions, entrusting most healing and recovery tasks to Iyas.

Yang Yu would only consider using potions when absolutely necessary.

”Bai Jin, do we still have any Fairy’s Magic Stone left?”

Bai Jin nodded, ”We do have some... but not much. The Fairy’s Magic Stone is a very precious tool, with limited annual production. The production has been low in Fairyland the past two years.....”

”I know,” Yang Yu interrupted Bai Jin, asking, ”The magic in the Fairy’s Magic Stone shouldn’t be a problem, right? Can it be used normally?”

”No problem, it can be used normally,” Bai Jin replied.

”Keep that thing with you. If we really end up fighting the Goblin Emperor, don’t hesitate to use it.

Don’t think about saving it for the Demon King.

If you’re dead, there won’t be a next time.”

Bai Jin nodded, ”But, we must also avoid overuse. The Curse Sect and those Four Heavenly Kings are also around.”

”Exactly. You know better than I do when to use it. I’m just reminding you not to save a little and lose a lot.”

Saying this, Yang Yu and his companions mounted Lotcar, who had transformed back into a giant wolf.

Due to the chaotic magic, Lotcar took a few more minutes than usual to transform, but even with the delay, riding Lotcar was faster than Yang Yu and his team providing support for Island Drifting on foot.

Bai Jin tried contacting Island Drifting, but the Crystal Ball showed no response.

Yang Yu decided to first head to the general location described by Island Drifting, then use Lotcar’s sense of smell and hearing to find Island Drifting.

Crossing the beach, Lotcar dashed into the forest with agile strides.

In the forest, the branches and leaves were thick, and the green canopy blocked out the sky.

As they ran, Yang Yu saw some lichen-covered debris that didn’t belong to nature.

Yang Yu didn’t have Lotcar stop to investigate, as the priority now was the safety of Island Drifting and Dragon God’s Might.

Shortly after leaving the debris covered by lichen, deep in the dense forest, a blood-stained short-haired girl stumbled into Lotcar’s path.

Upon seeing Yang Yu and his group, the short-haired girl, as if seeing a savior, lifted her weary body and waved at them, indicating for Yang Yu and his companions to stop and help her.

A quick glance at the panel, Yang Yu signaled for Lotcar to veer around the girl and continue forward, instructing Iyas and Bai Jin to mark the spot at intervals.

Then, Yang Yu jumped off Lotcar and walked alone towards the short-haired girl.

The short-haired girl watched Lotcar depart, lost in thought.

”Miss, what caused you to be so severely injured? I have some potions here, if you don’t mind, feel free to use them.”

It was only when Yang Yu first greeted the short-haired girl that she snapped out of her daze, turning to see Yang Yu amicably offering her a potion.

The short-haired girl didn’t immediately take the potion from Yang Yu’s hand but said:

”The forest is very dangerous, letting your companions go like that, they might die in it.”

”But isn’t there someone like you who needs rescuing?” Yang Yu said with a smile, ”No worries, they’re very capable. If we were afraid of danger from the start, we wouldn’t have come here.”

”That’s true... I admire your courage.”

The short-haired girl took a few steps forward, twisted her foot, and leaned against a large tree.

Frowning at Yang Yu, the short-haired girl weakly said: ”I’m really grateful that you came to save me.

But I’ve expended too much stamina to escape from that guy.

I’m afraid I can’t manage to drink the potion myself.

If you’re helping someone, help them all the way. If you’re sending the Buddha, send it to the West.

Could you help me drink it?”

”Of course. Quickly drink it down, so I can take you to a safe place,” Yang Yu said with genuine concern, stepping towards the short-haired girl.

The short-haired girl stood silently in place, waiting, though her eyes flashed with malice.

Suddenly, Yang Yu stopped in his tracks, scanning his surroundings.

Seeing this, a glimmer of confusion appeared in the short-haired girl’s eyes, and she asked, ”What’s wrong?”

Yang Yu’s face turned grave, ”I heard something approaching. It might be the Evil Dragon’s offspring that injured you, following your scent.

Don’t be afraid, I’ll cover for you.

Quickly drink the potion and run towards the beach!”

The short-haired girl perked up her ears, but she didn’t hear anything, the surroundings were still. Besides, each Evil Dragon’s offspring performs tasks by region, in this forest... there should only be...

Reaching out, the short-haired girl shouted to Yang Yu: ”Come quickly, give me the potion, before it arrives. Once I recover, I will surely help you.”

Yang Yu remained unmoved, standing still as he drew his sword and shield.

Upon seeing this, Red Blade Doron, the short-haired girl, stopped pretending, lifting her head as her round pupils turned blood-red, becoming Dragon Eyes, and coldly said to Yang Yu:

”When did you notice?”

Slowly taking a stance, Yang Yu laughed, ”I realized it from the start. My companions have already escaped far away, if you want to catch up, it will take quite some time.”

Red Blade Doron snorted coldly, straightening her body from the tree she was leaning on, her wounds healing at an eye-visible pace.

”I should have attacked directly when we met.

I thought... I’d clear a few small fry before having some fun with you.

But I didn’t expect you to exploit a loophole.

Do you think you alone can stop me?

Do you think buying time for your companions to escape is worthwhile?

I’ll finish you off right now, then bring your corpse to meet them.

”

Yang Yu smiled slightly, ”If you think you can bring my corpse to them, it might be a little difficult.

I told you, they are strong.

I am the main tank of the team and also the leader, of course the troublesome tasks fall to me.”
