Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Since Count Blood harbors this idea, it’s pretty much predictable that he wants to make me one of his chess pieces too.

Yang Yu looked at Count Blood and tentatively asked:

”Do you want to become the Demon King?”

Yang Yu’s question was once again denied by Count Blood:

”That’s not correct.

I said, what I hope for is a world where the strong are supreme.

In such a world, there are neither Demon Kings nor Heroes.

The ones standing at the top of the world must inevitably be those who transcend everyone else.

If I happen to be the strongest at the end, I don’t mind ascending to the peak of the world.

If you grow strong enough to defeat me, I’ll also serve you as the King.

One thing to be clear is that kingship is not eternal.

The king seated at the top must constantly remind himself to keep getting stronger, suppress all who wish to challenge his authority, to solidify his rule.

The strong dominate, the weak surrender.

That is my pursuit.

Just by imagining such a world, my heart excites beyond words.

In such a world, countless captivating stories are bound to be born.

There will be, strong individuals like you rising from grassroots, discovering their potential, then reaching the summit.

There will be, true dominators exhausting all their strength just to maintain their rule.

Every story, both heart-stirring.

Don’t you find such a world fascinating?”

Count Blood tossed a conversational hook to Yang Yu, who knew this was a probing question, and how he answered might influence the direction of the subsequent discussion.

After a moment of contemplation, Yang Yu did not directly answer the question, but instead asked:

”After establishing such a world, how will you ensure that a world where the strong reign supreme can be sustained?

If the person who ascends to the top wants his rule to last long, and harms all who are weaker than him to prevent anyone from transcending him, and potential strong individuals all perish at his feet, what then?

Do you think it’s okay to just leave all who lose as the weak?”

”Those who prey on the weak compared to themselves are unworthy of being called strong, merely cowards.”

Raising his glass, Count Blood sipped lightly and continued:

”Regarding maintaining that world and preventing such cowards from arising...

You needn’t worry about this, as I have seriously contemplated it and already thought of several feasible ideas.

The detailed plan will be determined once the new world is fully established.

I’ve never thought it would be a one-step process.

If you wish to know my scheme and offer suggestions, you’ll have to wait until we formally establish an alliance.”

”Is that so?”

Initially laying out his purpose, expressing his thoughts, yet here choosing silence.

Yang Yu cautiously said:

”The world you envision is indeed wonderful, where anyone with strength can ascend to the top, anyone has the opportunity to prove themselves as strong...

”A world where the strong are supreme never lacks a stage.

To me, you still have vast potential, with plenty of room for improvement.

If you’re willing to ally with me, I can even adopt a special transformation device to make you stronger.

On your journey, you’ve already witnessed quite a few of my proud creations, haven’t you?

I picked those beings, though initially not very strong, they all possess the will to become stronger.

The will to become stronger is one of the necessary factors in becoming strong.

Thus, I transformed them, giving them Strength that can only be fully mastered through diligent Control.

Seeing them master the abilities I presented, truly becoming stronger, reversing their previous decline, my heart swells beyond description.

You’re already very strong now, and if you undergo a slight modification by me, standing on equal footing won’t be an issue.

With just a little more effort, you might become the person I serve.”

Yang Yu crossed his arms and said: ”It’s a quite attractive proposal, accepting your transformation, becoming stronger, admired by thousands, that would be pretty nice.

But how can I trust you?”

Count Blood retorted: ”Then what do you think I should do to earn your trust?”

In response to Count Blood’s retort, Yang Yu replied: ”Complete trust isn’t something that can be established overnight; it requires long-term interaction.

Although you’ve watched us for a long time, today is the first time we’ve met, right?

It’s hard to accept such early talks of cooperation.

At least, we should interact for a period, allowing me to understand your dealings.

So I can decide whether to collaborate on great undertakings with you.”

Count Blood revealed a slight smile, ”Indeed. Although I understand you, you all know nothing about me, so being reckless in making a decision is inappropriate.

I have a proposal, why don’t you stay here temporarily, and make a decision once you’ve understood the kind of person I am.”

Yang Yu did not hesitate much and resolutely refused Count Blood: ”Sorry about that.

But we also have various matters to attend to, not just fulfilling the Task of the giant dragon, but also cleaning up that group planning to summon Demons.

Otherwise, both tasks will interfere with our fight against the Demon King.

Count, you wouldn’t want your plans to be obstructed either, right?”

Gently setting his glass down, Count Blood said: ”If you ask me, you needn’t bother.

Once the Demon King descends upon this world, he will manage any influencing variables himself.

Conversely, the incidents you mentioned might even offer us a strategic opportunity.”

”That’s debatable.

I understand your thoughts, you want us to become the fisherman benefiting from the clams fighting.

But if the situation isn’t controlled, it will certainly exceed our expectations and ultimately affect the bigger picture.

Besides, this is a rare opportunity for growth.

Compared to the method you mentioned for becoming stronger, I’d still prefer using my own hands to strengthen myself.”

Straightening his splendid hair, Count Blood’s eyes emitted a dazzling red light, and he said:

”Then there’s no way.

It seems there’s no need to continue the discussion until trust is fully established between us.

If you change your mind before the Demon King descends, I welcome you to join us.

If you don’t come, it’s alright.

My subordinates have previously disclosed some information about the Demon World to you.

You can use that information to deal with the abnormal Demon King.

When you’ve achieved great success and haven’t received what you deserve, you’ll remember the words I said to you today.”
