Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Beginning with Amon’s fall, the world gradually descended into chaos, entering a dark age.

Due to its vast territory, the E-country where Lux resided suffered repeated sudden attacks from Amon.

The E-country’s army had barely ”seen off” Amon when various opportunistic organizations swarmed in.

The E-country’s army was stretched thin, unable to prevent the country from following the world’s fate into chaos.

In just a few months, countless people were displaced, the entire country was filled with wails and misery, and the people suffered.

In such despair, people once again placed their hope on the hero.

Someone leaked the hero’s residence, causing countless refugees and believers to flock to the area where the hero was recuperating, praying for the hero to save them.

Various princes and ministers continuously sent people to inquire about the hero’s status, hoping the hero would quickly re-emerge to deal with Amon’s rampage.

After months of recovery, Lux had improved somewhat.

As soon as Lux felt better, he disregarded the physicians’ advice, stood up, equipped himself with weapons and gear, and amidst the crowd’s kneeling, left his residence to face Amon.

Amon’s demeanor was vastly different from what Yang Yu had seen in the underground maze, devoid of any warmth.

Amon was shrouded entirely in black aura, wearing nearly two meters of black armor, with a massive twisted black metal horn perched on his head, chains clanking on his armor, his every move filled with grim slaughter and destruction, an icy cold pressing down suffocatingly.

As if any oversight would trap one in eternal darkness by this dark knight.

Standing once again before an old friend, Lux didn’t launch an attack immediately but instead engaged in a heartfelt conversation.

From Lux and Amon’s dialogue, Yang Yu learned that Amon had undergone a dark transformation before, during which time Lux’s encouragement helped him regain confidence, abandoning darkness to embrace the light.

Lux firmly believed Amon could again conquer his inner self, emerge from darkness, and transform.

...Even if this time, the darkness ran deeper than before.

However, things didn’t work out as hoped.

Lux’s words had no effect, Amon completely lost his self-awareness, his mind consumed only by destruction.

Reluctantly, Lux had to engage in battle.

During their first confrontation, Lux managed to fend off Amon temporarily, at the cost of a fractured right hand.

In their second encounter, the darkness on Amon deepened further, and even with Lux’s persistent urging, it was futile. This time, he barely repelled Amon at the cost of both legs completely shattered.

In the third clash, Lux remained persistent... this time, all his limbs were broken. If it weren’t for the Elf Queen Ming Tu Sai Qiute arriving in time, adding a decisive shot to drive away the fallen Amon, Lux might have perished.

Perhaps fallen Amon could draw strength from the dead, as over time, he was becoming increasingly strong.

If he cannot be decisively eliminated, one day, even the hero won’t be able to defeat him.

By then, the world will plunge entirely into darkness.

Ming Tu Sai Qiute proposed to Lux to gather old comrades and recruit warriors worldwide to form an expeditionary team.

Lux declined Ming Tu Sai Qiute’s proposal, stating that he hadn’t used his true strength because he aimed to awaken Amon; next time, he would make a final attempt, and if it failed, he would unleash his full power to kill Amon.

Ming Tu Sai Qiute questioned Lux’s claim but ultimately chose to believe in Lux.

After all, Lux had once led them to defeat the Demon King.

Before the final battle, Lux received Ming Tu Sai Qiute’s thorough healing.

Ming Tu Sai Qiute also brought out the secret treasure of the elves, temporarily adjusting Lux’s status to peak condition.

Afterwards, Lux visited Yi Zuo’s wife and met the boy with Star Eye.

The two went on a picnic on the vast grasslands.

Under various influences, the boy gradually learned about his most respected uncle’s true identity, always wanting to find a chance to ask properly.

This time his uncle came over actively, making him happy but also somewhat uneasy.

”Uncle Lux, are you the hero who once defeated the Demon King?”

”Yes.” Lux admitted very straightforwardly.

”I thought uncle would evade, making the evidence I collected useless.”

”I never planned to hide it. Besides, being a hero isn’t such an impressive profession.” Lux smiled, then sighed a bit fatigued: ”Being a hero is quite tiring. Having done it once, I don’t want to do it again.”

”I can tell. The burden of saving the world once again rests on uncle’s shoulders.” The boy patted his chest, ”Take me along. As I grow, my eyes can see more and more things invisible to others, surely able to help uncle.”

Lux shook his head, saying: ”If you truly could see, you would know the difference between us, like the sun and a firefly.

My enemy is an unseen vast darkness, the sun can illuminate the darkness, a tiny glow would only be devoured.

Your bloodline is quite special, and only you remain from your clan....

Though it’s a bit early, you should start thinking about how to continue the lineage.”

”Marriage is too early for me. Besides, uncle never considered marriage either, I’ve always thought you and my mother matched well, I wouldn’t mind having more siblings.”

Lux again displayed a wry smile, ”I have my circumstances as well. I... I...”

Mid-sentence, Lux lifted his head, gazing at the vast blue sky, as if recalling various past events.

”...I cannot stay outside forever, I must go to the Village of Heroes.

That’s where a hero’s destination lies...

I have no idea what fate awaits me there.

Perhaps...

I might never see anyone from the outside again.”

”Uncle accomplished the hero’s mission well, why doesn’t he have the right to see the outside? I don’t want to not see uncle!” The boy said in a panic, clearly unable to accept the outcome.

Lux patted the boy’s head, ”An adult’s world is quite complicated indeed.

You’ll understand when you grow up.

Since your Star Eye has improved, let me ask, what kind of world do you see?

Your father left something with me, if your Star Eye is up to the mark, I’ll pass it on to you.

If not, you must strive even harder.

If by the time I leave and you haven’t met the standard, I’ll entrust it to reliable hands for safekeeping.

When you grow up, the treasure symbolizing your family’s legacy will surely return to your hands.”
