Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

Gordon ultimately couldn’t defeat Aslit.

The fierce aerial combat left them evenly matched.

But once they returned to the ground, Aslit launched a swift assault, and after a heated battle, Gordon was knocked to the ground.

In fact, the moment he landed, Gordon believed he had lost.

Yet, amidst the cheers and shouts of encouragement from the crowd, he rarely tried hard once more.

Unfortunately, he still couldn’t defeat Aslit.

The black magic power on Aslit was overwhelmingly dominant, rendering many control spells ineffective against her. Blades surrounded by black currents easily sliced through Gordon’s magic attacks.

Even with multiple traps set, Gordon couldn’t gain an advantage in his confrontation with Aslit.

Watching Aslit slowly sheathe her sword, Yang Yu felt a tinge of regret.

Aslit’s dark magic power rapidly burns through magic power.

Gordon managed to withstand Aslit’s offensive for over ten minutes, exhausting her magic power.

For a moment, Yang Yu thought Gordon might win.

Unexpectedly, the black magic power burnt through the blue bar and began to burn the blood bar directly, and as Aslit’s blood bar decreased, her attributes slowly declined.

The dark magic power could actually use a person’s life as fuel.

Aslit didn’t mind burning her life to sustain the black magic power, ultimately defeating Gordon.

To Yang Yu’s surprise, even under the healing of the giant dragon, some of Aslit’s reduced attribute values did not recover.

Aslit’s attribute values were over a hundred points less than before the match.

Indeed, great power often comes with risks.

Yang Yu’s attributes have been carefully accumulated bit by bit, and he doesn’t have the courage to burn away so many attribute values in one go.

After Aslit’s victory, no one cheered or applauded, and Aslit didn’t care, disappearing from the battle stage with steady steps.

After determining the top four, the Dragon God Conference proceeded to a two-hour intermission.

In the silence of the audience, Gordon returned to his seat helplessly, having attempted with all his might but still failing to claim victory.

”She’s stronger than I imagined. I haven’t fought like this in a long time, and I’m a bit tired. I need to take a rest.”

Gordon curled up on two benches, closed his eyes, and fell asleep.

Wanjing Zhuhua uncharacteristically didn’t say anything.

She knew Gordon had truly tried his best, and even if she were to replace him, she might not have done better, only reaching Bai Jin’s level at most.

Though unwilling, Wanjing Zhuhua could only swallow all her frustration and pray that Aslit would be the one eliminated among the four.

Yang Yu glanced back at Wanjing Zhuhua and said, ”About what we talked about a couple of days ago...

Mid-sentence, Yang Yu paused before continuing:

”Now you’re waiting for me to prove my abilities, to see if I can achieve a rank in the Dragon God Conference before deciding whether to agree to my request, right?”

Wanjing Zhuhua lowered her head, and her large round-frame glasses reflected a bright light.

She didn’t directly answer Yang Yu, but her gaze already conveyed the answer to him.

”I understand. I’ll give it my all to win, no matter who faces me in the finals, I will mercilessly defeat them.”

With those words, Yang Yu took out his lunch, sharing it with the others while waiting for the next match to start.

The two-hour break seemed rather lengthy, with most spectators eating and drinking in the stands, quietly awaiting the start of the semifinals.

A small portion of the audience extremely concerned about Aslit attempted to use this break to sneak into the contestants’ corridor, lurking around the rest area, planning to do something to her after the match.

Unfortunately, they were all caught by the Dragon God Conference Committee, achieving nothing, having no choice but to silently curse the giant dragons for being an apathetic bunch.

In the end, these people could only return to the Arena, like everyone else, waiting for the semifinals to begin.

The sun slowly ascended above the Arena, and seeing that it was almost time, Yang Yu got up to prepare.

Bai Jin and the others cheered and encouraged him.

As long as he wins this match, Yang Yu will steadily secure the much-desired Dragon Race Essence.

Responding one by one to Bai Jin and the others’ encouragement, Yang Yu left the stands and headed to the rest area.

What Bai Jin and the others didn’t expect was that just now, Yang Yu considered whether to withdraw from this match and aim for third place instead.

Yang Yu thinks Aslit is unlikely to beat Shadow Hand Clan’s Lorand.

If Yang Yu defeats Hualan, Aslit would easily defeat Hualan and take third place with her swift posture.

But if Yang Yu intentionally forfeits, he could target Aslit and possibly push her to fourth place, denying her the chance to obtain the Dragon Race Essence.

The problem is, if Shadow Hand Clan’s Lorand is a paper tiger, or if Aslit has hidden abilities and ends up defeating Lorand, resulting in facing Hualan in the finals, Yang Yu’s forfeit would be extremely awkward.

No one wants to see the Demon King’s henchman win the Dragon God Conference crown and take away the exceptionally rich rewards.

Seeing Wanjing Zhuhua’s eye response, Yang Yu decided to go all out in the semifinals to prevent the worst-case scenario.

”Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Dragon God Conference semifinals.

After numerous fierce competitions, 256 geniuses from around the world are now down to just four.

Today, they will determine the final victor here.”

The host was passionately rallying the emotions of everyone on scene, and the previously sleepy audience instantly grew excited.

”First, let’s welcome the captain of the new S-Class adventure group, contestant Yang Yu.

He has defeated numerous unimaginable strong opponents along the way, fully proving his strength.

I believe he will also perform outstandingly in this match.”

Amidst the enthusiastic applause, Yang Yu walked out from the corridor entrance and ascended the battle stage.

”And his opponent is from the veteran S-Class adventure group ’Corpse Collection Coffin.’

This sea-dwelling young lady rare spiritual ability user.

Now let’s welcome, contestant Hualan!”

Under the applause, Hualan stepped onto the battle stage, politely bowing to Yang Yu,

”Please take care of me. My master seems to value you highly. I want to see your true strength, I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

”Mm. Miss Hualan, please also show your full strength, I certainly won’t hold back because you’re a girl.”

After a few simple greetings, Yang Yu took out his sword from the system and then pulled out a shield like broken ice.

Hualan cast a Summoning Seal, with several lights appearing around her, turning into swimming small fish.

”Ready! Begin!”

With the referee’s signal, Yang Yu erupted with speed faster than before, charging toward Hualan with lightning speed.
