Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

The ordinary young man leading the way was none other than Lux, the hero shrouded in countless legends.

Looking at the almost formed heroic party, Yang Yu said:

”Can we rewind the time a bit more, preferably to the birth of Hero Lux? If possible, I’d also like to see Amon’s birth and whether he’s a half-blood of an angel and a human.”

Owen shook his head helplessly and explained:

”Though we giant dragons are mighty, we cannot record every event that’s ever happened in the world.

We use all our energy to construct, observe, and record the world’s operations through magic, covering only one-third of the world.

The effort we send to the land can only capture and collect half of the tales on the continent.

To document each era’s nuances as best as possible, we devised a strategy.

Most of the time, we focus the observation magic on certain major cities or some significant figures, and only occasionally will it shift to other areas.

Regions with massive magic fluctuations or frequent magical activity are primary targets for the surveillance magic to leap to.

A large magic fluctuation often signifies a confrontation between formidable entities.

Overlooked areas can only be inferred from the documented people and items.

If a major event occurs beyond our surveillance range, someone will inevitably gather intelligence and send it back to a major city.

Through those, we can mostly deduce the happenings in the blind spots we couldn’t monitor.

For matters within our surveillance range, we can trace them back gradually, but matters beyond our range are beyond our power.

For instance, we could never know what kind of life an eel fished from the deep sea has lived.

Most of the minutiae are not specially noted by anyone and generally won’t affect the historical course.”

”Even giant dragons aren’t omnipotent,” Yang Yu sighed, ”No wonder you couldn’t find that creature for so long. If someone constantly evades your surveillance magic, would he completely vanish from your historical records?”

”Thinking that way isn’t wrong either.

But as long as he interacts with others, people more or less talk about him, leaving behind some clues.

If there were no clues at all, it would be as if he were dead.

Besides, evading a dragon’s surveillance magic isn’t easy.

Our surveillance magic blends with the sky, leaving virtually no traces.

Even if someone flies into the sky using super large magic, they wouldn’t sense anything abnormal.

It’s exceedingly difficult to deliberately avoid...

And if someone does avoid it, what’s the purpose of their deliberate evasion?”

In saying the last sentence, Owen’s confidence visibly wavered, his heart somewhat shaken.

Knowing the surveillance patterns and not interacting with others can indeed avoid surveillance points, but this also means that person would be completely estranged from the era.

Owen thought he’d never encounter something that would deliberately evade their surveillance until he met that dragon-shaped creature...

Even though it’s impossible to assert that the creature has been intentionally avoiding them, an unspoken sense of crisis loomed in Owen’s heart.

”Dragons adopt a stance of absolute neutrality toward this world.

If someone does evade your surveillance, maybe they just don’t want someone curious about the world like me to find out what they’re up to...” Yang Yu casually said, ”Or perhaps, they don’t want the dragons to notice something.

Someone might be aiming to overthrow the dragons’ dominion, who knows.”

”...”

Owen fell silent.

After a long while, Owen adjusted his monocle and chuckled:

”That’s so like you...

You’ve long sensed that the dragon-shaped creature isn’t simple.

And it’s admirable how you can keep a straight face after asking for so many treasures.

However, rest assured, dragon’s dominion isn’t easily overturned.

We dragons have always adhered to the principle of ’non-aggression if unprovoked.’

Historically, some tried to challenge the dragons’ authority, but they all perished under the dragons’ wrath.

Moreover, if even dragons can’t be stopped...

This world is, essentially, done for.”

Sensing the topic became heavy, Yang Yu skillfully changed the subject:

”Do you really know nothing about Hero Lux’s story before? Is it because the Village of Heroes isn’t within your surveillance range?”

Owen replied: ”Quite unfortunate.

The Village of Heroes is home to many powerful magicians who have built a formidable barrier, causing the entire village to float in the air, only occasionally descending silently.

They’re notoriously difficult to find.

For a hero who has left the Village of Heroes, it’s pretty troublesome to return.

Most of the time, they look for others, not the other way around.

As for the stories before Hero Lux, we don’t know absolutely nothing.

Besides the magic fluctuations caused by his battles that make the surveillance magic flicker, with patience, we can also learn about Hero Lux’s earlier stories from some people.”

Yang Yu sighed, ”We can’t traverse time to inquire, waiting for others to mention him is too slow...”

”Precisely because it’s slow, patience is needed. Finding events requires some tricks. If you really want to understand his earlier stories, we can spend more time.”

Yang Yu shook his head, ”It looks very time-consuming, let’s first see how long it will take to advance the time to modern day... First, tell me the time point Lux is at now.”

Owen replied: ”At this node...

The Demon King has just invaded, and Hero Lux declared his identity to the world.

This time, the Demon King has not immediately attacked the continent but is consolidating forces in the Demon King City, discussing how to invade.

Currently, Hero Lux is crossing this grassland, heading to the Star Kingdom for aid.”

Yang Yu watched the gradually distant group of heroes and said, ”What a delicate time. Compared to the Hero, I’m more interested in the Demon King’s side of things at this time.”

Owen shook his head, ”The Demon King City also has special barriers protecting it, we can’t conduct normal surveillance.

Alright, I will slightly speed up time to skip some useless scenes.

Although the time here is much slower than outside, to see everything would still require quite some time.

You wouldn’t want to find it’s already been a month outside when you leave, would you?”

Yang Yu spread his hands helplessly, ”There’s no other choice.”

”Feel free to delve into places you think are worth it, I can slow down significantly and repeat multiple times, don’t hold back.

If you wish to know how much time has passed outside, you can ask me.”

Owen waved his hand, and the scenery around Yang Yu and the others changed rapidly, following the group of heroes to the Star Clan’s realm, arriving at the palace.

On the throne, the young Yi Zuo proudly held the [Scepter of the Star Clan], receiving the group of heroes.
