The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1135: Chapter 1135: At this point, haven’t you thought about apologizing?

Caryn felt as if she’d been slapped in the face in front of everyone, the burning sensation stinging her cheeks. Her heart raced, her mind churned, and she gripped her hand tightly. ”Grandpa, I...”

Mr. Zachmann’s gaze was steady and powerful, silently urging her to continue speaking.

Caryn glanced up at him once, then hurriedly lowered her head again in disgrace. Her voice was muffled and unclear: ”I’ll listen to you. But... what Grandma said makes some sense. Asking me to suddenly move, I don’t even know where to go. Besides, Tsinghua University starts tomorrow, and it’s my final year before graduation. I’m facing important decisions about my research specialization, and I simply don’t have the time to deal with moving.”

Caryn gripped her hand again and raised her head. Her facial features were somewhat similar to Nathalie Quinlan’s, yet lacked the refinement of Nathalie’s features.

Moreover, Caryn’s features were subtle and elongated; her jawline was her most defined feature.

Such a face shape wasn’t as clean and fluid as Nathalie’s, which looked more pleasant. Caryn’s appearance had a slightly more sophisticated feel.

She had always been aware of her shortcomings; her usual aloof personality and disinclination to interact with others were an attempt to complement her appearance and emphasize her sense of elegance.

As a result, whenever she looked at others, an unconscious air of superiority often emerged.

This time was no exception.

She looked at Mr. Zachmann, pressed her red lips tightly together, and spoke softly again: ”Grandpa, I’ve already decided on my graduate studies focus. I want to enter The Ninth Institute and study bioengineering under Master Cadmus.”

The Ninth Institute was the most challenging place to gain admission in Beijing; it gathered all the top talents in C Country.

Caryn’s goal was ambitious.

If the Zachmann Family could produce someone who gained admission to The Ninth Institute, their status in Beijing would undoubtedly soar!

This was precisely what Caryn aimed for, which was why she chose to reveal her future plans at this moment.

”When the time comes, I’ll definitely be busy with academic matters and won’t have much energy for other things.”

Celine Tucker couldn’t help her excitement: ”Caryn, have you made up your mind?”

Caryn nodded, responding with a faint ”Mm.” ”Mom, I’ve made up my mind. I won’t pursue a graduate degree in medicine anymore. The ceiling of this field would only reach the level of my current tutor. I don’t want my future ceiling to be just that—I’ve decided to switch specialties.”

Adelle Wafford was unanimously recognized as the top expert in the country’s neurology field.

And what of it?

At best, she was just a doctor.

Caryn wanted more!

The Ninth Institute had been her goal all week.

Only by entering The Ninth Institute could she move closer to that person, finally having the chance to interact with him day by day.

”Mm, as long as you’ve thought it through, Mom supports you.” Celine Tucker had clearly lost sight of their current predicament, nodding repeatedly.

After listening to Caryn’s entire future plan, Mr. Zachmann merely furrowed his brows. His sharp eyes continued to fix on her with an unchanged expression, yet anyone could tell that he was dissatisfied with Caryn’s response. ”Caryn, is this all you wanted to tell me?”

Caryn’s heart leapt again. She felt tense, glancing at Mr. Zachmann with flickering eyes and a disorganized air. She clearly didn’t want to meet his gaze head-on. ”Grandpa, I...”

Seeing her in this state, Mr. Zachmann spoke again in an even tone: ”Given how things have escalated, have you not considered apologizing to Nathalie?”

Caryn suddenly looked up.

”You’ve never thought of apologizing to your cousin for your actions?”

Despite her face growing pale and unsightly, Mr. Zachmann did not relent. He asked her again calmly, his voice unhurried, as if inquiring casually.
