The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1121: Chapter 1121: The Results Are Out, Face Slap!

Nathalie Quinlan wasn’t as excited as Tiffany Olsen. She appeared rather calm as she took the bottle of water from Ezra Hoffman, twisted the cap open, and took a sip.

She noticed Tiffany still looking at her with an excited expression.

Screwing the cap back on the bottle, Nathalie looked slightly troubled, shrugged, and chuckled, ”No idea. Let’s see how the audience reacts to the later performances. Anyway, we won’t be last place.”

”Of course!” Tiffany had already been so thrilled she didn’t know where she was anymore.

After her excitement waned a little, she murmured softly, ”I feel like we did better than Caryn Zachmann and her group this time!”

Nathalie raised her brows, looking somewhat surprised, but she didn’t say anything.

They outperformed Caryn Zachmann? Wasn’t that an inevitable outcome?

The collision between the two versions of ”Nirvana” had become the biggest highlight of Tsinghua University’s anniversary celebration this time.

Especially the twists and turns of the unfolding drama—it had the audience hyped up and boiling with excitement.

The performances that followed were in a tough spot.

Nathalie’s electrifying rendition of ’Nirvana’ had completely stolen the spotlight. After that, where was the chance for others to shine? Practically all the onlookers were absorbed in comparing the two identical-themed programs.

The subsequent entries from the physics and architecture departments were just choral performances.

Frankly, there was no real need to pay attention to them.

Eventually, everyone endured till the final program ended.

After the conclusion, it was time for Jackson Wafford to announce the final results.

In past years, winning first place during the anniversary celebration hadn’t been such a big deal. Everyone treated it as a casual entertainment event—no one paid much attention to the rankings since, well, who cared whether you won or not?

This year, however, was different.

The first-place winner would secure the sponsorship from Maybelissa Group.

On top of that, the audience was curious to see which version of ’Nirvana’ would ultimately claim the top spot.

Adelle Wafford had looked visibly displeased throughout the announcement process as Mr. Wafford stepped onto the stage and revealed the final results. She managed to restrain herself until everything was wrapped up, but as soon as it was over, she stormed off in anger.

She didn’t even attend the dinner planned later with the Ministry of Culture.

Her departure was swift, and everyone could see that her face had turned ashen—her expression was so tense that she couldn’t hide her frustration even if she tried.

As soon as she left, Stephanie Tanzil stood gracefully, smiling as she said to Professor Gober, ”Professor Gober, I’ll be skipping the lunch meeting this afternoon. I haven’t seen my nephew in a while, and since he’s come to visit the school, we’ve agreed to have lunch together with his friends. Would you mind letting Mr. Wafford know on my behalf?”

The Chinese Medicine department’s [Nirvana] won first place.

Following that, the clinical department’s [Nirvana] claimed second place.

The results mirrored the program order—rather dramatic and sequential. This time, however, Caryn Zachmann and Adelle Wafford’s group were the ones lagging behind.

Professor Gober glanced at Adelle’s furious retreating figure. He could almost picture just how enraged she was after this loss. Smiling but saying nothing, he shifted his gaze away.

Politely, he responded to Stephanie, ”Alright, I’ll let Mr. Wafford know.”

It wasn’t strange for Stephanie to skip the dinner gathering, but the fact that Amadeus Yancey planned to attend was noteworthy. Why he’d decided to go was anyone’s guess. This year, the prestigious Yancey Family figure had truly given Tsinghua University plenty of respect and support on numerous occasions.

Still, Amadeus attending the dinner was obviously good news.

The Ministry of Culture would have to give face to such a prominent figure, which meant that many future negotiations and ventures for the school could become far smoother.

”Thank you.”

With those words, Stephanie picked up the handbag she’d brought along and headed towards the back rows to find Zeus Tanzil.

As she walked, she lowered her head and sent a Line message to a contact in her phone. Everyone was undoubtedly having lunch around the school vicinity this afternoon, so Stephanie figured she’d try to see if she could arrange for Nathalie Quinlan to join her.

After sending the message, there was no reply for quite some time.

Stephanie felt a little disappointed but wasn’t overly concerned.

At this moment, Nathalie was probably waiting backstage with her classmates for the results. Since the results had just been announced, they were likely discussing things for a while longer before Nathalie would get the chance to check her phone.

Thinking this through, Stephanie decided to make a phone call to reserve a nice spot for lunch.
