The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1106: Chapter 1106: Nathalie Dotes on Her Boyfriend with Full Boyfriend Power

The practice room Tiffany Olsen rented happened to be on the third floor. The green ivy covered the entire wall, and when the window was opened, a breeze flowed in, bringing a breath of coolness.

After opening the window, Tiffany put down her bag, took out her soft shoes meant for dancing, looked up and said somewhat awkwardly to the girl, ”Uh, Nathalie Quinlan, I’m sorry.”

The girl walked in and casually tossed her bag aside, then went straight to the electronic piano. The black-and-white keys produced tinkling notes as she played. She furrowed her brow, seemingly dissatisfied, stepped back, crossed her arms, rested her cool pale hand under her chin, and stared at the piano frame as though contemplating something.

It was not until a full minute later that Nathalie finally returned, adjusting the tone button on the left side of the electronic piano with one hand.

Her actions throughout were crisp and efficient. Only when she heard Tiffany speaking to her did Nathalie raise her head in mild confusion, her tone lazy and casual: ”What?”

Seeing Nathalie’s absurdly beautiful eyes fixed on her, Tiffany suddenly felt her limbs not knowing where to go. Her earlobes reddened slightly as she nervously grabbed at the seams of her pants and whispered softly, ”I didn’t know there wasn’t an air conditioner here. I just realized that after I got in. Do you feel hot? If you do, we can switch...”

The Chinese Medicine department is infamous for being poor!

From the professors to the department itself, everyone was absurdly strapped for cash.

This time, the two of them were representing the Chinese Medicine department for the opening ceremony. The department had already made a ”grand gesture” by allocating funds for them.

However, Tiffany hadn’t expected prices in Beijing to be so steep.

After receiving the money, she had searched online all night before finally finding this practice room. Although it was far from school, the price was the cheapest, and there was no need to wait for a turn.

She had initially thought she had struck gold and even bragged about it to her classmates in the group. Who could’ve guessed that cheap deals are often lacking in quality? Damn it, it didn’t even have air conditioning.

August was pretty sweltering.

Tiffany was used to it.

Sablehaven was known as one of the furnace cities, and she was accustomed to the heat during summer. Compared to Sablehaven, Beijing’s weather was much cooler.

She wasn’t bothered by it herself, but she felt bad dragging Nathalie into this mess. Especially since Nathalie didn’t have to go on stage in the first place—Tiffany had said she needed accompaniment, and Nathalie had graciously lent her support.

Thinking about the fresh deposit in her bank account and glancing at the girl’s porcelain-white profile, Tiffany gritted her teeth and decided to go all out, speaking boldly: ”If you feel too hot, we can switch to another place. I know there’s another practice room near Tsinghua University, but since it’s close to the opening ceremony, it might be crowded. We might need to queue up if we go now.”

Nathalie, who had initially thought Tiffany was about to say something else, tried her best to remain patient until Tiffany finished speaking. Her eyes lifted slightly at the corners as she casually pulled off her duckbill cap and tossed it aside, her tone simultaneously arrogant and vibrant: ”No need to switch.”

”Huh?” Tiffany awkwardly touched her ear. ”You don’t need to accommodate me...”

After their last meal together, some boys in the group had privately gossiped that their department’s Top Scholar in the College Entrance Examination seemed flawless in everything except for her aloof personality, which made her seem difficult to get along with.

But Tiffany personally felt Nathalie was quite approachable. Setting aside her somewhat rogue-like impression, Nathalie had stood up for everyone back at Sea View Pavilion, enabling them to secure a private booth smoothly.

”I’m not accommodating you.” Nathalie rotated her wrist, loosening up bones she hadn’t moved for a while, speaking with a casual tone that somehow carried a faint sense of indulgence: ”I think this place is great—quiet, no interruptions.”

Nathalie’s dark eyes glanced upward as she chuckled lightly, her shoulders relaxed and entirely at ease: ”Plus, isn’t there a fan here?”
