Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Help from Cora“This meat, it probably isn’t edible,” Lin Feng said, confirming the information in the scanner once more.

The scanner hadn’t explicitly stated whether the bug’s meat was edible or not, so he decided it was better not to risk it.

Hearing Lin Feng’s words, the others sighed with regret.

After all, the bug looked quite large; the meat on its body, once portioned, would surely amount to thirty or forty catties.

“He’s truly become a burden now,” Adrian said, licking his lips after healing Jin Chuan Yong.

“Just leave him here. It’s fine as long as he doesn’t die. And for food and water, give it to him last,” Lin Feng suggested after some thought. Although he really wanted to say they should just kill Jin Chuan Yong, doing so would probably be exactly what the Elevator wanted.

The Elevator had brought them into this floor, surely intending to kill them.

So, regardless of whether Jin Chuan Yong was useful or not, they couldn’t let the Elevator have its way.

“This gun only has two bullets left. If another creature like this comes, we might have to fight hand-to-hand,” Lin Feng said, sitting cross-legged on the ground and casually tossing out the laser pistol.

“So… should we change locations tomorrow?” Song Ce proposed.

“Ah, tomorrow is the third day?”

“Yes,” Qin An silently nodded, picking up a dry piece of wood and throwing it into the bonfire.

Everyone fell silent. It had only been two days, and they had already encountered such a dangerous situation, even starting to consider whether to leave the newly built safe house.

“Tomorrow, we’ll cover all the windows with iron plates, trying not to let any light through. This bug probably came because it saw the firelight,” Lin Feng analyzed. As for moving, there was no safer place nearby besides this mech wreckage, so they might as well take a gamble.

The others agreed and extinguished the bonfire. Although the temperature dropped a bit, their current twenty points of physique wouldn’t cause them to catch a cold.

Don’t forget, normal people only have 10 points.

After a safe night, it was the third day. Their main goal for the third day was to seal off the windows.

They reinforced and sealed everything with iron plates. Jin Chuan Yong also woke up around noon, looking pale and unable to stand.

“Why does this guy look like he’s had his blood sucked?” Qin An asked Lin Feng, pointing at the bewildered Jin Chuan Yong.

“Who knows? Maybe he really did get sucked. Anyway, he’s useless now. As long as he doesn’t die, it’s fine.”

“Brother Lin, the command room windows are all sealed. We’re going out to find food now,” Adrian told Lin Feng before heading out with Song Ce to search for food and water.

After finishing his tasks, Qin An also went to collect fuel. Lin Feng, as usual, went out to explore. After equipping the laser pistol, Lin Feng set off.

Today, he walked in the opposite direction from yesterday. Lin Feng only hoped to stumble upon the ruins of a human survival base or something similar.

The fact that there were city ruins in this place indicated that it must have been quite developed and populous in the past. Perhaps he would be lucky enough to find a shelter or similar building.

“No way, there’s not even a single living creature within a hundred-mile radius??” After walking for a while, Lin Feng despaired. Within the range of his spiritual perception, there wasn’t a single living creature, let alone normal animals; not even insectoid creatures.

“Hey, do you want to buy something?” Just then, a slightly familiar voice sounded beside Lin Feng.

Lin Feng turned around sharply, only to see a Floor Merchant had appeared behind him at some point.

Thinking about it, it seemed he hadn’t encountered a Floor Merchant in a long time. Lin Feng’s mood upon meeting a Floor Merchant on this floor was imaginable, but… he didn’t even have any gold coins, so what could he use to buy the Floor Merchant’s things??

“Hey! I know you, your name is Lin Feng, right?”

“Huh? Yes, you know me?” Lin Feng was stunned. This Floor Merchant didn’t look like Kola; the voice wasn’t similar, nor was the height.

“Haha, it really is you. Do you remember Kola? He told me about you. So, want to buy anything?” The Floor Merchant said, directly dumping everything from his backpack onto the ground.

At a glance, there was food, water, and weapons, everything.

But the only problem was that Lin Feng didn’t have any gold coins right now!

Floor Merchants never made losing deals; Lin Feng was very clear about that.

So, the only way to get these items for free was to rob the Floor Merchant in front of him, but his reputation among Floor Merchants seemed pretty good right now. Wouldn’t it be a shame to ruin it like that?

“What’s wrong? Don’t need anything? That’s right, a powerful Seeker like you probably doesn’t need these things. In that case, alright, see you next time.” With that, the Floor Merchant began to put everything back into his backpack.

“Wait!”

“Hmm?”

“Can I buy on credit?” Lin Feng tried to ask, prepared to be rejected, but to his surprise, the Floor Merchant in front of him immediately agreed.

This was somewhat inconsistent with the image of a Floor Merchant.

“You don’t need to be confused. After Kola traded with you last time, he… well, anyway, he deposited some gold coins for you. It’s completely enough to buy these things. Do you want to buy them?”

“Huh? Kola deposited some gold coins for me???”

“Yes, Kola said he couldn’t do much to help you, so he could only deposit some money for you on our side.”

“Thank me?” Lin Feng was confused again. Why would Kola thank him? He should be thanking Kola!

After all, Kola went to great lengths to find treasures for him, and Lin Feng ended up getting them for free.

“Well, just don’t worry about it too much. Just take whatever you want from these things.”

“Then I’ll take it all,” Lin Feng said decisively.

“Haha, alright, thank you for your patronage, see you next time!” The Floor Merchant said happily when Lin Feng took everything, then left the items on the ground and skipped away, disappearing.

Lin Feng then tallied the items.

Three cans of soft-shelled turtle egg preserve, five cans of tomato preserve, five cans of beef preserve, ten packs of emergency water, three pistols, and a long saber with Fire Enchantment. That was it.

This Floor Merchant clearly just returned from some apocalyptic world.

However, these items just happened to meet Lin Feng’s urgent needs.

So… why did Kola want to thank him??

He definitely had to ask him next time they met.

Lin Feng thought to himself. With these supplies, the remaining four days shouldn’t be much of a problem.
