Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Very delicious canned luncheon meatThe Floor Merchant brought quite a lot of things this time.

Soon, the ground was covered with many items, and then the Floor Merchant pulled out a lamp from somewhere, illuminating the goods on the ground.

”Boss, what do you need?” the Floor Merchant asked, rubbing his hands. He could sense that Lin Feng had traded with him many times before.

So calling him ’Boss’ was not an exaggeration.

On the ground, there were three Strength Potions, two Intelligence Potions, one Universal Antidote Pill, two boxes of delicious canned luncheon meat, and one Prospector’s Backpack.

Lin Feng waved his hand and bought everything except the canned luncheon meat.

”Boss, are you sure you don’t want this canned luncheon meat? It’s not just simple food.”

”Oh? What miraculous effects does it have?”

”Yes, after eating it, it can slightly increase your strength.”

”Really! I’ll take it.”

”Alright! That’ll be eighty-two gold coins in total.”

”??? Holy cow, what’s so expensive?” Lin Feng looked utterly bewildered.

”This Prospector’s Backpack, after the discount, costs thirty gold coins. It’s absolutely worth the price, as it can hold four slots of 200 kilograms of items.”

”Four slots? How come I remember it being two slots?”

”Uh, the one you saw before was probably a ’ Castrated version’ (castrated version), which I didn’t bring this time.”

A castrated version? Holy cow, didn’t Qin An get scammed out of his underwear last time?

Lin Feng vaguely remembered Qin An buying it for seventy or eighty gold coins.

”I see. How about seventy gold coins? I’ve bought so many things from you guys; this is my first time bargaining. Give me a little face, please.”

Seeing Lin Feng’s sincere attitude, the Floor Merchant was silent for a moment, then nodded slightly.

The nod was very small, clearly indicating that he was very unwilling.

”Hehe, here’s your money.” Lin Feng chuckled and handed over the gold coins.

”Thank you for your patronage. I’ll be leaving now; this world seems a bit dangerous.” The Floor Merchant looked around, then packed up his backpack and scurried away. Those short legs moved surprisingly fast.

Sitting back on the straw pile, Lin Feng opened a can of luncheon meat, and a burst of aroma erupted the moment the can was opened.

”Holy cow, it’s not even starchy meat?” Lin Feng picked up a piece of braised meat, swallowed, and then devoured it in one bite.

The aroma of the braised sauce instantly filled his mouth. It was quite chewy and not too salty, the kind that tasted better the more you ate it.

In no time, Lin Feng had finished the entire can.

He hadn’t expected the food sold by the Floor Merchant to be surprisingly delicious, and it even had special bonuses.

However, Lin Feng couldn’t feel anything at the moment; it must have added very little.

Just then, the sound of footsteps on grass came from outside. Lin Feng’s ears twitched. He then hid in a dark corner and activated Still Invisibility.

Soon, a slender figure walked in. Lin Feng thought the Floor Merchant had returned, but on closer inspection, he realized it was a disheveled little girl.

Judging by her familiar movements, she must have lived there before.

Just then, the little girl saw the empty can Lin Feng had left on the ground. Curious, she picked it up, and the lingering scent of meat in the can immediately made her stomach rumble.

Without caring where it came from, she opened her mouth to eat what was inside.

”That one’s already been eaten by me. Eat this instead,” Lin Feng said, opening another can of luncheon meat.

Bang! Lin Feng’s sudden appearance startled the little girl, and the can in her hand dropped to the ground, spilling all its contents.

”You, don’t come any closer!” The little girl, at some point, had pulled out a knife and was looking at Lin Feng with a tense expression.

”Hahaha, okay, okay, I won’t come closer. I’ll put this here for you to eat.” Lin Feng smiled and placed the can closer to the little girl.

”Little devil, even if I starve to death today, even if I bash my head against this, I won’t eat a single bite of your food!”

”Huh? Where do I look like a devil to you?” Lin Feng burst out laughing. Did he really resemble those beasts?

However, with his clean and tidy clothes, he did seem a bit out of place.

The girl still glared fiercely at Lin Feng, as if she was about to rush over and fight him to the death.

Seeing this, Lin Feng could only hastily invent a story about being a Chinese national who had just returned from abroad to fight the Japanese, and then spoke a few words in dialect. Only then did the little girl lower her guard.

Ultimately, she was just a child of about ten, still very easy to trick. At this moment, she was heartily eating the canned luncheon meat.

Soon, the entire can, soup and meat included, was eaten clean.

”Are you full?”

”I’m full.” The little girl nodded sheepishly, after all, she had just said she wouldn’t eat it even if she died.

Gurgle~~ Suddenly, an ill-timed sound came from the little girl’s stomach.

”Haha, Uncle still has food here. Eat as much as you want.” Lin Feng smiled and took out two self-heating hot pots and two self-heating rice meals from his cowhide backpack.

............

After a night, Lin Feng slowly opened his eyes.

Lin Feng had figured out why the little girl was in this dilapidated temple.

It turned out she had fled from another place, and her parents were killed by the devils during their escape.

Only she was left.

And she happened to know the general area of the Eighth Route Army base, and was planning to go find the Eighth Route Army.

Lin Feng decided to be a good person and sent her there, but he didn’t show himself in the end, or he would have had to explain himself again.

After agreeing with the little girl to keep his identity a secret, Lin Feng left, and the little girl carefully memorized Lin Feng’s appearance.

Since he could leave today, Lin Feng naturally wouldn’t stay put; otherwise, wouldn’t it be a waste of such a good opportunity?

Afterward, Lin Feng directly dismantled over thirty large and small blockhouses in the vicinity.

This made the devils think the Eighth Route Army was launching a full-scale counterattack, and they frantically sent reinforcements to several nearby counties.

However, not only were the devils bewildered, but the Eighth Route Army was even more so.

Because every time they received news and rushed over, all that was left were piles of spoils of war.

Later, they got used to it; wherever gunshots were heard, they would go there to pick up equipment.

Finally, after analysis, this army should be the same one that hijacked grain trucks and attacked county towns.

Thus, the only breakthrough lay with that five-limbed amputee devil. The puppet army in the county had not seen them, and upon questioning, only knew that this army had heavy artillery.

At this moment, this devil had regained consciousness, but he seemed a bit disoriented, as if his mental state wasn’t very good.

”Instructor, don’t you speak the devil’s language? Ask him what that army looks like.”

”Hmm, I’ll do my best.” The Instructor nodded with a solemn expression.
