Chapter 587: Chapter 580: Release That Girl!

”You’re here?” Li Guangfu came over, stretching out his right hand towards Li Lin, who seemed a bit perplexed and glanced at Lin Zifeng, who pretended he hadn’t seen anything.

There was no response for a long while.

Suddenly, Li Guangfu’s expression turned sour.

Yet, being somewhat of a dignified person, he managed a smile and brushed off his palm.

Seeing this, Lin Zifeng couldn’t help but scoff inwardly. Li Lin had mentioned how terrible Li Guangfu was, but now it seemed he was quite ordinary.

When Li Lin refused to shake hands, Lin Zifeng quickly extended his right hand to shake with Li Guangfu, but frustratingly, Li Guangfu withdrew his hand as soon as he saw Lin Zifeng reaching out, showing no intention of shaking hands at all.

The onlookers noticed everything, but Lin Zifeng didn’t get angry. He nodded slightly, smiled minutely, and subtly retracted his hand.

”Happy birthday,” Li Lin said in a subdued tone, neither warm nor fiery.

”Your presence is my joy,” Li Guangfu replied with squinted eyes and a smile.

”Guangfu, what’s your relationship with her?”

At that moment, a stylishly dressed, snobbish woman carelessly walked over from behind the liquor shelf, holding a cup of ”Lanqima.”

She walked with her proud head held high, barely looking at anyone, clearly the arrogant type.

Tsk tsk, these types, only they would match each other perfectly, Lin Zifeng thought and shook his head.

Compared to his own family’s matriarch, the difference was like heaven and earth. At least show some grace if you’re going to act aloof.

”Oh, old classmates, they were just classmates, very ordinary and common, merely calling each other from time to time. Hehe,” Lin Zifeng quickly stepped forward, showing an ’I’m a good guy’ smile, sunny and seemingly harmless.

”Is that so?” the woman coldly glanced at them both.

Li Guangfu didn’t say a word, just coughed quietly.

”Xiao Ai, please go and greet my friends and relatives for me, I’d like to chat here,” Li Guangfu said lightly, his tone carrying a hint of plea.

The woman uttered a faint ”oh” and took a deep look at Li Lin before turning her haughty head away and walking off.

”By the way, you are Mr. Li Guangfu, right?”

”And you are?”

”Oh, it’s like this. I am Li Lin’s good friend. I heard from Li Lin that you like her, is that true?” Lin Zifeng spoke bluntly, taking advantage of the moment’s privacy to strike directly to the point.

”What’s that to you?”

”Mr. Li, you might have misunderstood. I brought Linlin here today to hand her over to you, hearing that you quite like her and that our Li Lin has also taken a liking to you. However, this issue involves many unspeakable difficulties for her, so she never openly showed it. So today, I am bringing this timid girl over for you to meet, hoping Mr. Li would do us the honor,” he said.

”Oh! Is that true? Linlin!” Li Guangfu suddenly appeared quite excited, his eyes bulging almost as if he was ready to rush up and grab her hand.

Lin Zifeng spoke up, ”Even if there were any unhappiness or displeasures in the past, let’s turn a new page today, and from now on we can start afresh. Nobody should bring up anyone’s past wounds, how about that?”

”Sure!” Li Guangfu was extremely excited, for him, women really weren’t worth much. So what if he dumps his current girlfriend? After all, he likes Li Linlin, and having such a beautiful girlfriend like Li Linlin, why fear losing face?

”Last night, Linlin told me that she had been too harsh on you in the past, creating many issues, so today she not only wants to make up with you but also wants to apologize. I, in fact, truly hope you two can genuinely move forward together. I know you can definitely make Linlin happy, and I believe in your character. Handsome as you are, and looking at your family background, it’s not much different. Most importantly, you have the heart to dump your current girlfriend.”

Lin Zifeng looked around and smiled, ”But then? You now have a new girlfriend, so, you see...”

Li Guangfu felt as light as a feather from Lin Zifeng’s praise, and declared, ”Since everything has been said, I thought Linlin would be angry with me, but since Linlin is so proactive, what more can I say? I like Linlin, so today I must clarify this to everyone.” Li Guangfu excitedly was about to call out to everyone to express his feelings for Li Lin.

”Hey! Wait a minute.” Lin Zifeng quickly waved his hand to interrupt him.

”What? Is there something else? Has Linlin changed her mind? I truly like Linlin, you know. If Linlin is willing to be with me, I’ll clarify things today. So what if I break up with my current girlfriend?” Li Guangfu posed, making it seem like the whole world revolved around him.

For Li Guangfu, women were just tools to vent, so what if he dumps his current girlfriend? They had only been together a few months, and he was tired of playing with her. With some money at home and with his pretty-boy face, why worry about not having a girlfriend? Even if he grew tired of Li Lin one day, he could always find another.

”Let’s do this: since there have been some awkward situations between you two in the past, but not to the extent that you can never see each other again, since you say you like Linlin, why don’t you two hug now? Anyway, you’ll be announcing your love later, and this will turn a new page. Afterwards, you two can live happily together,” he said.

”Sure, what do you think, Linlin?” Li Guangfu saw that Li Lin had a strange expression and genuinely couldn’t grasp whether she was still mad at him.

Still, a hug first would feel safest.

Lin Zifeng slowly turned his body away, leaving a chance for Li Guangfu and Li Lin.

Li Lin didn’t move, although Lin Zifeng had warned her beforehand, she was still a bit hesitant.

Lin Zifeng nudged her with his arm.

Seeing Li Lin still unresponsive, Lin Zifeng also became anxious.

Finally, Lin Zifeng, having no other options, forcefully pushed Li Lin into Li Guangfu’s arms, and instantly Li Guangfu’s face curled into a gleeful grin.

As Lin Zifeng forcefully pushed Li Lin without warning, she screamed in surprise.

Li Guangfu grabbed Li Lin, his hands beginning to wander.

Lin Zifeng suddenly turned around and shouted loudly, ”Let go of her! What are you doing? What are you doing?”

Everyone in the private room turned their gaze toward Li Guangfu.

Li Lin quickly pushed Li Guangfu away and retreated into Lin Zifeng’s embrace.

”Didn’t I tell you to stop bothering Li Lin? How shameless can you get!”

”What’s going on here?”

As the private room was not very large, Lin Zifeng’s voice filled the room, leaving everyone clueless about what had transpired. They all hurried over, but they had already witnessed the scene of Li Guangfu hugging Li Lin.

”What’s the matter, Guangfu?” A group of men and women came up and anxiously inquired.

”What do you mean!” Li Guangfu was panic-stricken and clueless as to what had happened. Just as Lin Zifeng had been so respectful to him, why did his face change in the next moment?
