Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 558: Chapter 551: What Does It Feel Like to Kill?

”Lin, Brother Lin!”

Shao Huo, covered in blood, was at a loss what to do with his hands as he saw Lin Zifeng watching him from a distance.

Gradually, he lowered his head, unsure what to say now.

Lin Zifeng squinted his eyes and slowly walked up to him, patted his shoulder, and smiled, ”You did nothing wrong.”

Huh?! Shao Huo was startled, lifting his eyes to look at Lin Zifeng, and said with a trembling voice, ”Lin, Brother Lin...”

”You don’t need to say anything right now, just act as if nothing happened. Continue to live your life as usual, and don’t let those unnecessary things disturb you.”

Staring into Lin Zifeng’s sharp, glittering eyes, Shao Huo slowly bowed his head, his mind at a loss for words.

But soon, Shao Huo finally made up his mind.

”Brother Lin, I want to follow you! I don’t want to be bullied by others anymore. I don’t want to suffer from their disdain, please Brother Lin, help me. I have nothing now, as long as I can follow Brother Lin, even if it means giving up my life, I’m willing.”

Shao Huo suddenly looked up, his eyes shimmering as he looked into Lin Zifeng’s eyes, clearly conveying his sincerity. He had already made his choice.

”Follow me?” Lin Zifeng laughed, saying, ”Do you know what it means to follow me?” Lin Zifeng asked in return.

”Brother Lin, I don’t care. As long as I can be with you, I’m willing to do anything. I know Brother Lin, you must have a way out, I have nothing now, only this worthless life. As long as Brother Lin is willing to take me in, even if you just let me serve tea and water, I’d be willing.”

”Haha, it’s not as serious as you say.” Lin Zifeng suddenly laughed, his cold gaze flickering with a hint of amusement.

”Brother Lin, does that mean you agree?” Shao Huo seemed a bit excited, his sleazy face revealing a trace of playfulness again. It was evident that despite his toughness, the guy’s nature was still hard to change.

”But let me tell you, following me, your life could be over at any time, are you afraid?” Lin Zifeng patted his skinny shoulder again.

”Not afraid! As long as I can be with Brother Lin, even if my life isn’t mine anymore in the future, I won’t utter a word of regret.” Shao Huo emphatically nodded his head.

Because he saw hope in Lin Zifeng, saw a future for himself.

Rather than living a mediocre life without glimpsing any hope for the future, he figured it’d be better to take a gamble with Lin Zifeng...

For the afternoon classes, neither of them returned to the Archaeology Department. Qiu Dongwei’s injury was quietly taken care of by Lin Zifeng.

On the grass outside Yunhai University, the two sat on the lawn drinking beer, listening to Shao Huo talk about the treatment he had received over the years—it was undeniable that the guy had real resilience.

Back then, Lin Zifeng couldn’t bear the humiliation from his classmates, which led to him dropping out.

Yet Shao Huo endured all the way to university.

One could imagine how tragic his life had been over the years.

”Brother Lin, you won’t laugh at me after hearing what I just said, will you?” Shao Huo sighed, turning his head back to speak.

”Laugh my ass, you lose if you take it seriously.”

”I’ve come from a poor family since I was young, and I’ve always faced others with a jest, for fear that some day I might accidentally offend someone and get whacked. But no matter how good I try to be, it seems like the world is just that heartless. The nicer you are to others, pretending to be oblivious, the more viciously they’ll trample you. Once someone shits on your head for the first time, you’re doomed to be their punching bag. Now I understand, as long as you’re tough enough, strong enough! Then others won’t dare to mess with you. That’s why, Brother Lin, I need your help, I want to follow you from now on.”

With that, Shao Huo’s gaze became even more resolute.

Lin Zifeng smiled slightly, bumped his chest with his fist, and laughed, ”How did it feel to kill?”

”Great!”

Shao Huo didn’t even have to think before blurting it out because he knew that Lin Zifeng must have killed someone before! And that night when he himself had committed murder, Zifeng had been there too, and they both tacitly understood each other.

But just then, the basketball court suddenly became noisy.

A few youths who looked like students were being pushed around by a group of thugs.

And one of the thugs even slapped one of the students across the face.

This made Lin Zifeng and Shao Huo both turn their heads to look.

”Shit! You don’t have money but still you play basketball? Didn’t I warn you a few days ago, how could you forget so quickly?”

”Big brother, we really don’t have any money on us, we are just poor students.”

The three student-looking youths all bowed their heads, letting the thugs slap them around, too timid even to raise their heads.

”You ****** cry now!” Almost while speaking, that thug slapped one of the student-looking youths again, knocking him to the ground with a slap.

”How many times have I warned you guys? Either bring money, or find some long-legged, busty girls from your school to work as hostesses in our boss’s bar. Have you all not been listening?”

The thug yelled.

”Big brother, we really can’t do stuff like that...”

”Smack!”

”You still dare to talk back to me? Can’t do it, then just wait to be picked up dead tomorrow night!” The thug slapped him hard again.

”Brother Lin, I want to help them,” Shao Huo suddenly said, turning back.

”Why?”

”Because we are all poor students!”

”Go ahead, just don’t get bloodied in broad daylight,” Lin Zifeng nodded.

Through their conversation, Lin Zifeng had also figured it out.

If the information provided by Long Yunfei was correct, then this group of thugs should be the lackeys of the 13K in the East District of Zhonghai City.

Zhonghai City is divided into four districts: east, south, west, and north, with the East District being the most chaotic and disorderly.

The East District is also the most backward and poorest area in Zhonghai City. It has always been an economic development zone waiting to be developed, and development has still not been adequately addressed. Moreover, it doesn’t have the same level of economic prosperity as the other three major districts. The big shots in Zhonghai City’s underworld didn’t rate the East District’s lean pickings very highly, which has resulted in the East District being divided into three small powers.

These are 13K, Star Sect, and another is the Butterfly Sect led by Zhang Yuxuan and her sister.

Yunhai University just happens to be located on the border of the East District and West District, with almost half of Yunhai University falling within the scope of the East District.

These poor students have been bullied by the local thugs, and it’s been happening for more than a day or two.

From the dialogue of those thugs just now, they are most likely looking for trouble with these poor students or trying to use them to make some dirty money.

You have to understand that nowadays, many underworld-protected bars and the like have employed many college students to accompany drinkers.

Female college students have become a trend of the times, especially in those nightclubs, where the hostesses are all university students, and those bosses particularly like to take advantage of these innocent girls fresh out of school.

But these students have long since become tarnished at school; heaven knows whether they are dark or pink down there?
