Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 533: Chapter 526: Testing

”Evidence of a crime? What evidence?” Director Zheng puffed out his belly and looked at him with interest, saying, ”Let’s see this evidence you’re talking about.”

”These are all the accounts disbursed by the trade department over the past three months from the finance department. Please personally review them, Director Zheng,” Lin Zifeng said, as he pulled the accounts from his pocket and handed them to Director Zheng.

After receiving the accounts, Director Zheng glanced around playfully and said, ”Is this it?”

”Isn’t this enough?” Lin Zifeng said coldly.

”Haha, my boy, do you naively think these few scraps of paper are evidence of a crime? Do you have any witness or material evidence?” Director Zheng, his face full of smiles, turned to Nangong Bing and laughed, ”President Nangong, do you believe in this boy’s ’evidence’?”

Director Zheng’s weathered face revealed a hint of a playful smile, his presence putting pressure on Nangong Bing.

Nangong Bing’s expression softened slightly and he spoke seriously, ”Director Zheng, the security department might have been careless this time causing such a disturbance. Since everything is fine now, I don’t think you would want to pursue this matter further, right?” Nangong Bing also fixed his gaze firmly on Director Zheng, the implication clear that if Zheng continued to press the issue, no one would benefit.

”Hehe, President Nangong really has a deep and far-sighted strategy.” Director Zheng’s expression changed slightly as he chuckled. He understood that Nangong Bing was covering for Lin Zifeng. Since Nangong Bing did not wish to continue pursuing the matter, Director Zheng, not being a fool, knew that escalating the issue would benefit no one.

”Wait a minute!”

”Do you have anything else?” Nangong Bing asked, her eyes sharp as she looked at Lin Zifeng.

”President, are we just going to let these ’evidence’ go? The documents clearly record all the fraudulent activities in trade for the past three months. Aren’t you going to take a look?” Lin Zifeng could not understand what game these corporate heavyweights were playing. Now the evidence was right in front of them, and if it were to be handled immediately, Sun Xiaonao, no matter how powerful her backing might be, would be of no consequence. Even if she accused him of rape, he was not afraid.

Unfortunately, although Lin Zifeng had strong backing, Nangong Bing was completely unaware of his identity. Nangong Bing had always treated Lin Zifeng as just an ordinary security guard waiting to die.

To prevent things from escalating, Nangong Bing did not want Lin Zifeng to take risks.

”Haha, my boy, just because you say it’s evidence, does that make it so? Who would believe your words?” Director Zheng suddenly turned around, his interest piqued as he looked at him.

”Isn’t it simple for Director Zheng to bring out the truth if it really is evidence?” Lin Zifeng mocked.

”You! Do you know you’re playing with fire?” Director Zheng said coldly, leaning in close and whispering a threat to Lin Zifeng.

”Haha, Director Zheng, if that’s what you’re claiming, then today I, Lin Zifeng, will take that risk,” Lin Zifeng shrugged nonchalantly, undeterred by the threat from a mere director.

”Enough! This entire thing has been a misunderstanding. I hope no one else brings it up again.” Nangong Bing scanned the room with cold eyes, then turned to Sun Xiaonao and said sternly, ”Minister Sun, you know what to do now, right?”

”I, I... President Nangong, I’ve been framed, he, he tried to rape me!”

”Whether or not a strong woman harassed you, I don’t know, but now I hope no one ever mentions this matter again,” Nangong Bing’s voice was cold, her words like frost striking Sun Xiaonao’s heart, causing Sun Xiaonao to shiver uncontrollably.

”Lin Zifeng, come with me.” Nangong Bing called out coldly.

”Boss... Okay, since you’re not pursuing it, why the hell am I working so hard for you?” Lin Zifeng shrugged his shoulders, if Nangong Bing herself wasn’t pursuing the issue, why should he, a mere security guard, meddle?

After seeing Nangong Bing leave with the security guard, the previously feigned calm Director Zheng suddenly sighed in relief. If Nangong Bing had really decided to pursue the matter, not only would Sun Xiaonao be doomed, but he likely would have been implicated as well.

Luckily, Nangong Bing seemed to have a soft spot for that security guard and didn’t want to escalate things to a life or death situation. All her talk was essentially to protect that security guard.

This allowed the cunning Director Zheng to see through Nangong Bing’s intentions at a glance.

If Nangong Bing had decided to recklessly target Sun Xiaonao, Director Zheng would have been done for as well!

”Good! Good! Very good!” Director Zheng hurriedly stepped forward to embrace Sun Xiaonao, praising him repeatedly.

”Whimper, I was almost scared to death, and you say it’s fine? Fine my ass,” Sun Xiaonao sobbed, clinging tightly to the man. Under Nangong Bing’s intimidating gaze, no one dared to meet her eye. Such an imposing woman, barely anyone within Tianyu Group dared to challenge her, except for a very few.

...

”Bang!” Leading Lin Zifeng, Nangong Bing’s fair face was slowly showing signs of anger. As she stepped in high heels into the office and forcefully pushed open the door, she plopped down on the sofa and demanded, ”Speak! What were you planning on doing with Director Sun today?”

”I didn’t do anything.” Lin Zifeng was also startled, it seemed that the old lady had misunderstood him.

”You say you did nothing? Her clothes were all taken off, and you still claim you did nothing? Mr. Lin, I am truly disappointed in you!” Nangong Bing said, her chest heaving with anger. She felt like rushing forward and slapping him. Her mood was not only gloomy, but also filled with endless jealousy. When she opened the door and saw someone embracing Sun Xiaonao, Nangong Bing almost fainted, constantly calling herself his wife, yet there he was, involved with Sun Xiaonao in that matter.

No matter how smart any woman is, they all seem foolish when it comes to matters of the heart.

Especially someone as proud as Nangong Bing, who has a cleanliness obsession when it comes to her feelings. She absolutely did not want her man to mess with any other woman.

”Old lady, don’t you know what kind of person I am by now? Do you really think I’d be interested in that kind of vulgar woman? You underestimate me too much,” Lin Zifeng said expressionlessly.

”Humph, I don’t know what you are, but I only believe what I see. If it weren’t for my efforts to suppress this affair today, even if you could have managed something with Sun Xiaonao, what then? If she countered by accusing you of molestation, you’d have to compensate her!”

”Accuse me? How? I haven’t done anything, do you think she could really accuse me? Nangong Bing, you’ve really disappointed me. Can’t you see I was framed?”

Lin Zifeng was also getting heated. Clearly, Sun Xiaonao had set him up. Not only did he not receive Nangong Bing’s understanding, but she was also throwing fuel on his fire. Even Lin Zifeng, good-tempered as he was, couldn’t bear such injustice.
