Chapter 530: Chapter 523: Nangong Bing’s Emotional Obsessiveness

”Evidence? What evidence?” Director Zheng puffed out his stomach, looking at him with interest as he said, ”Let’s see what evidence you have.”

”These are all the accounts paid out by the Commerce Department to the Finance Department in the past three months. Please, Director Zheng, would you take a personal look?” Zifeng took the accounts out of his pocket and handed them to Director Zheng.

After taking the accounts, Director Zheng glanced around briefly and mockingly said, ”Just this?”

”Isn’t this enough?” Zifeng replied coldly.

”Haha, little boy, with just these few shabby pieces of paper you naively think these are evidence? Do you have any witnesses or physical evidence?” Director Zheng smiled broadly, turning to Nangong Bing and said, ”President Nangong, would you believe this little boy’s evidence?”

A mischievous smile appeared on the old face of Director Zheng, his presence pressing towards Nangong Bing.

Nangong Bing’s expression eased slightly as he earnestly said, ”Director Zheng, perhaps the security department was careless for a moment, which caused such a stir. Now that it’s all resolved, I hope you won’t pursue this matter any further, right?” Nangong Bing’s stare was as sharp as a hook, locking onto Director Zheng. His implication was clear—if Director Zheng continued to pursue the matter, it wouldn’t benefit anyone.

”Hehe, President Nangong is indeed far-sighted,” Director Zheng’s expression changed slightly as he chuckled. He understood that Nangong Bing was covering for Lin Zifeng. Since Nangong Bing didn’t want to pursue further, neither did he, Director Zheng, want to create a fuss that would end up benefiting no one.

”Wait a minute!”

”Is there anything else you would like?” Nangong Bing, her eyes fierce, looked at Lin Zifeng.

”President, are we just going to overlook this evidence? It clearly records all the falsified accounting by the Commerce Department over the last three months. Don’t you want to look at it?” Zifeng couldn’t understand what these corporate bigshots were playing at. Now, with the evidence right before their eyes, if it were exposed right now, Sun Xiaonao’s powerful background would be useless. Even if she accused him of assault, he would not be afraid.

But unfortunately, although Zifeng was backed by powerful forces, Nangong Bing had no idea about his identity and had always thought of Zifeng as just an ordinary security guard waiting for handouts.

To prevent the issue from escalating, Nangong Bing still didn’t want Zifeng to take any risks.

”Haha, little boy, you call this evidence? Who would believe your word?” Director Zheng suddenly turned, looking at him with interest.

”Isn’t it easy to determine if these are evidence or not by just examining them, Director Zheng?” Zifeng retorted mockingly.

”You! Do you know that you are playing with fire?” Director Zheng’s face turned cold as he leaned close to Zifeng and whispered threateningly.

”Haha, if that is what you say, Director Zheng, then I, Lin Zifeng, will take the risk today,” Lin Zifeng shrugged indifferently. Just because he was a minor director, he dared to threaten him?

”Enough! This has all been a misunderstanding. I don’t want anyone to bring up this matter again.” Nangong Bing’s cold eyes swept toward Sun Xiaonao in the corner as she said coldly, ”Minister Sun, you know what to do, right?”

”I, I... President Nangong, I’ve been wronged. He, he tried to...”

”Whether there’s a strong woman involved or not, I don’t know, but now I hope no one ever brings it up again.” Nangong Bing’s voice was very cold, icy as frost knocking against Sun Xiaonao’s heart, causing her to shudder uncontrollably.

”Lin Zifeng, come with me.” Nangong Bing summoned coldly.

”Boss... Well, since you’re not pursuing it, why the hell should I kill myself working for you?” Lin Zifeng shrugged his shoulders; if even Nangong Bing wasn’t insisting, why should he, a mere security guard, stick his nose into it?

Seeing Nangong Bing walk away with the security guard, the normally calm Director Zheng suddenly sighed with relief. Had Nangong Bing really pressed the issue, not only would Sun Xiaonao have been doomed, but even he himself might have been implicated.

Luckily for him, Nangong Bing seemed rather concerned about the security guard and didn’t want a fight to the death; all her talk was just trying to protect him.

This let the cunning Director Zheng instantly understand Nangong Bing’s thoughts.

If Nangong Bing had recklessly pursued Sun Xiaonao just now, Director Zheng would have been in deep trouble too!

”Good! Very good!” Director Zheng hurriedly stepped forward and lifted Sun Xiaonao up, praising repeatedly.

”Wah, I was almost scared to death, and you say ’good,’ what good is it?” Sun Xiaonao wept and clung to him. Under Nangong Bing and Ling Li’s gaze, no one dared to meet her eyes. Such was this decisive woman who, throughout Tianyu Group, was feared by almost everyone except for a few who dared to confront her.

...

”Slam!” Leading Lin Zifeng, Nangong Bing’s fair face began to show a trace of anger. She stormed into the office in her black high heels, flung the door open violently, and slumped onto the couch, demanding, ”Tell me! What were you planning to do with Minister Sun today?”

”I didn’t do anything.” Lin Zifeng was also startled, seeing that she really had misunderstood him.

”Still saying you did nothing? Her clothes were off, and yet you claim you did nothing? Lin, I’m so disappointed in you!” Nangong Bing was so furious that her chest heaved violently. She wished she could rush up and slap him twice, feeling not only frustrated but also overwhelmed with jealousy. When she saw someone holding Sun Xiaonao in their arms calling her ’wife,’ but he, he was with Sun Xiaonao doing that thing.

No matter how smart women are, they always seem foolish when it comes to relationships.

Especially someone as proud as Nangong Bing, who had a cleanliness fixation about relationships, absolutely did not want her man to be involved with any other woman.

”Old Buddha, don’t you know what kind of person I am by now? Do you think I’d be interested in such vulgar trash? You’re really underestimating me,” Lin Zifeng said expressionlessly.

”Hmph, I don’t know what you are for sure, but I only believe what I see. Had I not done everything today to suppress this matter, even if you managed to do something to Sun Xiaonao, so what? If she turned around and accused you of rape, you’d still have to compensate!”

”Accuse me? How? I didn’t do anything; do you think she can accuse me? I’m so disappointed in you, Nangong Bing. Can’t you see I was framed?”

Lin Zifeng was also getting angry. This was clearly Sun Xiaonao setting him up. Not only did he not receive any sympathy from Nangong Bing, but she was also venting her rage on him. Even if Lin Zifeng was usually good-tempered, he couldn’t bear such injustice.
