Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 524: Chapter 517: Promoting to Director of Security

That night, almost everyone related to Scar at the Huangtian Nightclub in the South District of Zhonghai City was slaughtered!

Apart from some innocents, the CIA, known as the most comprehensive intelligence agency in Huaxia, had investigated almost all the members of the Huangtian Nightclub.

Every gang involved in crime, under the powerful search of the CIA, almost each member of the Shadow Group had a file in their hands.

By the next morning’s dawn, the entire Huangtian Nightclub was in complete disarray, apart from the customers who had escaped the night before, any criminal gang related to Scar was almost entirely dead inside, with no survivors!

In order to prevent the media from exposing this event, the CIA’s Pushing Hands covered up many true details, but the police indeed found a significant amount of drug trafficking at Huangtian Nightclub to appease the public.

The police then framed this massacre as a drug trafficking case, alleging that divergences during the transaction led to a deadly shootout.

The media is powerful, but the government is even mightier.

Through the manipulation of the CIA, the entire massacre became an eternal mystery, virtually unknown to anyone except those who experienced it.

By the evening of the third day, inside Sand Castle on the outskirts of Zhonghai City, it swarmed with Shadow Group members.

After a bout of bombastic declarations from Black Hawk and Bu Chen, the two hundred Shadow Group members below were incredibly stirred.

Lin Zifeng did not show his face; ever since its creation, the Shadow Group had been managed by others like Black Hawk, while he was merely a figurehead.

The massacre of the Azure Dragon Sect was also overlooked by Long Zaitian, who turned a blind eye.

Anyway, deadly skirmishes were countless on the streets, and it didn’t matter who ruled.

The next day, Su Ni took a confidential tip directly to Li Lin’s home and found Lin Zifeng.

”Yo, Officer Su, what brings you here today?” Lin Zifeng said with a grin, stroking his chin.

”Lin, look, I’ve always said that the bad guys will get what’s coming to them, right? Here’s yesterday’s morning paper. See, the Azure Dragon Sect was secretly dealing drugs. The deal went sour, leading to a shootout between two parties. The entire Huangtian Nightclub was wiped out last night, finally solving this egregious case and ensuring Li Lin’s safety, not to mention giving the citizens of Zhonghai City some peace of mind.” Su Ni, with her flushed, pretty face from her recent excitable run, was breathless, her chest heaving in a way that seemed like her clothes might burst at any moment.

”Uh, it seems you really are a modern-day prophet, Officer Su. Even this you predicted, truly Zhonghai City’s number one police beauty.” Lin Zifeng praised, thumb up.

”Hmph! Cut out the flattery, I don’t fall for that. Now you finally understand what I meant when I said good people are rewarded and bad people will ultimately face retribution.”

”Yes, yes. Bad people will eventually face retribution.” Lin Zifeng nodded.

”Alright, alright, as long as Linlin is fine, that’s what matters. Now that the Azure Dragon Gang has been wiped out, Linlin doesn’t have to worry anymore.”

”Thank you, Sister Su Ni.” At that moment, Li Lin changed into a new set of clothes and came out of her room, her eyes squinting sweetly.

”No problem, it’s all in the line of duty. Lin’er, you don’t have to worry anymore. The threat to you, Scar, also died in a clash a few days ago.”

”He, he actually died?” Li Lin covered her lips, barely able to hide her excitement.

”Haha, girl, from now on, just focus on working and living well, you don’t have to worry about threats anymore. I, Su Ni, said bad people get what they deserve, and it’s proven true now.” Su Ni smiled broadly, walked up to Li Lin, and hugged her shoulders warmly, both laughing and talking.

But as she passed by Lin Zifeng, Su Ni’s voluptuous figure inadvertently brushed against Lin Zifeng’s chest, the electric shock-like sensation admittedly made Lin Zifeng’s mind wander briefly.

”Thank you, Sister Su Ni.” Li Lin smiled, squinting her eyes.

”No problem, no problem. Oh, I have some stuff to handle back at the station; I’ll be leaving now. You guys chat.”

”Su Ni, won’t you stay a bit longer? Stay for lunch.”

”No, girl, I still have many cases unresolved today, I better head back,” Su Ni said with a smile, waving her hand.

”Let me walk you out.”

”Sure.” Su Ni didn’t refuse but felt a little pleasure inside.

”How about that? Happy now?” Su Ni suddenly turned her head to look at him.

”What do you mean by how about that?” Lin Zifeng was confused, not understanding her meaning.

”Now that the Azure Dragon Gang is destroyed, aren’t you happy?” Su Ni asked.

”Heh, it’s not like I need to show it,” Lin Zifeng shrugged and said with a wry smile.

The Azure Dragon Sect had been annihilated under Lin Zifeng’s own leadership of the Shadow Group. He had no reason to be happy.

”Talking to you is like playing the lute to a cow.” Seeing his oblivious demeanor, Su Ni turned ladylike for once, realizing that gentle methods wouldn’t work with this guy.

Her true nature was revealed all at once.

Calling herself ”this old lady” again and again.

”Goodbye, Officer Su,” Lin Zifeng waved.

”Goodbye!”

Su Ni glared at him harshly, suddenly turning back to spit out, ”No goodbyes! Never again!”

”Er, Officer Su, do come by when you have time!”

”Pfft—”

Su Ni nearly slipped and fell.

This guy stood at the doorway, waving at Su Ni as she left, resembling the owner of some store.

This instantly drew the weird gazes of the passersby on the street toward Su Ni.

Only when Su Ni left with a stern face did he slowly return to Li Lin’s house.

After staying at Li Lin’s house for a few hours, he returned to the company, bored. The formation of the Shadow Group was just a beginning, and all the plans were brewing in his mind, not urgent for now.

Due to Nangong Bing’s leave in recent days, the entire company was almost in chaos. Thankfully, Nangong Bing came back just in time to handle the situation and stabilize the company.

It wasn’t that Zhang Xixi lacked capability, but some parasites in the company took advantage of Nangong Bing’s few days off to mess up the company’s finances completely. At Nangong Bing’s firm request, Lin Zifeng was promoted directly from the security department to head of the security department!

He was also appointed as the head of finance, and this promotion of Lin Zifeng indeed raised many eyebrows. A lowly guard was promoted several ranks in one go! From a mere guard to head of the security department, and he even got a position as head of finance, which must have made many people green with envy.

Receiving Nangong Bing’s orders, Lin Zifeng was instructed to review the recently loss-making accounts from the trade department to the PR department. After all, the main finances of the company flowed through these two major departments—the PR department was responsible for attracting investment, while the trade department handled foreign exchange and trade. Both departments served similar purposes, but now everyone involved had dirty hands. With Nangong Bing’s intelligence, how could she not understand where the financial problems lay?

Owing to certain board members, Nangong Bing couldn’t take direct action herself, thus she had Lin Zifeng climb the ranks to help her.
