After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1561: Chapter 1565: Did You Get That Money?

After returning to the base, Leng Zirui took Xu Xia into his dormitory, prepared some food, drink, and entertainment for her, and let her rest at her leisure while he quickly got busy with his own tasks.

Tomorrow Shen Yizhou is getting married, and he needs to set aside a day, so he must arrange his work today.

Rushing to the command center, Leng Zirui casually opened a bottle of water, took a sip, and asked,

”How has Seo Fei been moving these past two days?”

”She went shopping this morning and bought a dress, nothing else special,” the subordinate at the computer stretched his arms, ”The branch office just called, asking how you intend to handle the Ji Li case.”

Leng Zirui pulled a chair and sat next to him, ”Have you organized the surveillance data I asked for?!”

”It’s already organized. The footage from the three cameras you mentioned shows the same scenes for ten minutes,” the subordinate tapped on the keyboard to bring up a set of images, ”I also complied with your instructions and sorted out the people who left the hotel half an hour after the incident; there were nine people in total, consisting of four men and five women. Here are their snapshot data.”

On the computer screen, the nine snapshot photos immediately appeared.

”Among them, two are hotel staff temporarily switching shifts, three were visitors to the hotel, and two were guests who checked out. We’ve checked these seven people’s information, and there are no loopholes. The details of the remaining two couldn’t be found!” the subordinate enlarged two of the images, with one clear and the other just a blurry profile, ”This person, I haven’t been able to capture a front face. I don’t know if he deliberately avoided the cameras or what. We asked the doorman on duty that night, and he said he had a profound impression of this person because the young man tipped him a hundred U.S. dollars.”

A hundred U.S. dollars as a tip, that is indeed a bit strange.

Moreover, with cameras in the hotel lobby and entrance, unless deliberately avoiding them, it should be impossible not to capture a frontal image.

Can an ordinary, normal person be so skilled in avoiding cameras?!

The answer is, of course, no.

Leng Zirui frowned at the screen, looking at the man without a visible face, ”Did you manage to get that bill?”

The subordinate shrugged, ”The doorman said he happened to need cash urgently, so he exchanged it for Renminbi and spent it!”

”Can the doorman remember what he looks like?”

”He only remembers he’s Asian and very handsome, but can’t recall anything else.”

Leng Zirui sighed lightly. Although there are some clues, it can only prove for now that this was definitely a murder, with no further progress.

”Pull out all the video from the elevator five minutes before and after this man left, along with the lobby footage for me. I refuse to believe we can’t get a clear face of his!”

The subordinate immediately retrieved the video he requested and gave up his spot in front of the computer. Leng Zirui sat down and began searching through each one.

The footage totaled over an hour. Leng Zirui watched all the videos carefully several times, yet only found a blurry side profile in the end.

”Find a way to clarify this image!” Leng Zirui glanced at his watch and rubbed his nose as he stood up, ”I have things to do tomorrow; if there’s any progress, contact me directly by phone.”
