After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1557: Chapter 1561: Sacrifice for the Next Generation

”Oh my!” Huangfu Ruo exclaimed exaggeratedly, ”So getting married really does change things, Brother Yizhou. Aren’t you and my Sister Tongya always bickering?”

Shen Yizhou turned his face and winked at her, ”You just don’t get it. Medical research shows that when a woman is pregnant, she needs to be in a good mood. That way, the baby will be prettier. I’m totally sacrificing for the next generation.”

Tong Ya pretended to be angry and pushed him away, ”So you’re tricking me? Then the wedding’s off!”

”No, no, don’t do that!” Shen Yizhou hurriedly moved closer with a smile, ”I’m just trying to save a little face here. You’re the greatest, you’re the prettiest. Please, don’t abandon this poor little boat!”

Everyone burst into laughter once more.

Tong Ya rolled her eyes at him playfully, ”Alright, enough with the jokes. Go wash your face and try on the outfit!”

The staff approached to lead Shen Yizhou to the changing room, and Leng Zimo sent Luo Jun in as well to try on his little suit.

”Where are your bridesmaids and groomsmen?!” Luo Xiaoqian glanced toward the distant fitting rooms, ”Why haven’t I seen any of them?”

”Zirui called me this morning, saying once Xu Xia wakes up, he’ll bring her over.” Tong Ya raised her arm, letting the staff adjust her dress, ”Tighten this a bit more here, but the waist is fine, don’t tighten it anymore.”

”Are those two really a thing or not?!” Huangfu Ruo turned her face to Luo Xiaoqian.

Luo Xiaoqian shrugged her shoulders, ”You’d probably have to ask the people involved to know that.”

...

...

Xu Xia’s apartment.

Leng Zirui moved the hot towel aside and carefully dried her feet with a tissue before applying medicinal oil to her ankle.

After putting the oil away in his cargo pants pocket, Leng Zirui opened the wardrobe, took out a comfortable casual outfit, placed it beside her, then opened the drawer to get a pair of cotton socks. He squatted in front of her, holding her uninjured foot to help her put on the socks.

Seeing this, Xu Xia quickly tried to pull her foot back, ”I can do it myself...”

Holding her ankle with one hand, Leng Zirui deftly pulled the sock on for her. Before she could react, he had already gently put the other sock on her injured foot.

”All done. Finish dressing yourself and call me when you’re ready!” He lifted her chin with his finger and spoke in a threatening tone, ”Be a good girl, or I’ll kiss you every time you’re naughty!”

Xu Xia opened her mouth to retort, ”You...”

”What about me?!” Leng Zirui leaned his face close to hers, stopping just short of touching, ”A rascal? Shameless?!”

His breath was so close, her heart couldn’t keep its normal rhythm.

Xu Xia turned her face to the side, ”I don’t have time for you. Get out, I need to change!”

”Good girl!” Leng Zirui chuckled, pinching her chin, then stood up and walked towards the door. Holding the door handle, he turned back and gave her a mischievous smile, ”If you want me to kiss you, just go ahead and be disobedient!”

He knew her personality all too well. This was absolutely the best way to get her to behave.

Xu Xia pouted, ”Not interested!”

”But I am!” he said with a laugh, gently closing the door for her.

Watching the door shut tight, Xu Xia finally let out a breath.

Looking at the white cotton socks on her feet, she wasn’t sure if she should be happy or sad.

Was he joking, or just acting on a whim?!
