After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1430: Chapter 1434: Give Her and Her Child a Chance

Attorney Ji Li stood up from his chair and bowed to the crowd.

”My client has committed an unforgivable mistake, this is known to everyone, and my client has already acknowledged this. Today, what I want to do is not to defend my client, but to plead before the court and everyone to give her and her child a chance!”

He took a document from the table and displayed it to everyone.

”This is my client’s health examination report, which can prove that my client was born with a uterine defect. Those with such a defect have a very low chance of becoming pregnant and are highly prone to miscarriage. Here is my client’s pregnancy certificate and her discharge letter from this morning. Before she was discharged, the doctor strongly advised her to terminate the pregnancy because keeping this child poses a significant risk to her, such as severe bleeding caused by a miscarriage, but my client resolutely refused because she wants to be a mother. I believe such a mother should not be confined in prison; she is entitled to the legal right of external execution!”

Ji Li handed the two documents to the judge and returned to his position.

”In conclusion, I plead for the court to approve my client’s application for external execution.”

The judge confirmed the documents and then called upon the hospital doctor and prison doctor, both of whom verified the truth of the situation.

”Does the prosecutor have anything to say?” the judge asked.

The staff responsible for prosecution stood up, ”The defense attorney repeatedly claims how the defendant loves this child, yet in the serum we previously extracted, there were residues of Mifepristone drugs. This medication can cause abortion, and a mother who truly loves her child would not ingest such a drug. Additionally, given the poor demeanor of the defendant in admitting guilt, we believe that leaving her outside the prison could pose a danger to society. Therefore, we request the court to reject the opposing application.”

”May I ask the prosecutor, you accuse my client of taking medication, so I ask you, what proof do you have that it was my client who took it willingly, while she is in prison, how could she have access to such medication?” Ji Li immediately stood up and countered.

”This is the proof issued by the hospital, confirming that Seo Fei indeed has residues of such drugs in her system,” the prosecutor also presented their evidence.

”This certificate can only prove that my client has drug residues in her body, but it cannot prove that she ingested them voluntarily,” Ji Li argued.

Both parties engaged in a sharp exchange, after which the judge announced a temporary adjournment.

During the adjournment, Leng Zirui left the courtroom and went to the judge’s office.

Inviting him to sit down, the judge waved others away, ”General Leng, this time we can only approve her external execution, the international pressure is significant, and her identity is quite special, unless you can provide more compelling evidence that she really took the drug voluntarily.”

Leng Zirui nodded gently.

The minor details on the surveillance footage could not serve as sufficient evidence. The death of Lawyer Wang in a car accident could not be proven as externally caused. The court demands evidence, not personal inference, and today, so many journalists both domestic and international have arrived. If Seo Fei’s application is forcibly rejected, the country’s image and the credibility of its legal system would be brought into question.
