After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1423: Chapter 1427: My Mind Is Still Sound

Leng Zirui lazily sat down on the chair, ”What do you mean ’what happened’?”

Leng Zimo looked at him sideways, ”My brain isn’t broken!”

The power outage at the hospital was already extremely unusual. From everyone’s reaction, especially Leng Zirui’s, it was clear that there was something abnormal going on.

Although he had surgery and slept through the afternoon, just as he said, his brain wasn’t broken. His observation and thinking skills were still intact. Leng Zimo easily guessed that there was something unusual concealed within.

”There are some leads, but I’m still investigating!”

Leng Zirui gave an answer that was neither completely true nor false.

He indeed was investigating, but he hadn’t fully disclosed his suspicions to Leng Zimo.

Leng Zimo had just undergone surgery, and Leng Zirui didn’t want him to be under too much pressure.

If he knew that Cobra might be targeting him, and potentially also Luo Xiaoqian and Luo Jun, and if Leng Zimo acted rashly out of worry, it would be a loss.

Leng Zimo didn’t doubt him, ”If you find any clues, let me know immediately!”

”Got it!” Leng Zirui secretly breathed a sigh of relief, ”I think maybe we should wait a few days before telling Dad about this. What do you think?”

Leng Zimo nodded, ”Let’s tell him after I get discharged.”

Several years ago, Leng Lin started having kidney issues. Even though he’s been trying to take care of himself over the years, he can’t defeat aging, and the ailments from his years of military service are gradually surfacing. His health isn’t great now, and as his sons, they naturally don’t want Leng Lin to worry about Leng Zimo’s condition.

”It’s getting late, you should sleep early too!” Leng Zirui glanced at his wristwatch, turned off the main light, walked over to the bed across the room, and casually lay down on the pillow, ”Come to think of it, it’s been ages since us two brothers slept in the same room!”

”Thirteen years!” Leng Zimo answered, ”I remember it was your fifteenth birthday, you drank too much, and ended up sleeping in my room.”

Leng Zirui snorted, ”You have some nerve bringing that up. You wouldn’t let me sleep in your bed and actually threw me onto the carpet.”

”The fact that I didn’t throw you out of my bedroom is already good,” Leng Zimo said calmly, though there was a smile at the corners of his lips.

Leng Zimo had a slight obsession with cleanliness. Ever since he was young, he was very particular about his bedroom and disliked anyone entering it. When he grew up and became independent, the only people who had slept in his bed aside from his brother Leng Zirui were Luo Xiaoqian and Luo Jun.

The two brothers, each lying on their own bed, reminisced about childhood anecdotes. Leng Zirui occasionally burst into laughter, and Leng Zimo also smiled, albeit just a lift of the corners of his lips.

The personalities of the two brothers were distinct. One inherited from their mother, and the other from their father. But this did not affect their relationship. Perhaps it was precisely this complementary nature that allowed the often distant Leng Zimo to maintain a close sibling bond with Leng Zirui.

As time slowly passed, under Leng Zirui’s storytelling, Leng Zimo gradually fell asleep.

Seeing him asleep, Leng Zirui stood up, looked at the bandage on his head, raised his hand to dim the bedside lamp, and sat down on the chair next to Leng Zimo’s hospital bed.

He was asleep, but he couldn’t sleep.

Even though they hadn’t figured out what caused the power outage, Leng Zirui’s instincts told him that this time, someone was targeting Leng Zimo.
