Chapter 222: Chapter 222: Arrows in the Night

Xiao Yifeng nodded and followed Mu Feng into the dining room, where the entire Ye Family had gathered.

Master Ye of the Ye family, Ye Tianxiong, was wearing a Tang suit and seated at the head of the table. Ye Songming sat on one side, while an empty seat was on the other, followed by Ye Yaxin, Ye Yashi, Ye Tianchen, and Ye Songming’s wife, Du Huijuan.

”Yifeng, come over here and sit,” Ye Tianxiong said with a smile as he saw Xiao Yifeng appear.

”It seems I’ve arrived just in time,” Xiao Yifeng said with a smile.

”Hmph!”

Ye Tianchen cast a disdainful glance at Xiao Yifeng with a cold snort. Xiao Yifeng gave him a sidelong look and curled his lips, indicating he was not going to stoop to arguing with a child.

”Today, our Ye Family is truly united once again. Come on, everyone, let’s have a toast!”

Ye Tianxiong seemed very happy, raising his glass to cheer with everyone and laughing heartily.

”Father, now that Tianchen is back in the country, shouldn’t he start working at the company? That way, he can help Yaxin with the workload, and it wouldn’t waste all his education.”

Ye Songming put down his glass and looked toward Ye Tianxiong.

”Hmm, you’re quite right. Now that Tianchen is back, he should indeed make good use of his capabilities.”

Ye Tianxiong nodded and turned his gaze to Ye Yaxin, ”What do you think, Yaxin?”

”I have no problem with it,” Ye Yaxin said indifferently.

”Then let’s have Tianchen work at the company. Tianchen, you’ll have to work hard and help your sister out,” Ye Tianxiong said, looking at Ye Tianchen.

A glint of joy appeared in Ye Tianchen’s eyes as he said, ”Grandfather, rest assured, I will not let you down.”

”As if he, a spoiled playboy, could do any good in the company! He’ll just end up making things harder for his sister.”

Ye Yashi, who sat to the side, spoke disdainfully, seemingly resentful toward Ye Tianchen.

Ye Tianchen’s face darkened as he glared at Ye Yashi, causing Ye Songming and Du Huijuan to look somewhat displeased.

”Yashi, what do you mean by that? Tianchen is a legitimate graduate of a famous university in Country Y. How can you speak like this?” Du Huijuan said with a hint of dissatisfaction.

”Alright, that’s enough,” said Ye Songming, tugging at Du Huijuan’s hand.

”Old Master, do you hear what Yashi is saying? Could it be that only Yaxin can contribute to the company? If Tianchen goes, is he just there to make trouble? This is too much of a bully,” Du Huijuan muttered, looking at Ye Tianxiong.

”Hmph, did I say anything wrong? This guy comes back to the country and finds out his sister has a brother-in-law, but still introduces some grandson of a Duke from Country Y to her. What’s he trying to do? Ruin the relationship between my sister and brother-in-law?” Ye Yashi retorted sharply.

Xiao Yifeng, sitting on the side, couldn’t help but feel pleased that his little aunt was standing up for him like this.

This little aunt was truly considerate; she could definitely be counted as the most caring little aunt. Xiao Yifeng thought about whether he should reward his little aunt for her thoughtfulness.

When Ye Tianxiong heard Ye Yashi’s words, his expression darkened, and Ye Tianchen’s face changed.

”Tianchen, what is this about?” Ye Tianxiong asked, his gaze filled with authority, as he looked at Ye Tianchen.

”Grandfather... I’m doing this for my sister’s sake. The person I introduced is the grandson of Duke Jason from Country Y, a true noble there with a high status.”

”I met him at school, and we became friends, so I thought I’d introduce my sister to him. Not only could my sister marry a good person, but our Ye Family could also grow stronger by leveraging Duke Jason’s influence,” Ye Tianchen hurriedly explained.

”Yes, father, Tianchen is doing this for the good of our Ye Family and Ya Xin. Besides, he just came back and didn’t know about Ya Xin’s engagement before. Please don’t be angry, father,” Ye Songming quickly said.

Ye Tianxiong’s expression relaxed and he said, ”There should be no more of this in the future. Ya Xin already has a fiancé, and in my lifetime, I, Ye Tianxiong, will only acknowledge Yifeng as the grandson-in-law of the Ye Family. No one else matters, no matter who they are.”

”Yes, Grandfather!”

Ye Tianchen nodded, his gaze subtly swept over Xiao Yifeng, revealing a trace of a cold and sinister look.

The meal lasted for over an hour, full of harmonious laughter. After finishing the meal, the Ye sisters stayed to chat with the old master for a while before reluctantly leaving.

In Ye Songming’s villa within the Ye Family Manor, Ye Tianchen’s face was ice cold.

”That Ye Yashi, I’ll make sure this girl learns her lesson sooner or later for daring to undermine me,” Ye Tianchen coldly huffed.

”She’s just a girl; there’s no need for you to lose your temper over her. Remember, your real opponent is Ye Yaxin.”

At that moment, Ye Songming walked over and said with a grave voice.

”Dad, don’t worry. I’ll definitely take over Ye Corporation, but what’s Xiao Yifeng’s background? How did he suddenly become Ye Yaxin’s fiancé? And it seems grandfather really cares about him,” Ye Tianchen couldn’t help asking Ye Songming.

Ye Songming sat down, lit a cigar, and narrowed his eyes, saying:

”I still haven’t found out his exact identity, but his medical skills are extraordinary. As soon as he arrived in Tianhai, he cured the old master; otherwise, Ye Yaxin would have been ousted long ago.”

”Moreover, he is very skilled in martial arts. However, the man is arrogant, having offended Hu Mingrui and Nie Tianming to death. As long as we firmly control these two major shareholders and directors, we will have the chance to take down Ye Yaxin.”

”By that time, I’ll make sure that kid knows the severity of Ye Tianchen.”

A cold light flashed in Ye Tianchen’s eyes.

In Haitang Garden, as Xiao Yifeng’s Aston Martin and Ye Yaxin’s Audi A8 just entered the villa’s courtyard, Xiao Yifeng sensed something unusual.

Blue light flickered in his eyes as his x-ray vision activated, and his face suddenly turned cold as he shouted, ”Watch out!”

As Xiao Yifeng’s words were spoken, dark arrows shot out like meteors from the shadows surrounding the villa.

At that moment, Ye Yaxin and Ye Yashi had just gotten out of the car when they saw arrows suddenly appearing around them, giving them a fright.

”Be careful, Miss!”

Ye Yaxin’s driver and bodyguard, Wang Jun, let out a loud shout, reacting quickly and pulling Ye Yaxin to the side to dodge.

But Ye Yashi, startled by the sudden appearance of the black arrows, stood there stunned, unable to react.

”Ya Xin!”

”Second Miss!”

Seeing the arrows shooting towards Ye Yashi, Ye Yaxin and Wang Jun both shouted in alarm, their faces shocked, while Ye Yaxin’s eyes were filled with despair and pain.
