Chapter 221: Chapter 221: Dinner at the Ye Family’s House

”It’s clear you’re in desperate need of money. I’m willing to let this incident go, but I want to make a deal with you,”

Xiao Yifeng shifted his gaze and spoke.

”A deal? What kind of deal?” Luo Yun looked puzzled, his eyes filled with confusion.

”I give you money, you work for me,” Xiao Yifeng said indifferently, his eyes on Luo Yun.

”Sorry, but I won’t submit to anyone,” Luo Yun said resolutely upon hearing Xiao Yifeng’s words.

”You’ve got quite the backbone. It seems you hold firm principles. However, the work I want you to do is not to waste your strength and martial talent. I’m not asking you to do just anything,”

”Besides, you need money, and I can provide that. I can even help you enhance your martial arts strength, perhaps even change your life.”

”I hope you consider this carefully. Of course, if you still wish to come at me, next time I won’t be as merciful.”

Xiao Yifeng kept speaking to Luo Yun, then turned and left, driving away and leaving Luo Yun alone, his gaze flickering as he pondered deeply.

Outside the Xu Corporation building, Dongzi emerged swiftly and upon seeing Luo Yun approaching, he quickly asked, ”How did it go?”

”I’m sorry, I didn’t complete the mission. Here’s your two million back,”

Luo Yun said bluntly, handing the two-million-dollar cheque back to Dongzi.

”This... even you couldn’t handle that guy?” Dongzi looked at Luo Yun in disbelief.

”Dongzi, for the sake of being from the same hometown, take this advice: it’s best not to provoke that person. He’s beyond your ability to handle,”

Luo Yun spoke indifferently.

Dongzi’s expression changed, and after a moment’s consideration, he said, ”Although the task wasn’t completed, keep the two million. Our boss still thinks highly of you. If you...”

”No need to continue. I won’t agree,”

Luo Yun placed the cheque back in Dongzi’s hand and walked away.

When Dongzi relayed the incident to Xu Ruhai in his office, the latter’s face turned furious, and with a slap on the table, a loud bang echoed. Dongzi stood there with his head lowered.

”What did you tell me before? That you could definitely give that guy a lesson. And now? Yet another failure.”

”Chairman, I hadn’t expected him to be so frighteningly powerful. Luo Yun was once an elite member of the strongest Dragon Thorn team in the military, and yet he still failed,”

”I’m afraid this man’s power has reached a terrifying level; we shouldn’t provoke him further!” Dongzi said gravely.

”Hmph, so he beats my son to a pulp, and I, Xu Ruhai, should just let this go? I can’t swallow this anger,” Xu Ruhai spoke coldly, his eyes filled with intense fury, his unwillingness evident.

”Chairman, although we can’t just let it go, we can take the long view and find another opportunity to strike at him. We will surely avenge the Young Master’s beating,” Dongzi offered.

”You’re right,” Xu Ruhai nodded, a cold glint in his eyes, ”And it’s not just him; the Ye Family too—I, Xu Ruhai, will not let any of them off.”

In a hidden base in China, this location belongs to the world’s leading Assassin Organization, the Blood Soul Organization.

Within a room of this base, a man wearing a blood-colored skull mask stood, dressed in blood-red garments. His aura was restrained, yet he exuded an invisible pressure that made it difficult to breathe, a terrifying oppressiveness emanating from him.

A man wearing a golden skeleton mask soon entered the room, and said, ”Sir, the mission on Tianhai’s side has failed again. The target’s strength is formidable, having reached the Transformative Energy Stage pinnacle, or even Great Perfection.”

”So powerful, huh? But the plan of our organization is about to begin, and we can’t mobilize the Golden Assassins,” said the man wearing the blood-colored skeleton mask, his voice cold and sinister.

”Sir, according to the investigation, the target has a weakness for women. How about we send Blood Lady?”

The man with the golden skeleton mask suggested.

”Her? But isn’t she someone the Young Master desires? What if...”

”With Blood Lady’s strength plus her abilities, she is more than capable of killing the target. There will not be any issues,” the man with the golden skeleton mask insisted once more.

”Good, let Blood Lady handle it then.”

The man in the blood-colored skeleton mask nodded, after which the one with the golden skeleton mask left the room.

However, soon after, two other men wearing blood-colored skeleton masks and clad in blood-red clothes appeared.

”How is the preparation coming along?” asked the man from before.

”Everything is almost ready. There won’t be any losses. Once the plan starts, those people from the Martial Arts World are bound to act, and that will be our time to move,” the two men with blood-colored skeleton masks said coldly.

”This plan has been long-in-the-making by the master. It’s tied to the future of the entire Sect, and not a single problem can occur.”

...

At Ye Corporation, Xiao Yifeng was spending his afternoon leisurely, until Hong Mei walked up to him and whispered in his ear, ”Come to my place later; I’ve prepared a surprise for you.”

Enticed by her seductive words, Xiao Yifeng felt a surge of restlessness inside, ready to agree immediately, when suddenly his phone rang—an incoming call from Ye Yaxin.

”Hello, wife. Do you need something?”

”Come to the Ye Family for dinner tonight.” The voice of Ye Yaxin came through, cold and detached.

”Dinner? Why should we have dinner?”

Xiao Yifeng was taken aback.

”It is my grandfather’s command; you must come,” Ye Yaxin’s tone had an authoritative edge to it, and after speaking, she hung up immediately.

Listening to the beeping of the line, Xiao Yifeng felt extremely helpless and a bit resentful, giving Hong Mei an apologetic look. ”Darling, I’m so sorry, but I...”

”It’s okay, there’s no need to say anything to me. I’m just your lover; the president is your official partner,” Hong Mei said softly, a hint of sorrow in her expression.

Seeing Hong Mei like this, Xiao Yifeng felt a pang of pity, but he still had to obey Ye Yaxin—he couldn’t imagine what his fiancée might do to him otherwise. He reluctantly had to let down Hong Mei.

In the blink of an eye, nightfall shrouded Tianhai, the bustling city, and the Ye Family’s residence was brightly lit. Xiao Yifeng drove up to the place.

”Young Master, please come inside!” The butler of the Ye Family, Mu Feng, came up to greet him promptly with respect.
