Sky Boxing Club.

In Capital City, there are countless boxing clubs of all sizes, but Sky Boxing Club is one of the most prestigious, ranking among the very best. It is backed by the Xuu Family—specifically, Xuu He’an. During the day, the club operates as a legitimate business where you can practice boxing or get a workout, just like at any other gym.

But when night falls, especially late at night, the scene changes entirely. It also goes by a more professional and bloodier name: Underground Black Boxing.

Although this is an extremely cruel act that skirts the law, the hefty prize money and various forms of high-stakes gambling attract a continuous stream of contestants and spectators. Perhaps a primal part of human nature is a thirst for violence, as many people love these kinds of visceral, bloody brawls. They satisfy the boiling excitement and desires in their hearts. Because of the cruelty and bloodshed, many are willing to pay the high price of admission.

Generally, Underground Black Boxing matches are held in an octagonal cage. If you lose, there’s a 99.99% chance you won’t be walking out again. For this reason, this type of fighting has another name: Death Fight.

Late night finally enveloped the land of Forty-Nine City. A young man in a black jacket arrived by taxi at the Sky Boxing Club.

”Sir, I’m sorry, but we’re closed for the day. Why don’t you come back tomorrow to work out?” Seeing that the man wasn’t dressed like someone with money and had arrived by taxi, a doorman offered a ’friendly’ reminder.

”Who’s in charge here?” the young man in the black jacket asked calmly, ignoring the doorman and scanning his surroundings.

Hearing this, the doorman’s expression stiffened. He discreetly reached a hand behind his back and pressed a call button. Moments later, a burly man in a suit arrived with a group of cold-faced subordinates.

”What’s going on?” the burly man asked, glancing coldly at the man in the jacket before turning to the doorman.

”Do you recognize this?” Before the doorman could reply, the man in the jacket—who was none other than Chen Fei—held out a gold-embossed invitation.

”This is…”

The burly man’s expression changed. He looked at Chen Fei with a stern, even wary, expression and said slowly, ”May I ask your surname, sir?” Unlike the doorman, he had clearly been given a heads-up from his superiors.

”My surname is Chen,” Chen Fei answered evenly. He wasn’t planning on coming, but for some reason, as if by a twist of fate, he had ended up here after all.

”Mr. Chen, please follow me. The bosses have been waiting for you for some time,” the burly man said, gesturing for Chen Fei to enter the club.

Inside the main entrance was a dimly lit corridor. The burly man led Chen Fei through a series of turns, eventually stopping at a well-hidden elevator. They rode it down to the first, second, and then the third basement level.

After exiting the elevator on the third basement level, the man led Chen Fei through an empty parking garage to what looked like an entrance. After a brief body search, registration, and security check where they surrendered their phones, they were allowed inside.

A blast of wild music and a wave of heat hit them, separating the world inside from the one outside. The music was deafening, thundering from the space ahead.

They had finally arrived at their destination: the nighttime flagship of the Sky Boxing Club. Its ace in the hole.

It was an underground fighting ring with an intense, bloody visual impact. The arena itself was four to five hundred square meters, large enough to hold a huge crowd. The lighting was dim, and the air was thick, making it difficult to breathe, almost suffocating.

In an atmosphere like this, there were only two outcomes: either you couldn’t take it and left, or you shattered your inhibitions, unlocked the shackles on your heart, and went completely wild, revealing your most primal side.

”Executioner, hurry up and fucking kill him! I bet a million on you! Kill him! Kill him!”

”Hit him! Hit him harder, smash his head in! Yes, like that, haha! Just like that! Go on, hit him!”

...

At that moment, a fierce battle was raging in the centermost cage. One of the fighters was a Black man who looked to be two meters tall, with fists as large as millstones and a menacing face. Most people would be terrified to even cross his path on the street, but now, he was being utterly dominated by the other man in the cage. One of his arms had been snapped completely—not just broken, but twisted until it was severed. Blood gushed from the wound.

BOOM!

”Damn it, I knew the Executioner would win! That guy’s a fucking freak! That’s nineteen wins in a row!”

”EXECUTIONER! EXECUTIONER! EXECUTIONER! EXECUTIONER...”

The scene was pure insanity.

The towering two-meter-tall Black man was being beaten senseless by a seemingly frail, 1.7-meter-tall Asian man. With one arm snapped and fresh blood splattering across the cold floor, the shocking, bloody, and violent spectacle electrified the nerves of every man and woman present, driving them into a frenzy.

Just then, the ”frail” 1.7-meter-tall Asian man stomped down on the Black man’s face with incredible force, crushing his nose and eyes. This was the final blow; the Black fighter passed out.

”I hereby declare the Executioner… victorious!” The referee ran to the unconscious man, checked on him briefly, then loudly announced the winner.

”ROAR!”

”I won! I won again! I’ve won millions, hahaha, hahahaha!”

”Executioner! Executioner! Executioner...”

”This guy is just too strong! Nineteen straight wins, and not one opponent has even put him in a dangerous spot. Betting on him is guaranteed money!”

...

The venue erupted. Men and women screamed and cheered wildly. The deafening music and the blood staining the cage floor drenched the fighting ring in a gloomy, chaotic atmosphere.

”This is our arena’s greatest champion, the Executioner. He’s set a shocking record of nineteen consecutive wins, and no opponent has ever survived a match against him. So, want to go up and test your skills?” As Chen Fei watched everything with a cold frown, a detached voice spoke from nearby.

Chen Fei turned his head to see a young man in a luxurious suit with a stern expression walking toward him.

”Boss, you’re here,” the burly man in black said respectfully before stepping away.

”Boss?” Chen Fei frowned at the newcomer and said slowly, ”Are you Chen Kun?”

”No, no, no… I’m not Young Master Kun.” The stern young man in the suit, who was none other than Xuu He’an, shook his head, a faint smile on his face. ”Allow me to introduce myself. My surname is Xuu, and my given name is He’an. You can call me by my full name, or… Young Master Xuu.”

As he spoke, he stared intently at Chen Fei, trying to exert psychological pressure and project an aura of dominance and power.

Surname Xuu?

Though Chen Fei wasn’t intimidated by such childish tactics, he couldn’t help but pause at the name. He then shook his head slightly and muttered, ”Probably just a coincidence.” In his mind, he didn’t think this Xuu He’an had any connection to the Old Xu Family. He was also unaware of the history between them, of the incident.

”Hmph!”

Xuu He’an, of course, heard Chen Fei’s muttering. His face darkened, and he let out a cold snort. ”Ignorance is no sin. But if you don’t know something, you’d better not run your mouth! It makes you look foolish.” Clearly, Chen Fei’s comment—”Probably just a coincidence”—had struck a nerve, enraging him.

In his heart, Xuu He’an had long considered himself a member of the Old Xu Family. It gave him prestige, saved face, and made him more influential. Naturally, he couldn’t stand to hear such ”nonsense” from Chen Fei. In fact, it wasn’t just him; his entire family clan wouldn’t have been able to stand it. After all, without Old Master Xuu’s patronage, their family was nothing more than third-tier.

Hearing this, Chen Fei’s brow twitched, a hint of impatient coldness finally showing in his eyes. He could sense the hostility in Xuu He’an’s words. Nonsense? Is this guy an idiot, or is he deliberately targeting me? I don’t know who he is, and I didn’t come here tonight for small fries like him.

At that thought, Chen Fei couldn’t be bothered to waste any more words. He asked bluntly, his face an emotionless mask, ”Where’s Chen Kun?”

Hearing this, the anger on Xuu He’an’s face froze for an instant before twisting into absolute fury.

”What’s that supposed to mean? Are you looking down on me, on Xuu He’an? You think I’m not worthy of standing here and talking to you?! Let me tell you, do you have any idea who I am? Do you know the kind of background and status I have? You’re nothing but a sycophant clinging to the coattails of the Old Xu Family! Who the hell do you think you are?”

Xuu He’an glared at Chen Fei, unable to contain his rage. ”Listen here, punk! I’m warning you! This is Forty-Nine City, not some backwater village. Don’t get too cocky!”
