Medical Sage

After Huang Feng and Secretary Qian left, Chen Fei returned to an incredibly idle state, as there was no one coming to him for medical treatment. The patients all thought he was too young and lacked credibility, which left him feeling helpless and bemused. Resigning himself to fate, he earnestly started playing a game in his office—League of Legends.

This was a competitive multiplayer online battle arena game published by the top-ranked online gaming company in the country. It boasted immense playability and a rich storyline, with peak concurrent online users exceeding seven million, earning it the top spot in the entire online community. Naturally, it was also deeply beloved by young people like Chen Fei.

And so, Chen Fei played games in the hospital’s outpatient clinic for an entire day before shaking his head and heading home.

It wasn’t that he wanted to slack off; in reality, no one was willing to trust him with their medical care. What else could he do?

”What are you doing? Somebody help! Please, save us!”

Just as Chen Fei was leaving the hospital, planning to take a shortcut to catch the bus back to the California Garden Grand Hotel, a woman’s cries for help echoed from a nearby alley.

The roar of motorcycle engines was piercing in the dim alleyway, and their glaring headlights made the ground as bright as day.

In that alley, four or five flashy motorcycles were circling two women who had fallen to the ground, whizzing around them to form a ring. To the side, several punks with multicolored hair—clearly up to no good—laughed with lecherous delight, their eyes filled with lust.

”Save you? I’d like to see who dares. Those people out there? Would they dare? Hahahaha!”

Arrogant laughter boomed from the direction of the blinding headlights, causing the expressions of passersby to change in fright. Still, they lowered their heads as if avoiding the plague and quickly moved away.

This wasn’t because they lacked compassion or a sense of justice, but because it was clear that one or two unarmed people could not solve this situation. Acting impulsively under such circumstances would be foolish. So, they pretended to see and hear nothing, quickly leaving with their heads down. After all, one’s own safety was paramount.

Chen Fei could only shake his head at the scene. That’s just how the world is. It preys on the weak and fears the strong.

”Stop!”

The next moment, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes as he strode quickly toward the alley. In an instant, he had weaved through the gangsters and motorcycles, positioning himself in front of the two trembling women and blocking the middle of the road.

”Yo, someone actually dares to stop us. Bro, you trying to be a hero?”

Chen Fei’s appearance made the roaring motorcycles slam on their brakes, and the quiet, open street was suddenly filled with the screeching of tires against the pavement.

The leader of the biker gang, a long-haired man on a cool, limited-edition Harley, sneered with utter contempt.

”Shit! Kid, if you want to play the hero, you’ve got to read the situation first! Just you, all by yourself? You here to be our punching bag?” one of the punks with multicolored hair shrieked, his face a mask of mockery.

”Hahaha!”

”That’s right, kid! Are you here to be our punching bag?”

Laughter echoed once again on the spacious street.

”Is it funny?” Suddenly, a dark, grim voice came from Chen Fei’s mouth.

The laughter died abruptly. The bikers and punks all fixed Chen Fei with vicious glares.

”Damn, you’re pretty arrogant, huh?” The punk with the multicolored hair bared his teeth, and a large machete suddenly appeared in his hand.

”Ah! No, please, save us! Please!” The two women on the ground were petrified. They clutched at Chen Fei’s pant leg as they cried, their lips quivering.

”Don’t worry.”

Chen Fei was unfazed by such a minor scene. His cold gaze swept over everyone present, completely unconcerned by the various dangerous blades that had appeared in the punks’ hands. He held up three fingers and stated indifferently, ”I’m counting to three. Either get lost, or all of you can stay here for good.”

”My, this one’s got some nerve. Why don’t you save us, too? Look, these bad men tore our clothes,” a gaudily dressed woman on the back of a motorcycle cooed.

The young man in a leather jacket in front of her had his hand inside her flimsy top, groping her forcefully. One of the straps even looked like it had snapped.

Obviously, the woman was deliberately mocking Chen Fei.

”Hahahaha!” The arrogant laughter erupted once more.

”Three!”

But at that moment, Chen Fei coldly uttered the word, cutting their laughter short.

”Damn it. I think this kid has a death wish.”

The long-haired man’s eyes flashed with a ruthless glint and an inexplicable scorn. He revved his engine and charged straight at Chen Fei.

Seeing this, Chen Fei just sneered. As the motorcycle closed in, he thrust a fist forward, slamming it hard onto the long-haired man’s shoulder and sending him flying. The limited-edition Harley crashed straight into a nearby wall with a tremendous BANG.

”Ah, my leg! My leg! And my bike!”

The long-haired man, sent flying by Chen Fei’s punch, never expected such a swift reaction. He had only felt a gust of wind before the blow launched him to the ground. An unbearable, sharp pain radiated from his ankle—the bone was most likely broken.

Of course, that wasn’t what pained him the most. What hurt him most was his limited-edition Harley-Davidson, which was now a wrecked heap by the roadside wall, extensively damaged.

”You little shit, I’m going to slaughter you!” the long-haired man roared, his eyes turning red with fury. He had paid a fortune to import that bike from overseas. He hadn’t even ridden it for more than a few days, and now Chen Fei had all but destroyed it. How could he not be furious?

The other punks, bikers, and the girls on the back of their bikes all stared wide-eyed, unable to believe what they were seeing.

They never would have dreamed that a young man their age could be so agile, not only dodging a motorcycle at full throttle from point-blank range but also injuring their boss in the process. It was simply inconceivable.

”What are you all standing around for? Get him! Kill him! I’ll take responsibility for whatever happens!” the long-haired man screamed in a rage.

”Fuck! Run him over!”

”Go! Show him the might of our Tiger Leopard Hall!”

The leader’s enraged howls snapped his underlings out of their stupor. Curses flew as they revved their engines and charged at Chen Fei. Others pulled daggers and machetes from their belts and slashed at him viciously.

Chen Fei’s eyes flashed. These guys are completely lawless!

Residents on both sides of the street opened their windows, only to quickly shut them again. They dared not meddle in a brawl between ruffians like these.

”Hmph!”

Like a clap of spring thunder, Chen Fei let out a cold snort. The next moment, he erupted with an aura so powerful it made the onlookers tremble. To the two women behind him, he was like a ferocious tiger. He strode forward and, with a powerful shove, sent a speeding motorcycle toppling over.

He moved and fought simultaneously, a relentless force like a bursting Yellow River dike. BANG! BANG! BANG! A series of heavy blows rang out as Chen Fei punched away one knife-wielding punk after another. They were left with caved-in chests, broken limbs, or split-open heads. He showed absolutely no mercy.

”Dammit, don’t be scared! We’ve got the numbers! Kill the son of a bitch!” the remaining punks and bikers shouted furiously, shaking off their shock.

Sure, there are plenty of tough guys out there, but can they fight against knives? What a joke.

”Go to hell!” a punk with a dagger shouted as he tried to ambush Chen Fei from behind, the gleaming blade stabbing straight for his waist. For an ordinary person, such a blow would have been fatal.

Chen Fei’s expression turned glacial. Holding nothing back, he swung his right fist back in an uncanny arc, like a real tiger pouncing from its cage. He viciously smashed the gleaming dagger aside and, with the same momentum, landed a punch squarely on the punk’s chest.

THUMP!

The punk slammed violently against the wall, his chest now a bloody mess. He collapsed to the ground, too weak to even moan, breathing out far more than he was taking in.

The other punks, bikers, and their girls watched with horrified expressions, sucking in sharp breaths. A chill ran down their spines as they finally realized that this guy, despite his average build, possessed terrifying strength and skill that could not be underestimated.

But by the time they realized this, it was too late. Chen Fei had no intention of stopping. He charged into them like a wolf into a flock of sheep. Gusts of wind followed his every move, and each punch was met with a horrifying scream.

A few moments later, the dim alley was littered with figures curled up on the ground, all moaning in pain. The biker girls, though spared, were petrified. They huddled together against a wall, trembling, not daring to even breathe too loudly.

”Hmph!”

Chen Fei snorted coldly again and turned his icy gaze toward the gang’s leader, the long-haired man.

”You... what do you want? Stay back! I’m telling you, my uncle is the chief of the High Tech Startup Zone Police Department!” The long-haired man’s legs had turned to jelly. He looked at Chen Fei as if staring at a demon, but he still tried to sound tough and threaten him.

”Oh? The chief of the High Tech Startup Zone Police Department? So what?”

Seeing that the man was still trying to threaten him, Chen Fei simply lifted his foot and stomped it down hard on his face.

”Agh! No! Let me go!”

The long-haired man shrieked, his voice distorted. Pinned firmly under Chen Fei’s foot, he couldn’t struggle free in the slightest. The sight sent a shiver through all the bikers, punks, and girls present, their bodies trembling with fear.

Putting aside Chen Fei’s terrifying fighting ability, there was the fact that the long-haired man was the nephew of the police chief of the High Tech Startup Zone. Yet this guy didn’t seem to care in the slightest as he ground his foot into the man’s face.

It was so unbelievable they felt like they had to be dreaming.

WEE-WOO! WEE-WOO!

Just then, the shrill wail of police sirens sounded in the distance, growing steadily closer. Three police cars, their lights flashing in the night, came speeding down the street toward them.

The punks and bikers felt a great weight lift from their shoulders, and cold, arrogant smirks returned to their faces. After all, their leader was the son of the High Tech Startup Zone’s police chief. Now that the police were here, was there any question whose side they would take?

”Haha, the police are here! Just you wait! I’m going to make you pay for crossing me, Luo Chao!” Pinned under Chen Fei’s foot, Luo Chao let out a vicious, triumphant laugh.
