Medical Sage

”Young man, I warn you for the last time. Release Mr. Jemio immediately, then come with me to the police station to surrender. Otherwise, no one can save you tonight!” the obsequious middle-aged man finally scolded, his face cold and stern.

SMACK!

But in the next moment, the portly foreigner, Tucci, suddenly leaped up in a rage. He viciously slapped the fawning middle-aged man across the face and cursed, ”Fuck! Who gave you permission to speak to Mr. Chen with that tone? Are you looking for death?!”

The fawning middle-aged man stood stunned, covering his face. Jemio, who was being dragged across the floor by Chen Fei like a dead dog, was also stunned. Murong Shan, who had been extremely nervous, along with Fatty, Little Fatty, and the others, were all completely frozen in shock. Naturally, Li Yumin, her face still vicious, was also dumbfounded.

What in the world was going on!?

”Uncle, what are you doing?” Jemio, still sprawled on the ground like a dead dog, couldn’t believe this scene was real and stammered.

”Shut your mouth!”

SMACK!

The only reply he received was an angry slap from Tucci. The older man stared coldly at his nephew, then turned to Chen Fei and said, ”Oh, my dear Huaxia Chen, my lifesaver! Although this boy is my nephew, I have plenty of them; I won’t miss this one. So if he has offended you, don’t mind me. You can do whatever you want with him.”

This sudden reversal left everyone present utterly dumbfounded, their mouths hanging wide open.

Who was Tucci? He was one of the most outstanding designers from Milan, the fashion capital of Italy. He also held a pivotal position in the Saint Laurent Group, making him a truly important figure. That Jemio fellow may have acted high and mighty in front of Li Yumin, Murong Shan, and the others, flaunting his status as Tucci’s nephew and a member of the Saint Laurent Group’s inspection delegation to Huaxia.

But in reality, he was just an insignificant disciple from a side branch of Tucci’s noble Italian family. He was merely one among many nephews and held no importance in Tucci’s eyes.

So now, hearing Tucci speak to him in such a tone, Jemio’s knees went weak, his soul nearly leaving his body. A chill ran through his limbs as cold sweat beaded on his forehead.

As for Tucci’s mention of a ”lifesaver,” the words struck the crowd like an earthquake. Could it be that he actually saved Mr. Tucci’s life?

”Young man, is it really you?” the government official said with an embarrassed expression, finally seeming to recognize Chen Fei.

”Mr. Tucci, although I don’t think you share your nephew’s character, this is our Huaxia, after all. Don’t you think someone like him should show a little restraint?” Chen Fei’s expression, however, remained cold and indifferent.

At these words, the crowd, already trembling with reverence, trembled uncontrollably once more. How audacious was this young man? How dare he speak to Mr. Tucci like that? Mr. Tucci had already shown him considerable respect, yet here he was, pushing his luck.

”How presumptuous...” Li Yumin’s eyes darted around as she seized the opportunity to berate Chen Fei. In her view, for a mere young man to dare speak to Mr. Tucci this way, even if they knew each other, would surely cause annoyance. If Mr. Tucci lost his ”respect” for him, wouldn’t the rest of them be able to call the shots?

”Shut up!”

But the next moment, Tucci’s furious roar nearly scared the soul out of her.

He shot Li Yumin a cold glance, his eyes filled with disgust. Then, he turned and nodded respectfully to Chen Fei before addressing a Caucasian bodyguard. ”Carl, send this oblivious fool back to Italy. While you’re at it, tell those people back home to expel him from the family. From this day forward, I never want to see his face in the Saint Laurent Family again.”

”Uncle, no! Please, don’t expel me from the family! I beg you!” His uncle’s words terrified Jemio so much that, with a sudden burst of unknown strength, he tore free from Chen Fei’s grasp. He scrambled to Tucci and began begging incessantly, stopping just short of getting on his knees.

He knew that all his achievements and his current life of privilege existed for one reason: his family name was Saint Laurent, one of the most elite noble families in Italy. If he were expelled from the Saint Laurent Family, he would undoubtedly plummet from the heavens into hell and become a nobody. That was a fate he could never accept.

”Get lost!”

”Carl, take him away!”

However, Tucci just gave him a look of disgust and waved his hand dismissively as if shooing a fly. He then turned back to Chen Fei and asked respectfully, ”Oh, dear Huaxia Chen, are you satisfied with how I’ve handled this?”

”Thank you, Mr. Tucci,” Chen Fei said, his expression finally softening. The man had indeed shown him a great deal of respect, and this resolution was more than adequate.

”That’s wonderful! Dear Huaxia Chen, thank you for saving my life that day. Since we have the chance, let’s have a chat. I insist on thanking you properly,” Tucci said, warmly inviting Chen Fei to talk so he could express his gratitude. After all, he was returning to Italy soon and might not get another chance to repay this life-saving debt.

”Thanks are not necessary. I need to use the restroom, so please excuse me,” Chen Fei replied with a smile before turning and walking toward the restrooms.

”Dear Huaxia Chen, you can’t just leave without saying goodbye this time! I’ll be waiting for you over there!” the portly foreigner, Tucci, called out to Chen Fei’s retreating back before turning with a smile and heading toward the VIP area.

”Mr. Tucci, please excuse me. I also need to visit the restroom,” the middle-aged government official said, a glint in his eyes as he suddenly departed as well.

After Chen Fei left, the banquet hall erupted with chatter.

”Hey, did you see that? This Doctor Chen is incredible!”

”Shanshan, your boyfriend is so amazing! He even saved Mr. Tucci’s life!”

”Hahaha, I couldn’t stand that Jemio guy from the start! He got what he deserved! Haha!”

The crowd buzzed, especially with Fatty and Little Fatty’s exaggerated gestures and comments, and many others chimed in. The main reason was that Jemio had been insufferably arrogant, looking down on all of them. Now he had gotten his just deserts. Serves him right!

Only one person did not join in her classmates’ excitement: Li Yumin. She was trembling all over, the blush on her cheeks unable to hide her deathly pallor. She kept thinking about how she had targeted Chen Fei and mocked Murong Shan. If he felt displeased and said a few bad words about me in front of Mr. Tucci... Her vision went dark, and she didn’t dare to think any further.

”Yumin, that young man is your classmate, right? Good, remember to treat him well! As long as you can get him to put in a good word for us with Mr. Tucci, our Li Family will be set! Hahaha!” The sycophantic middle-aged man, Li Yumin’s father, still hadn’t grasped the situation. Mistakenly thinking Chen Fei was his daughter’s classmate, he approached her with a beaming face.

This only threw Li Yumin into a deeper state of panic. She felt like crying but couldn’t, standing there completely stupefied.

In the restroom area, just as Chen Fei stepped out, Secretary Zheng, a middle-aged man in a formal suit, approached him with a smile. ”Young man, we meet again. Hello, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Zheng Shuhan, and I am the current secretary for our city’s Vice Mayor Zhou.”

”Vice Mayor Zhou? You mean Zhou Zhuo, Vice Mayor Zhou?” Chen Fei asked, taken aback. His expression turned a little strange. Isn’t that the same Zhou Zhuo who’s competing with Deputy Mayor Huang Tao?

”Yes, that’s right. Vice Mayor Zhou Zhuo!” Secretary Zheng affirmed with a smile. He continued, ”I never expected our Northern Mountain City to have a young talent like yourself, Brother Chen. Your medical skills are superb, and you can save lives. You are truly a blessing to the people of our city.”

Secretary Zheng began speaking in official platitudes, which made Chen Fei frown slightly. ”You flatter me, Secretary Zheng. But why are you looking for me?”

Taken aback by the directness, a flash of anger crossed Secretary Zheng’s face, but he quickly concealed it behind a smile. ”Well, there’s a small matter I was hoping I could ask you to help with, Brother Chen.”

”Please be direct, Secretary Zheng. What is it you need?” Chen Fei asked, his eyes flickering slightly.
