Chapter 1476: Chapter 28: Frontline Battlefield_3

Then Vladimir confidently said, ”The situation at the front is indeed not very ideal, but this is only the frontal battlefield. The situation on the enemy’s rear battlefield has not been reported yet! I think we should receive good news by tomorrow; as for the frontline, just maintain the current intensity of the attack.”

The news from the Russian front can be relayed back to Moscow promptly via telegram. However, the enemy’s rear battlefield, although the Russian government has issued combat orders to the underground parties in the rear of countries like Ukraine, due to the environmental factors behind enemy lines, the result of their actions will only be glimpsed by tomorrow at the earliest.

...

And just as Vladimir predicted, on the day Russia and Ukraine went to war, Ukraine’s rear was indeed not peaceful.

The perspective shifts back to Xiqueslav city.

The night before the Russian army went to war with Ukraine.

Malinkov excitedly said, ”Comrades, the opportunity we’ve long awaited has finally arrived. According to Moscow Central’s instructions, tomorrow we will officially launch the Yekaterinoslav uprising.”

”Coordinate with the frontline Red Army operations, cut off the Ukrainian National Army’s traffic lines and supply routes. If possible, we can also actively attack the rear of the Donbass defense line, or dispatch troops to move up the Dnieper River and invade Kyiv.”

Malinkov’s idea was indeed audacious. Kyiv is Ukraine’s political center, one can imagine how difficult it is to attack. Moreover, Xiqueslav city, which is Yekaterinoslav city, although like Kyiv, is a city along the Dnieper River, it isn’t very close, with several important towns in between.

Of course, Malinkov’s unrealistic idea wasn’t baseless, because his goal wasn’t about whether Kyiv could be conquered but to create internal turmoil within Ukraine.

Imagine this, if a troop appears in Ukraine’s rear, and this troop targets the Ukrainian government leaders and officials, it will inevitably cause panic within the Ukrainian government. After all, the higher up one is, the more they cherish their lives, and they hold most of the nation’s resources.

For the sake of their safety, they will definitely divert troops to eliminate the danger at its inception. However, diverting troops may affect the safety of the Ukrainian Army at the front.

Yet, the safety of the government at the rear is more important than the front. Even if issues arise at the front because of this, it will at least buy time for the Ukrainian government’s top brass to escape.

Nevertheless, Malinkov’s plan has a fatal issue, which is that Ukraine’s military strength is, for the time being, still quite sufficient. However, Malinkov thinks this problem is not significant.

Because he is very certain that the organization has not just dispatched their group to orchestrate activities in Ukraine, but Labor Party organizations are executing this plan across Ukraine’s key towns.

So by tomorrow, Ukraine’s entire rear will likely be filled with smoke and fire, and widespread uprisings will leave the Ukrainian Central Government unable to grasp the situation.

This isn’t the most important thing. Although the organization hasn’t mentioned it, Malinkov is sure that Kyiv’s underground party will also start a revolt tomorrow.

After all, Kyiv is Ukraine’s capital, and how could the Russian Labor Party’s upper echelon not attach importance to this city. Initially, the Russian Labor Party seized control of Russia starting from the Tsarist Russia’s capital, Saint Petersburg. Once the capital falls, victory is essentially assured.

Of course, the specifics of the operation, Malinkov must first ensure the success of the Yekaterinoslav uprising, otherwise, not to mention attacking Donbass and Kyiv, if it fails, the entire Labor Party organization in Yekaterinoslav might be lost here.
