Chapter 1470: Chapter 26: Bullying the Weak, Fearing the Strong (3)

In the city of Xiqueslav, Ukraine has established large arsenals because it is crucial as a transit hub for the Ukrainian army, capable of transporting weapons and ammunition via rail and road to the eastern Ukrainian puppet army, as well as supporting the northern and southern Ukrainian army through the Dnieper River.

Moreover, there is not just one arsenal in Xiqueslav, but two large ones. As long as one can be seized, the odds of success for Malinkov and his companions will further increase.

Malinkov said, ”The actual enemy we need to deal with is the over eight thousand puppet troops not yet subverted. As long as we can resolve them, the puppet government in Yekaterinoslav will be completely powerless.”

”So my plan is for us to organize workers, seize the arsenals within the city, suppress the police stations and other agencies, and then lure the high-ranking officials of the Thirty-seventh Division to send troops to suppress us. At this time, we’ll have our people within the Thirty-seventh Division rise from behind and thoroughly disrupt their deployment, then fish in troubled waters.”

”It’s best if we can control the headquarters of the Thirty-seventh Division, so we also need to select a group of daredevils to directly assault the headquarters outside the city amidst the chaos.”

According to this strategy, Malinkov’s plan achieves a three-pronged approach, greatly increasing its feasibility.

Malinkov said, ”In fact, based on our rich experience in Russia, once a power can be differentiated within the army belonging to us, just by leveraging this power to coerce other members of the army, we can swiftly achieve the goal of seizing military control.”

”And now, not only do we have influence within the army, but we have also carried out relatively prudent deployments, making the likelihood of success extremely high.”

”However, before that, we still need to wait for the final opportunity, which is the direction of the border. Once there is a war between the motherland and the Ukrainian puppet troops at the border, our plan can be implemented immediately.”

”That is to say, from now until the war breaks out, the timing is uncertain, so we need to be more cautious.”

”On one hand, continue to win over the army, and on the other, ensure that our plan does not get leaked. If the Ukrainian puppet government becomes aware beforehand, even if we seize Yekaterinoslav, the effect will be greatly diminished.”

If the news of the Yekaterinoslav uprising is exposed in advance, and if at that time, the Russian Red Army and Ukrainian puppet troops have not yet fought, the Ukrainian puppet government might mobilize troops from around to eliminate this unstable factor in advance.

According to Malinkov’s thinking, the timing of Yekaterinoslav’s uprising should be synchronized with the border engagements. This way, not only can it catch the Xiqueslav government by surprise, but it can also cause great confusion among the eastern front line Ukrainian puppet troops.

After all, if an enemy suddenly springs up from behind, how can the front line troops be at ease while confronting the Russian Red Army, and this is precisely the situation Malinkov hopes to see. It means it could help the Russian Red Army increase the success rate of breaking through the puppet troops’ fortified Donbass defense line.

This way, the Labor Party organization can maximize the effect of the Yekaterinoslav Movement. Conversely, if an accident occurs, Malinkov and others can only proceed with the uprising against all odds. Although it can also have a positive impact on the main battlefield, Malinkov would not be content with doing so.

Therefore, Malinkov emphasized the importance of secrecy to the Labor Party organization in Xiqueslav City in the next steps.

Thus, the subsequent activities of the Labor Party organization in Xiqueslav City became more covert and cautious, quietly awaiting the arrival of the final opportunity.
