Chapter 1459: Chapter 22: Persia (3)

Although, in the context of Persia, it is very difficult to develop in modern times, even if there is a possibility, East Africa does not allow forces around the Indian Ocean to threaten East African hegemony.

However, at present, Persia poses far less of a threat to East Africa than the United Kingdom and the Ottoman Empire, so appropriately supporting Persia is worth doing for East Africa.

It is only after the decline of the United Kingdom and the Ottoman Empire that Persia and other countries along the Indian Ocean will get their turn.

Cabriel said, ”This time our purpose is very clear, which is to deal with the Russians, and the emergence of the Russian Labor Party has not only inherited Russia’s original powerful military strength but also brought ideological weapons.”

”Therefore, our current assistance to Persia mainly involves three levels: Firstly, military aid, we will help his majesty the King train a reliable and elite force.”

”Secondly, we will assist Persia in economic construction, thereby stabilizing the current domestic turmoil in Persia.”

”Finally, to help your country, through various means of public opinion, prevent Russian infiltration into Persia.”

The words spoken by Cabriel, for Ahmed, not only failed to provide reassurance but rather made him deeply worried.

After all, the three points mentioned by Cabriel can all be explained with another set of rhetoric: Firstly, East Africa wants to control Persia’s military, secondly, control Persia’s economy, and thirdly, control the public opinion and other state apparatuses.

This way, doesn’t Persia become a complete puppet of East Africa? Naturally, upon careful consideration, it’s unlikely, because there are still British people within Persia.

Therefore, Ahmed, the king, did not dare directly refute Cabriel’s ”kindness” but rather reminded him, ”General Cabriel, I wonder if you have reached a consensus with the United Kingdom on these issues?”

General Cabriel said, ”Rest assured, your majesty the King, what we want to do in East Africa does not conflict with the British, we have already reached an agreement with the United Kingdom, which is to abandon prejudices and disagreements on the attitude towards the Russians, and have prepared accordingly for the relevant regions.”

The subtext of Cabriel was that East Africa had actually re-divided the sphere of influence between the two countries in Persia along with the British.

Of course, East Africa, with regard to such an ancient country as Persia, obviously cannot deal with it directly and brutally like with the indigenous people of Nanyang or Somali.

The international community can indulge East Africa in massacring uncivilized indigenous peoples, essentially because their civilization level is too low to be accepted by the international community.

Like the Zulu people eliminated by East Africa, most Europeans have never heard of them, but if it were Persia, it would be different; if Persia were eradicated by a certain country, it would cause waves not only in the Middle East but also throughout the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean coast.

After all, Persia might be famous, especially for Europe, Ancient Persia even influenced the course of European history.

This time, East Africa’s positioning of Persia is mainly economic colonialism, following East Africa’s expansion in the Indian Ocean region over the past twenty years and after the end of European wars, overt colonial expansion is no longer feasible.

And according to the new agreement between East Africa and the British government, East Africa has inherited the sphere of influence originally held by Russians in Persia, which includes the northern Persian capital Tehran, while most of the eastern and southern regions remain under British influence.
