The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 444: Chapter 444: The Dumbfounded Du Jiacai

After leaving the Patrol Office, Cheng Yuan said his goodbyes to Zhu Jiang. ”Uncle Zhu, thank you for making the trip down here yourself. I’ll visit you at the Zhu residence some other day.”

”Alright. I’ll head back first. We’ll have to have a good couple of drinks later, just the two of us.”

After parting with Zhu Jiang, Cheng Yuan and Cao Guanlin exchanged phone numbers. They chatted for a few more moments before Cheng Yuan took his leave.

Lin Ruoxi’s Mercedes van had been waiting for a while. She pulled open the car door and looked at Cheng Yuan with a complicated expression. She felt like she was beginning to find him inscrutable.

Although she didn’t recognize Zhu Jiang, she could tell from Cao Guanlin’s uniform that he was the director of a Patrol Office.

Yet, such an important figure was so respectful toward Cheng Yuan and that stern-faced middle-aged man.

’What on earth is going on?’

”Honey, who was that middle-aged man in the tunic suit? He’s so imposing, I didn’t even dare to look him in the eye.”

Cheng Yuan grinned. ”An elder.”

Lin Ruoxi rolled her eyes in exasperation. ”I know he’s an elder. I’m asking where this elder holds a position.”

”He holds a position at the Patrol Office.”

Lin Ruoxi felt like she was going crazy, but there was nothing she could do about Cheng Yuan.

Liu Qian smiled and leaned close to Lin Ruoxi’s ear, whispering Zhu Jiang’s identity to her.

Lin Ruoxi’s pupils contracted slightly, her face a mask of disbelief.

’He’s actually Zhu Song?’

’The Director of the Dongshan Patrol Headquarters?’

’What a ridiculously powerful figure!’

’And he’s Cheng Yuan’s elder?’

”Wait, that’s not right. Honey, if Director Zhu is your elder, why were you still framed and thrown in jail?”

”He’s an elder I got to know after I was released.”

”Alright...”

Cheng Yuan said with a grin, ”Honey, let’s not worry about Director Zhu for now. Your husband and your little sister have been wronged. It’s time you get revenge for us!”

”How can I get revenge? Do I even have the power to do that?”

”Of course you do. The person who had me arrested was Du Jiacai, the president of Du Pharmaceutical.”

’Du Pharmaceutical?’

Lin Ruoxi froze. ”That sounds a little familiar. I feel like I’ve heard that name before.”

Hua Fangfang, who was standing to the side, quickly added, ”President Lin, Du Pharmaceutical is a secondary distributor for our Yuanxi Pharmaceutical. They’re under the Hu Family.”

’The Hu Family?’

Lin Ruoxi’s brow furrowed almost imperceptibly, and her mood suddenly soured. ”Honey, since they’re a distributor for the Hu Family, you handle it yourself.”

Cheng Yuan’s expression also became a bit awkward. ’What an unfortunate coincidence.’

’Of all things, Du Pharmaceutical just had to be a sub-distributor for the Hu Family!’

Cheng Yuan didn’t shy away from it. He dialed Hu Minjiang’s number right in front of her. The call was answered almost instantly, and Hu Minjiang’s slightly lazy voice came through.

”Brother-in-law, what’s up?”

”Minjiang, do you have a secondary distributor called Du Pharmaceutical under you?”

”Yeah, I do. What’s wrong?”

”Du Jiacai’s son harassed my sister-in-law and even had me arrested and thrown in the Patrol Office. You tell me what should be done.”

”What? Which Patrol Office? I’ll come get you right now!”

”I’m already out. I’m asking you, how do you plan to deal with Du Pharmaceutical?”

”I’ll revoke their distribution rights immediately! And blacklist them completely from the Dongshan pharmaceutical community!!”

”There won’t be any breach-of-contract penalties, will there?”

Hu Minjiang replied with great confidence, ”Of course not. Lingxi Health Beverage is so popular that countless pharmaceutical companies are dying to be our distributors. As the primary party, our contracts have very loose restrictions, so we can replace distributors at will without any penalties.”

”Good. I’ll leave it to you to handle, then.”

「Bright District People’s Hospital.」

VIP Room 606.

Du Jinlong lay on the hospital bed, groaning incessantly in pain.

”Dad! Mom! It hurts so much!”

Du Jinlong’s mother, Fang Juan, was heartbroken. She choked back sobs and said, ”Old Du, that guy named Cheng is too vicious! He injured our son so badly! You can’t let him get away with it! And that bitch Liu Qian, don’t let her off easy either! Drag her over here and make her personally wait on our Golden Dragon!”

Du Jiacai comforted her in a soft voice, ”Xiaojuan, don’t worry. Old Yang has already taken them to the Patrol Office. Even if that Cheng fellow doesn’t die, he’ll lose a layer of skin! As for that Liu Qian... we’ll see if she knows what’s good for her. If she can serve our Golden Dragon well, we might just spare her miserable life!”

Just as he finished speaking, Du Jiacai’s phone rang. His eyes lit up. ’Could it be good news from Old Yang?’

Du Jiacai pulled out his phone to look, and the smile instantly vanished from his face. It wasn’t a call from Yang Zhaolin, but from his assistant, Xiaoshang.

”Xiaoshang, I’m rather busy right now. If it’s not something major, just hold off on it. I’ll deal with it at the office tomorrow.”

Xiaoshang’s slightly trembling voice came from the other end of the line. ”President Du, this can’t be held off! The Hu Family just unilaterally terminated our distribution contract! You should contact someone from the Hu Family as soon as possible!”

BUZZ!!

Du Jiacai felt like his head was about to explode.

Lately, the absolute top priority for Du Pharmaceutical had been the Lingxi Health Beverage.

He had already spent a fortune setting up several distribution channels, betting the entire future of Du Pharmaceutical on it.

If they lost their distribution rights, Du Pharmaceutical would be finished!

Du Jiacai quickly took out his phone and dialed Hu Minjiang’s number. To his frustration, a robotic female voice came from the earpiece.

”Sorry, the number you have dialed is busy. Please try again later.”

He tried calling several more times but got the same message every time.

Du Jiacai realized the gravity of the situation.

’Has Hu Minjiang blocked my number?’

Du Jiacai turned to his wife, Fang Juan. ”Xiaojuan, give me your phone.”

Du Jiacai used Fang Juan’s phone to call Hu Minjiang again. This time, he heard a ringing tone from the earpiece.

Soon, Hu Minjiang answered the call. ”This is Hu Minjiang, who is this?”

”Young Master Hu, it’s me! Du Jiacai. Why did you—”

Before he could finish his sentence, Hu Minjiang hung up on him!

Du Jiacai cursed, dialed back again, and found that Fang Juan’s number had been blocked too.

Du Jiacai was completely stunned. He couldn’t for the life of him figure out how he had offended Hu Minjiang.

Seeing Du Jiacai’s terrible expression and the way his large hand clutching the phone was trembling slightly, Fang Juan asked nervously, ”Old Du, what’s wrong?”

”I don’t know what’s going on! Hu Minjiang unilaterally terminated our distribution contract!”

Fang Juan’s face went deathly pale. She knew exactly what this meant—Du Pharmaceutical was going to collapse completely.

”But why?”

”I don’t know. Hu Minjiang won’t take my calls now.”

Fang Juan forced herself to calm down and said in a low voice, ”Old Du, ask Chunsheng. He’s the one who introduced you to Hu Minjiang! They’re as thick as thieves, so he can definitely find out what’s going on.”

”Right, right, right! I’ll ask Chunsheng!!”

Du Jiacai fumbled for his phone and dialed Xiao Chunsheng’s number. This time, the call connected quickly, and Xiao Chunsheng’s cold voice came through.

”Uncle Du, this is the last time I will ever answer your call. From this day forward, the Xiao Family and the Du Family are cutting all ties. We will never have anything to do with each other again!”
