The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 441: Chapter 441: Dealing with the Black Sheep

Du Jiagang took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, and answered the call.

”Principal Zhang, what instructions do you have for me?”

Zhang Yue Xian’s furious voice erupted from the other end of the line: ”Du Jiagang! I delegated authority to you, not so you could run wild! Why did you expel Liu Qian?”

THUMP.

Du Jiagang’s heart gave a violent lurch!

’It really is about Liu Qian!’

Du Jiagang cautiously explained, ”Principal Zhang, Liu Qian brought an outsider onto campus. He injured my nephew and even slapped me twice, so according to the regulations...”

Before Du Jiagang could finish, Zhang Yue Xian rudely cut him off.

”You have the nerve to mention your nephew? I’ve heard all about what a degenerate he is. If I wasn’t saving face for you, he would’ve been expelled long ago! Liu Qian must have been acting in self-defense! If Dongshan Medical University loses this laboratory because of you, you will go down in history as our university’s greatest traitor!!”

Du Jiagang couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

”Principal Zhang, is President Lin really canceling the lab donation over some brat who just popped up out of nowhere? Dongshan Medical University is a key partner of Yuanxi Pharmaceutical!”

”That brat who just popped up out of nowhere, as you put it, is President Lin’s husband and the chairman of Yuanxi Pharmaceutical!!”

’Chairman of Yuanxi Pharmaceutical?’

CLATTER.

Du Jiagang shuddered in terror. His phone slipped from his grasp, falling to the floor as the screen went dark.

Du Jiagang turned stiffly, forcing a smile that looked worse than a sob. The man, nearly sixty years old, gave Cheng Yuan, a mere youth, a deep, profound bow.

”Chairman Cheng! I truly had no idea it was you! I was so disrespectful earlier. Please, I beg you, forgive me just this once! When I get back, I will strictly discipline Jinlong and make sure he never bothers Liu Qian again!”

Nearby, Han Laishui’s face had also turned deathly pale with fright.

’Just who is this young man?’

’Look how terrified he’s made Principal Du!’

Cheng Yuan stared coldly at Du Jiagang. ”If I weren’t the chairman of Yuanxi Pharmaceutical, does that mean Du Jinlong can harass my Qianqian whenever he wants? That she can be expelled for no reason?”

”No, no, that’s not what I meant!”

Sweat beaded on Du Jiagang’s forehead as he explained frantically.

RING RING...

Cheng Yuan’s phone began to ring. It was Lin Ruoxi. Cheng Yuan answered.

”Honey, have you cooled off yet? Can we donate the lab now?”

”Tell Principal Zhang there’s one condition for Yuanxi to donate the lab: he has to get rid of the bad apple.”

THUMP. Du Jiagang collapsed onto the floor, his face a mask of utter despair.

He knew he was finished. Utterly and completely finished.

Cheng Yuan didn’t spare Du Jiagang another glance. He turned his expressionless gaze to the terrified Han Laishui. ”Director Han, can you sign it now?”

”Ye-yes, of course! Of course!!”

Han Laishui nodded vigorously, like a chicken pecking at grain. If even Principal Du was done for, what was a minor director like him? A nobody.

Han Laishui quickly signed his name and, with both hands, respectfully presented the application to Cheng Yuan. ”Mr. Cheng, please see if this is satisfactory.”

Cheng Yuan casually passed the application to Liu Qian. ”Qianqian, hold on to this.”

Liu Qian took the application, her eyes shining with pure adoration as she looked at Cheng Yuan. ’Her cousin was incredible! He’d put Vice Principal Du, who acted like a local despot, firmly in his place!’

Suddenly, the sound of many hurried footsteps echoed from outside.

The Principal’s Office was close to the Dean’s Office, and Zhang Yue Xian had rushed over personally with staff from the school’s Disciplinary Committee.

”Du Jiagang is suspected of violating university regulations. Seize him immediately.”

”Yes, sir!”

At Zhang Yue Xian’s command, the Disciplinary Committee staff surged forward and restrained Du Jiagang.

It was only then that Du Jiagang realized something even more terrifying.

’I had my brother call the Patrol Bureau! If they actually arrest Cheng Yuan, Du Pharmaceutical will be ruined!’

”Let me go! Can you just let me make one phone call?”

The Disciplinary Committee staff were unsure and looked to Zhang Yue Xian for guidance.

Unfortunately for him, Zhang Yue Xian had already decided to be severe and had no intention of giving Du Jiagang a chance to call for reinforcements. ”Take him away immediately! Under no circumstances is he to make any calls!”

”Yes, sir!”

Zhang Yue Xian took two steps forward and warmly grasped Cheng Yuan’s hand. ”Mr. Cheng, this was a failure of my leadership. I’ve let you and Miss Liu suffer. I offer you both my sincerest apologies.”

”Principal Zhang, there’s no need for that. This had nothing to do with you. Now that the bad apple has been dealt with, let’s look forward to a fruitful partnership between Yuanxi Pharmaceutical and Dongshan Medical University!”

”To a fruitful partnership!”

After a few more pleasantries, Lin Ruoxi readily signed the donation agreement. Then, she and Cheng Yuan announced their departure.

The four of them strolled through the campus, talking and laughing.

Seeing the vibrant, youthful students all around them, nostalgic expressions appeared on their faces.

Life was better in school, when they didn’t know the meaning of worry.

As they reached the parking lot, a group of Patrol Officers approached them. Among them were several fully-armed special police.

The sight took the four of them by surprise.

Lin Ruoxi asked curiously, ”Did something happen at Dongshan University? They’ve even dispatched the special police?”

Hua Fangfang said nervously, ”Chairman Cheng, President Lin, Qianqian, we should get out of the way. Let’s not interfere with a special police investigation.”

Cheng Yuan gave a wry smile. ”I’m afraid we can’t get out of the way. They’re probably here for us.”

Just as Cheng Yuan had predicted, upon spotting him and Liu Qian, one of the special police officers whispered in Yang Zhaoming’s ear, ”Director Yang, we’ve spotted the suspects up ahead!”

Yang Zhaoming glanced up at Cheng Yuan and Liu Qian. When he got a clear look at them, a relaxed smile spread across his face.

’Just a couple of young kids?’

’This is going to be too easy.’

”Alright, men, arrest these two suspects! And take their companions into custody as well!”

”Yes, sir!”

CLICK! CLACK!

The special police raised their firearms, the dark muzzles aimed squarely at Cheng Yuan’s group.

”You’re surrounded! Drop any resistance! Get on the ground with your hands on your head, now!”

Cheng Yuan, of course, was not afraid. He was a Martial King with the fighting strength of a Half-Step Martial Saint; ordinary bullets couldn’t even break his defense.

However, Lin Ruoxi, Liu Qian, and Hua Fangfang were ordinary people.

The three women’s faces paled with terror.

The three women quickly dropped to the ground, hands clasped behind their heads.

Cheng Yuan stepped forward, shielding the three women behind him. ”What unit are you?” he asked, his face devoid of expression. ”You point guns at us without even conducting an investigation?”

”I am Yang Zhaoming, Deputy Director of the Bright District Patrol Office! We’ve already reviewed the surveillance footage and confirmed the facts. You’re the one who injured Du Jinlong! We’re here to take you into custody!”

Cheng Yuan said coldly, ”That’s what you call confirming the facts? You conveniently fail to mention that Du Jinlong attacked me first.”

Yang Zhaoming immediately resorted to bureaucratic rhetoric. ”Du Jinlong is in the hospital. Our men will take his statement there. Now, stop resisting and come back with me to the Patrol Office!”

Cheng Yuan wasn’t afraid of bullets, but he was worried the three women might get hurt. He said coldly, ”Are you sure you want to take us to the Patrol Office? I’m afraid you’ll come to regret it.”

Yang Zhaoming snorted coldly. ”There’s one word you’ll never find in my vocabulary: ’regret.’ Now, take the suspect away!”
