The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 407: Chapter 407: Filial Piety that Moves Heaven and Earth

The hatred in Wu Qinghe’s eyes vanished in a flash, replaced by a warm smile. ”Since the Master’s descendant has been found, it is only right that the sect relinquishes the position of Sect Leader!”

Wu Qinghe’s confidants were about to go mad with anxiety!

Ma Gu, especially, was so anxious he was practically jumping up and down!

’What’s gotten into the Sect Leader—my Master?’

’Why is he giving in?’

’If it really comes to a fight, we have the advantage!’

’Even if the High Priest has a lot of tricks up his sleeve, it’s not certain who will come out on top!’

But with so many people watching, they couldn’t very well question Wu Qinghe’s decision.

Wu Qinghe ignored the hints from his confidants and readily handed the Sect Leader’s Scepter to Wutubo.

Wutubo nodded in satisfaction, turned, and presented the Sect Leader’s Scepter to Cheng Yuan, saying in a deep voice, ”From this moment on, the Young Master is enthroned as the Sect Leader of the Celestial Witch Sect! Greet the Sect Leader!”

Wutubo once again knelt on one knee. The others quickly followed suit, calling out in a thunderous chorus, ”We greet the Sect Leader!”

Cheng Yuan was slightly taken aback. He had already prepared for a major battle, but he hadn’t expected Wu Qinghe to be such a coward.

Cheng Yuan raised his hands slightly. ”Everyone, there’s no need for such formalities.”

The crowd rose, looking at Cheng Yuan with very complicated expressions. Although they didn’t want to admit it, they had to: this kid who had popped out of nowhere had just become their Sect Leader!

Wutubo asked, his voice trembling slightly with excitement, ”Young Master, how did you find the Celestial Witch Sect? Was it from a message left by the Master?”

Cheng Yuan shook his head lightly. ”Xuanyuan Potian gave me the address.”

”Ah, so it was Potian? Wait, that’s not right. If Potian was the one to recommend the Young Master, he should have notified our Celestial Witch Sect. Why was I not aware of this?”

Wutubo turned, fixing Wu Qinghe with a cold gaze. ”Elder Wu, care to explain?”

Wu Qinghe quickly put on a panicked and bewildered expression. ”High Priest, I never received any call from Junior Brother Potian.”

Wutubo, of course, did not believe Wu Qinghe’s words so easily. He took out his cell phone, dialed Xuanyuan Potian’s number, and asked bluntly, ”Potian, who did you notify about the Young Master coming to the Celestial Witch Sect?”

”I called Senior Brother Wu, but he seemed to be in seclusion. His disciple, Ma Gu, answered the phone.”

Hearing this, Wutubo’s expression softened slightly. If the problem had been with Wu Qinghe, the Celestial Witch Sect would have been thrown into massive turmoil!

Fortunately, the problem was only with Ma Gu.

’It must be because of the Celestial Slayer Spirit Liquid, right?’

’If the Young Master came, there’s no way the Celestial Slayer Spirit Liquid would ever go to Ma Gu.’

Wutubo looked at Ma Gu coldly. ”Ma Gu, would you care to explain why you concealed the news about the Young Master? Was it for the Celestial Slayer Spirit Liquid?”

Ma Gu hurriedly pushed all the blame onto his already-dead father.

”Reporting to the High Priest, I told my father the news of the Young Master’s arrival and asked him to relay it to you. I don’t know why my father didn’t pass the message on to you.”

’Ma Fei?’

The High Priest frowned deeply. Ma Fei was already at death’s door. Why would he do such a thing?

”Have Ma Fei come see me!”

Cheng Yuan said coolly, ”Grand Elder, don’t waste your effort. Ma Fei is already dead.”

’Dead?’

Wutubo froze.

Meanwhile, Wu Qinghe and Ma Gu were so nervous their palms were sweating, wondering if their plot had been exposed.

”Young Master, you’ve met Ma Fei?”

”Yesterday afternoon, Ma Fei picked me up, but he didn’t seem very familiar with the route. He took me to a swamp, and I almost couldn’t get out.”

’Not familiar with the route?’

’Impossible!’

’A swamp?’

Everyone’s expression changed. They subconsciously glanced at Wu Qinghe and Ma Gu, sensing a hint of conspiracy.

Wu Qinghe put on a furious expression, pointed at Ma Gu, and began to rail against him. ”Ma Gu, what were you and your father planning? To assassinate the Young Master?”

THUD. Ma Gu dropped to his knees. He knew this was his master sacrificing a pawn to save the king.

”Master, your disciple has been wronged! I didn’t know my father would take the Young Master to the Death Swamp! However, I can probably guess my father’s intentions. He must have resented the Young Master for snatching away my opportunity.”

SLAP!

Wu Qinghe slapped Ma Gu hard across the face. ”How dare you say that? What opportunity did you have? All opportunities for us in the Celestial Witch Sect were bestowed by the Master! That drop of Celestial Witch Spirit Liquid rightfully belongs to the Young Master!”

”Master’s lesson is correct. That was indeed the Young Master’s opportunity. However, I can guarantee that I did not know of my father’s plan beforehand. Otherwise, I would have upheld justice and turned him in, even if he was my own family!”

Cheng Yuan snorted coldly. ’What a convincing act. If I hadn’t checked Ma Fei’s memories, I really would have been fooled by them.’

However, Cheng Yuan didn’t expose Wu Qinghe and Ma Gu’s lies. After all, the Soul-Searching Technique was far too evil to be revealed.

’Besides, as the Sect Leader, I have countless ways to deal with Wu Qinghe and his disciple!’

Cheng Yuan said coolly, ”I understand the last wish of an old father. Ma Gu is right. If I hadn’t come to the Celestial Witch Sect, the opportunity would indeed have been his.”

Ma Gu quickly admitted his fault. ”The son must pay for the father’s debts. This subordinate is willing to accept punishment on my father’s behalf! Please punish me, Young Master.”

Cheng Yuan watched Ma Gu with a blank expression. ’This kid is actually trying to force my hand?’

’Interesting.’

Of course, Cheng Yuan wouldn’t actually take his anger out on Ma Gu. Doing so would give him a reputation for being harsh and malicious, making everyone in the Celestial Witch Sect feel insecure.

Cheng Yuan put on a deeply moved expression. ”Ma Gu, the bond between you and your father has moved me deeply! I will permit you to go to the Death Swamp, retrieve your father’s body, and give him a proper burial.”

Ma Gu’s face instantly turned deathly pale. The Death Swamp was a place of certain doom! Was it somewhere a person could just enter casually?

However, having just put on a show of filial piety, he couldn’t refuse. He could only force a look of profound gratitude onto his face. ”Thank you, Sect Leader, for your grace!”

A slight smile touched the corners of Cheng Yuan’s lips. ’Ma Gu is dealt with. Next up is Wu Qinghe.’

Right now, his strength was about on par with Wu Qinghe’s. Even with the aid of the mini Mountain Protection Array, he couldn’t be certain he could eliminate Wu Qinghe.

After all, Wu Qinghe had been the Sect Leader for so many years; Cheng Yuan had no idea how many hidden cards he held.

Cheng Yuan didn’t make a rash move. ’As long as I can successfully break through to the Martial King realm, my actual combat power should reach that of a Half-Step Martial Saint, right?’

’At that point, eliminating a Martial Emperor Peak like Wu Qinghe will be a piece of cake.’

Cheng Yuan gave Wu Qinghe a cool glance, then turned to Wutubo and said in a solemn voice, ”High Priest, I didn’t come to the Celestial Witch Sect for the Celestial Slayer Spirit Liquid, but for the Secret Inheritance Holy Land. It seems the Celestial Dao Laws of the outside world do not fully recognize our Celestial Witch Lineage’s inheritance.”

Wutubo’s eyes lit up, and he asked in pleasant surprise, ”Young Master, you’ve already touched the threshold of the Martial King realm?”

Cheng Yuan nodded slightly. ”Yes.”

”Young Master, may this old servant check your bone age?”

”You may.”

Wutubo tremblingly grasped Cheng Yuan’s wrist. He then began to shake with excitement and couldn’t help but burst out laughing!

”HAHAHA! The heavens have blessed our Celestial Witch Sect! The heavens have blessed the Master! The Young Master’s talent is so immense! A twenty-two-year-old Martial King... this old man has never seen such a thing in my entire life!”
