The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 397: Chapter 397: Why Run?

Outside the wooden cabin.

Wan Liang, to his credit, showed some loyalty. He hadn’t fled on his own. Instead, while the black bear was attacking the cabin, he had scrambled onto the roof of the men’s cabin.

Hearing the girls’ shouts, Wan Liang quickly turned to look. Seeing the black bear stuck in the cabin doorway, his eyes lit up. Without hesitation, he nocked an arrow and fired!

SWOOSH!!

The sharp arrow struck the black bear squarely in the back!

This time, Wan Liang wasn’t nervous, and his aim was true.

However, because the black bear was writhing manically, the arrow missed its heart and struck a lung instead!

Even so, for the black bear, it was still a grievous wound!

The black bear sensed a mortal threat. It stopped trying to force its way into the cabin and, enraged, turned to charge at Wan Liang!

SWOOSH!

Wan Liang fired another arrow, this one hitting the black bear’s belly!

The black bear howled in pain. By now, it utterly despised Wan Liang, making him its number one target to kill!

The black bear charged to the base of the cabin, but it couldn’t reach Wan Liang. It could only vent its fury on the building itself!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The cabin shook violently, on the verge of being pushed over by the black bear at any moment!

Cheng Yuan slowly walked out of his cabin, watching the black bear with great interest. He planned to wait for the bear to tire itself out a bit more; hunting it then would be much easier.

Wan Liang had run out of arrows. ”Xiang Fei! Luo Hou! Chen Ping! Help me!” he roared.

Xiang Fei and Luo Hou were out of Crossbow Arrows. How could they dare to provoke a crazed black bear?

Chen Ping, on the other hand, did have Crossbow Arrows, but for some reason, he didn’t make a move.

Was he afraid of the frenzied bear turning its hatred on him?

Or was it because he harbored a grudge for being ostracized by Wan Liang and the others?

Chen Ping stood behind a cabin window, his expression cold as he watched the black bear attack the building.

Wan Liang was about to go insane with rage. He shouted, ”I shot that bear to save you! And now you’re not going to help me? You’re a bunch of ungrateful bastards!!”

Xiang Fei and Luo Hou lowered their heads in shame. Wan Liang had indeed fired those arrows to save them. If they didn’t go out to help, how were they any different from ungrateful bastards?

Especially in front of the three girls, Xiang Fei and Luo Hou couldn’t afford to lose face like this!

Xiang Fei gritted his teeth and yelled, ”Young Master Wan! I, Xiang Fei, am coming to help you!!”

Luo Hou followed up with a shout of his own, ”Young Master Wan! I, Luo Hou, am no ungrateful bastard! I’m your best brother!!”

The two of them charged out of the cabin, yelling, and sprinted toward the black bear!

Hearing footsteps behind it, the black bear turned and let out a furious roar at the two men!

”ROAR!!”

Their courage instantly evaporated. Their legs went weak with fear, and they plopped right onto the ground, scrambling backward with their hands and feet!

Xiang Fei was so scared he even dropped his Hunting Blade!

Fortunately, the bear’s aggro was focused entirely on Wan Liang. It ignored the two men who were scared out of their wits and continued its assault on the cabin!

Under the bear’s attack, the cabin teetered, looking like it would be toppled at any moment!

Wan Liang was utterly disappointed in Xiang Fei and Luo Hou. Those two losers weren’t even as good as the newcomer, Cheng Yuan!

Although Cheng Yuan hadn’t come to help, at least he wasn’t pissing himself in fear. He was just calmly leaning against his cabin, watching the show.

Wan Liang didn’t expect the newcomer Cheng Yuan to save him. He drew his Hunting Blade and yelled, ”Cheng Yuan! Stop spacing out! My cabin is about to collapse! I’m going to fight this bear to the death! Use this chance to get the girls and run! Save who you can! If you stay here, we’re all going to die!”

Cheng Yuan was slightly moved. To be honest, he’d had a very poor impression of Wan Liang.

He hadn’t expected Wan Liang to care about the lives of others at a critical moment.

Xiang Fei and Luo Hou were overjoyed. They immediately shouted, ”Young Master Wan! Don’t worry! We’ll take all the girls away! On this day next year, we’ll be sure to burn plenty of paper money for you!”

A sense of desolation welled up in Wan Liang’s heart. He never thought his life would come to this!

Soon, Xiang Fei and Luo Hou led the three girls out of their cabin. Xiang Fei yelled at Cheng Yuan, ”Cheng Yuan! Let’s go!”

But Cheng Yuan showed no intention of fleeing. He rolled his wrists and neck, then slowly started walking toward the black bear. On his way, he picked up the Hunting Blade that Xiang Fei had dropped.

His Broken Blade was sharper, but it was too short, after all.

Against a dumb brute like this black bear, a Hunting Blade was more suitable.

Xiang Fei and Luo Hou were speechless. ’Is this kid insane?’

”If Cheng Yuan won’t go, forget him! Let’s get out of here!”

He Jing was frantic. She yelled, ”Cheng Yuan, what are you doing? Run! It’ll be too late if you don’t run now!”

Cheng Yuan grinned. ”Why run? We just have to kill this beast!”

Wan Liang was visibly startled. He stared blankly as Cheng Yuan walked over, step by step.

Wan Liang could never have imagined that at this critical moment, his so-called brothers would abandon him, and only his supposed rival, Cheng Yuan, would step up to help!

Waves of shame washed over Wan Liang. He had actually been planning to teach Cheng Yuan a harsh lesson earlier. How could he have been so wrong!

’If I survive this, from now on, Cheng Yuan will be my real brother!’

SHING!

Wan Liang drew his Hunting Blade and, with heroic fervor, shouted, ”To find a true friend before death is enough for one lifetime! Brother Cheng, I will fight by your side!”

With a SWOOSH, Wan Liang leaped up and jumped down from the cabin roof!

In that moment, Wan Liang looked valiant and heroic!

The three girls were captivated. Even He Jing, who had always looked down on him, couldn’t help but give him props!

Wan Liang was a real man!

Unfortunately, Wan Liang couldn’t stay cool for more than three seconds.

When he landed, his footing was unstable, and he tumbled to the ground with a THUD!

Wan Liang let out a muffled groan and instinctively clutched his ankle. It was already swollen to the size of a bun!

In this condition, even walking would be difficult, let alone fighting!

The black bear clearly paused for a second. ’Why did this prey suddenly jump down?’

But that didn’t matter!

Since the prey had jumped down, there was no need to keep ramming the cabin!

The black bear let out a ferocious roar and lunged toward Wan Liang!

With his injured ankle, Wan Liang couldn’t possibly dodge. He could only raise his Hunting Blade in a token gesture, attempting one last struggle.

’I just hope I can hold the bear’s attention for a little longer, to buy Brother Cheng and the others as much time as possible to escape!’

Just as Wan Liang braced himself for death, he saw an invincible-looking figure!

This figure was seared into the depths of his memory, never to be forgotten!

Cheng Yuan moved!

In a flash, Cheng Yuan appeared behind the black bear!

”Beast, your opponent is me!”

SCHLICK!

The Hunting Blade viciously hacked into the black bear’s back, leaving a diagonal gash over ten centimeters deep and nearly half a meter long!

Flesh and skin peeled back from the wound, so deep that bone was visible!

The visual impact was staggering!

Women admire heroes, and seeing such a bloody scene sent their adrenaline skyrocketing. The three women began to scream wildly!

”Cheng Yuan, you’re a badass!!”

”A blade hunt! Mr. Cheng is really hunting the black bear with a blade!!”

”Mr. Cheng! Kill that black bear! I, Wang Yan, want to have your babies!!”
