The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 386: Chapter 386: Running into an Acquaintance

Unfortunately, Lin Ruoxi had no interest whatsoever in Tang Yifei’s plea for allegiance.

Chen Xiaotong was simple-minded and had just been goaded on by others.

Tang Yifei, on the other hand, was far too insidious. If she were allowed to stay at Huangyu Media, she would become a menace sooner or later.

Lin Ruoxi said coolly, ”Miss Tang, you’re pleading with the wrong person. You should be pleading with Qingcheng. As of today, Qingcheng is the new CEO of Huangyu Media, with full authority over all its affairs.”

The good news was so sudden that Liu Qingcheng could barely breathe!

Liu Qingcheng swore her allegiance with immense excitement. ”Boss, Madam, you can rest assured that I will manage Huangyu Media well! I’ll clear out all the vermin!”

As she spoke, Liu Qingcheng shot a cold glance at Tang Yifei.

Utterly despairing, Tang Yifei collapsed to the floor.

As the saying goes, a new broom sweeps clean. Liu Qingcheng’s methods were ruthless and decisive. She immediately shelved or blacklisted a third of the company’s female stars!

It was precisely this ruthlessness that allowed Liu Qingcheng to take control of Huangyu Media so smoothly.

Even the old guard at Huangyu Media became completely obedient, terrified of being purged themselves.

Seeing how quickly Liu Qingcheng had brought the situation under control, Cheng Yuan and Lin Ruoxi were very pleased and confidently left Huangyu Media in her hands.

After they left Private Room 9, Han Zhongming asked cautiously, ”Brother Yuan, I’ve had a table prepared in Private Room 1. I was wondering if I might have the honor of treating you and your wife to a meal?”

Lin Ruoxi refused without a second thought. ”No, thank you. Cheng Yuan has been shot. We need to get to a hospital first.”

Cheng Yuan grinned. ”There’s no need for a hospital. I’m a doctor myself.”

As he spoke, Cheng Yuan patted his body a few times, and three gleaming brass bullet slugs popped out.

The sight made everyone’s eyes twitch uncontrollably.

’Is Brother Yuan a monster?’

”Cheng Yuan, are you really okay?”

Lin Ruoxi looked at Cheng Yuan, her face etched with worry.

Cheng Yuan grinned, took off his shirt, and showed his wounds to Lin Ruoxi.

Cheng Yuan’s constitution was so robust that in just this short amount of time, new flesh was already starting to granulate in the wounds.

Lin Ruoxi exclaimed in amazement, ”Honey, is your body even real? Are you actually human? Are you sure you’re not an alien?”

Cheng Yuan grinned. ”To a certain extent, I suppose I do have some alien genes.”

”Oh, get out of here!” Lin Ruoxi rolled her eyes at him.

”Well, since Cheng Yuan’s injuries are nothing serious, we might as well get something to eat. To be honest, I’m actually getting a little hungry.”

Led by Han Zhongming, the group chatted and laughed as they entered Private Room 1.

”Wow, is this the oil painting that’s worth tens of millions? This is incredible!”

This was Liu Qingcheng’s first time in Private Room 1. She looked around, touching things here and there, barely able to contain her excitement.

Liu Qingcheng knew that she owed everything she had today to the favor shown by Ruoxi and her husband. She was determined to do a good job and not betray their trust.

He Zhendong had been sitting in the seat of honor earlier, but now he didn’t dare to be so presumptuous. He insisted that Cheng Yuan take the main seat and even had a fresh set of tableware brought for him.

Liu Qingcheng proactively took a seat in a subordinate position and began pouring tea for everyone.

The meal was a cheerful and harmonious affair.

”Brother Yuan, Madam, would you like to do some sightseeing in Beijing? I’d be happy to be your guide.”

Lin Ruoxi declined with a smile. ”Business in Dongshan is a bit hectic right now. I’m planning to head back this afternoon.”

As she spoke, she looked at Cheng Yuan with an expectant gaze, hoping he would return to Dongshan with her.

Cheng Yuan wanted very much to go back with Lin Ruoxi, but he had to make a trip to the Celestial Witch Sect to find a way to break through to the Martial King realm.

”Ruoxi, I need to make a trip to Nanjiang. I’ll be back within three days. As it happens, I have an armed helicopter here that can take you directly back to the Provincial City.”

The group went up to the rooftop of the Lan Club, and sure enough, an armed helicopter was waiting there.

Liu Qingcheng’s pupils contracted slightly. ’I can’t believe my brother-in-law has connections in the Battle Department. That’s just insane, isn’t it?’

Lin Ruoxi gave Cheng Yuan a deep look, feeling that he was becoming more and more of an enigma to her.

However, with so many people there to see her off, Lin Ruoxi could only swallow the myriad questions she had and ask none of them.

After the helicopter departed, He Zhendong personally drove Cheng Yuan to the airport.

He Zhendong thoughtfully bought Cheng Yuan a set of casual clothes and a business-class plane ticket.

Guided by a staff member, Cheng Yuan entered the VIP lounge.

About ten other travelers were resting in the VIP lounge.

Five or six of them were successful business types.

The other seven were young people dressed in outdoor jackets and athletic shoes; it was clear at a glance that they were heading to Nanjiang for tourism and adventure.

Cheng Yuan found an empty seat and sat down, closing his eyes to rest.

Among the seven young people were three girls. One of them was particularly delicate and pretty, with an ethereal air about her.

The four boys were clearly interested in her, hovering around and chattering nonstop as they tried to show off their wit and humor.

Unfortunately, the girl was clearly not interested in them.

Due to the angle, the girl couldn’t see Cheng Yuan’s face, only his back. She froze for a moment. ’Why does he look so familiar?’

However, her pride wouldn’t allow her to take the initiative and approach a man to say hello.

After about half an hour, a staff member politely announced, ”Distinguished guests, you may now board.”

Cheng Yuan was the first to rise, boarding ahead of the others through the VIP channel.

Cheng Yuan moved quickly and was the first to board the plane. Guided by a business-class flight attendant, he found his seat and plopped down into it.

Cheng Yuan sent a text to Xuanyuan Potian, then closed his eyes to rest.

Next came the business travelers. Though they were on the older side, they walked with a powerful, confident stride.

The group of young people was the last to enter the cabin. The girl subconsciously glanced at Cheng Yuan, and her face immediately lit up with surprised delight!

’No wonder his back looked so familiar!’

’It’s Dr. Cheng!’

To the girl’s even greater delight, her seat was right next to Cheng Yuan’s!

Her steps became much lighter as she sat down beside Cheng Yuan. Tilting her head, she studied his strikingly handsome profile with great interest.

’I haven’t seen him in a month, and he’s still just as handsome!’

This group of young people was from the same hunting and adventure club. Organized by their president, Wan Liang, they were on their way to the Hundred Thousand Mountains to hunt bears.

Wan Liang was from a rich family; his father was a mid-sized real estate developer.

Because of his affluent background, Wan Liang’s word was law in the club.

Wan Liang walked up to Cheng Yuan and greeted him politely. ”Hi there. I’m Wan Liang from Xinhuan Real Estate. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Cheng Yuan slowly opened his eyes and asked coolly, ”Can I help you?”

Wan Liang asked in a friendly tone, ”Xiaojing and I are traveling together. Would it be possible to switch seats with you? I’d owe you a favor. If you ever buy property from Xinhuan Real Estate in the future, just mention my name and I can get you a twenty-percent discount.”

Wan Liang’s attitude was friendly enough, and his tone was polite.

Cheng Yuan thought it was a reasonable request; after all, they were traveling together.

Just as Cheng Yuan was about to nod in agreement, the girl beside him suddenly spoke up. ”President Wan, I’m sorry, but Cheng Yuan is a good friend of mine.”

Huh?

Cheng Yuan instinctively turned his head and saw a familiar, pretty face.
