The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 189: Chapter 189: My Backer Is You

Cheng Yuan’s gaze darkened. Someone was telling him to get out... of his own establishment?

Heh...

Cheng Yuan shot Zhu Chao a cold glance and mentally sentenced him to death.

However, Cheng Yuan didn’t act immediately. After all, Zhu Chao was clearly targeting Ji Yanjun and Tan Jie. He might as well let them fight it out.

Once they had both taken a beating, he would step in and clean up the mess.

Zhu Chao was being utterly disrespectful, demanding to clear the room. Tan Jie’s expression turned ugly. He said coldly, ”Vice President Chu, the customer is god. Is this how you treat your ’gods’? Don’t force me to report this to President Zhu.”

Surrounded by Iron Bull and the other security guards, Zhu Chao strode forward aggressively, like a grand general charging across a battlefield, and shot Tan Jie a contemptuous look.

’A mere director daring to challenge me, a vice president?’

’Who does he think he is?’

Zhu Chao said coldly, ”I always thought you, Tan Jie, were Zhu Qishan’s right-hand man. He’s about to be transferred, but he didn’t tell you. It seems you’re not that important to him after all!”

Tan Jie’s expression changed. ’President Zhu is being transferred? How come I haven’t heard a single whisper about it?’

’If I lose President Zhu as my backer, life is going to get a lot harder!’

”Vice President Chu, don’t spread baseless rumors! If President Zhu were really being transferred, he would have told me immediately! I, Tan Jie, didn’t get to where I am today by being a coward! You, Zhu Chao, have no right to kick out my guests!”

Jiang Li, who was standing to the side, snorted. ”Tan Jie, you really think you’re somebody, don’t you? Let me tell you the truth: the person Vice President Chu is hosting shortly is a top young master from the Provincial City! If you know what’s good for you, get out of here with your old classmates! Otherwise, if you displease the young masters, they can ruin you with a single word!”

’A top young master from the Provincial City?’

Tan Jie’s expression shifted slightly. Although the Chu Family was just a third-rate family, Zhu Chao did indeed know a few young masters from second-rate families.

’If it’s one of them, it’s not just me—even President Zhu couldn’t afford to offend them!’

Before Tan Jie could respond, Li Bo, who was eager to suck up to Ji Yanjun, stepped forward and shouted, ”Just a few spoiled rich kids? Who are you trying to scare? President Ji’s backer is a top-tier powerhouse in the Provincial City! Compared to President Ji, those spoiled brats are nothing!”

A fine sheen of sweat instantly broke out on Ji Yanjun’s forehead.

’Li Bo was basically roasting him over an open flame!’

’He didn’t know any top-tier powerhouses!’

However, in front of so many people, Ji Yanjun couldn’t show his fear. He could only continue to feign a calm and inscrutable expression.

Seeing Ji Yanjun looking so ’calm’, Tan Jie felt reassured. ’Could it be my old classmate has connections I don’t know about? If so, I have to stand by him!’

Tan Jie said in a deep voice, ”Vice President Chu, the rich kids you know are, at best, from second-rate families! Are you sure you want to offend a top-tier figure for the sake of a few spoiled brats?”

If the guest hadn’t been Zhu Yunhu, Zhu Chao might have actually been intimidated. It was true that he only knew a few spoiled brats from second-rate families, and their status within their own families wasn’t high. They would never dare to provoke a true top-tier powerhouse.

But Zhu Yunhu was different. His father was the Director of the Dongshan Patrol Headquarters and concurrently the head of the Political and Legal Affairs Department. In all of Dongshan Province, you could count the number of people who could keep Zhu Yunhu in check on two hands!

Of course, Zhu Chao wasn’t about to be scared off by a wealthy businessman from Luocheng like Ji Yanjun.

Of course, people in the hotel business were known for being smooth operators.

Even if Zhu Chao was a playboy, he was still a relatively cautious one.

Zhu Chao looked at Ji Yanjun with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. ”President Ji, is it? The honored guest I’m hosting shortly is Brother Yunhu of the Zhu Family! I suggest you’d better have your backer get in touch with Brother Yunhu! Otherwise, I’m afraid this situation today is going to blow up!”

’Zhu Yunhu?’

Hearing this name, the corners of Cheng Yuan’s mouth turned up slightly. ’What a small world.’

’Maybe I’ll join Yunhu’s table later.’

Tan Jie, however, shuddered violently!

He had thought Zhu Chao was hosting some spoiled brat from a second-rate family. He never imagined the man had managed to climb his way up to a powerhouse like the Zhu Family! And it was a direct descendant, one who was held in high regard!

He’d heard that despite his young age, Zhu Yunhu was already the captain of the Xing Arrest Team!

Leaving aside his status as a direct descendant of the Zhu Family, just his position as captain of the Xing Arrest Team alone was enough to make him someone Tan Jie couldn’t afford to provoke!

Tan Jie hurried over to Ji Yanjun and whispered in his ear, ”Old Ji, Young Master Zhu is a top-tier young master in the Provincial City. Can your backer handle him?”

Ji Yanjun’s head was splitting. ’Is it really this hard to put on a front?’

’Academically, I get crushed by Cheng Yuan’s little sister!’

’I just want to have a meal, and I’m getting the room cleared out from under me!’

’I’ve been completely and utterly humiliated!’

Ji Yanjun whispered back in Tan Jie’s ear, ”Old Tan, you don’t know if I have a backer? You’re my backer! Can you handle this?”

PFFT...

Tan Jie almost coughed up blood!

’Old Ji’s backer... is me??’

’And he wants me to go up against Zhu Yunhu?’

’Is this some kind of sick joke??’

’This guy Old Ji is going to be the death of me!’

’If you don’t have a backer, why act so high and mighty?’

Tan Jie stuck out his pinky finger and said with extreme bitterness, ”Old Ji, Young Master Zhu only needs to lift his pinky to have our families ruined and leave us homeless. You tell me if I can handle that.”

Ji Yanjun’s face went pale. ”Then what do we do? Is it too late to apologize and admit we were wrong?”

”I hope it’s not too late. If it really comes to it, I’ll call President Zhu and ask him to put in a good word for us. Hopefully President Zhu has some pull with Young Master Zhu.”

With that, Tan Jie dialed Zhu Qishan’s number. The call connected quickly, and Zhu Qishan’s calm voice came through, ”Xiaotan, I’m very busy. Get to the point.”

”President Zhu, I’ve had a small misunderstanding with Young Master Yunhu of the Zhu Family. Could you possibly help say a few good words? I’m in a situation here...”

He wasn’t even finished speaking before Zhu Qishan rudely cut him off.

”Tan Jie! Are you crazy? How dare you provoke just anyone? Young Master Zhu is one of the most powerful figures in our Provincial City. He can decide the life or death of ordinary people like us with a single sentence! I’m about to be transferred, I can’t manage your damn messes! Don’t call me again. That’s it!”

After saying his piece, Zhu Qishan quickly hung up, terrified of being dragged down by Tan Jie.

Tan Jie felt his world crumbling. He had thought Zhu Chao was just making empty threats, but he never expected that President Zhu was really being transferred!

’Now what am I going to do?’

Tan Jie’s expression changed in an instant. He turned to Zhu Chao with a fawning look on his face. ”President Chu, you’re hosting an honored guest! You could have just given me a call, why trouble yourself by coming in person? We’ll clear the room right now!!”

After speaking, Tan Jie turned to Ji Yanjun with a bitter smile. ”Old Ji, I’ll pick out a new private room for you all. I’ll have to trouble you to explain the situation to your friends.”
