The Beautiful CEO's Personal Mad Doctor

Chapter 151: Chapter 151: My Husband Is the Major Shareholder of Yuanxi Auction House

Bai Xuening’s face paled, and she quickly denied it. ”A misunderstanding! This is all a misunderstanding! If I’d known Cheng Yuan was President Lin’s husband, how would I have dared to say he had poor taste? With a wife as outstanding as President Lin, it’s only right that Cheng Yuan isn’t interested in me. This is all my fault. I never should have tried to reach for someone like him!”

Since Bai Xuening had already said this, Lin Ruoxi didn’t press the issue further.

However, Xu Ke didn’t want to let Bai Xuening off so easily. ”Sister-in-law, just now Bai Xuening even wanted to introduce Brother Yuan to a job! She wanted to get Brother Yuan a mid-level position at Dawn System Doors and Windows.”

Lin Ruoxi smiled faintly. ”Miss Bai, thank you for your kind intentions, but my husband is the majority shareholder of Yuanxi Auction House. I’m afraid he won’t be able to take a position at Dawn System Doors and Windows.”

Cheng Yuan is Yuanxi’s majority shareholder?

No wonder the auction house is called Yuanxi Auction House. It turns out it’s their two names combined!

Lin Ruoxi’s words blew all the classmates’ minds!

The classmates had originally thought that Cheng Yuan was just lucky to have found such an outstanding wife like President Lin!

Who would have thought that he was the real majority shareholder?

Didn’t Cheng Yuan spend two years in prison? Where did he get the money?

The way the classmates looked at Cheng Yuan completely changed—from contempt to awe, and now, to a touch of sycophancy.

Bai Xuening felt even worse!

She had thought that after two years in prison, Cheng Yuan had sunk to the very bottom of society, and that now, he was the one who couldn’t hope to reach her level!

But who would have thought that he was actually Yuanxi’s majority shareholder!

In the end, she was still the one who couldn’t hope to reach Cheng Yuan’s level!

’This is so fucking ridiculous!’

Lin Ruoxi didn’t stay long. She smiled and said her goodbyes to Cheng Yuan. ”Honey, I still have important guests to attend to. Now that the toast is done, I’ll head back.”

”I’ll walk you out.”

Lin Ruoxi didn’t refuse. She took Cheng Yuan’s arm affectionately and strolled gracefully out of the Champion Scholar Pavilion.

After the two of them walked out the door, the entire Champion Scholar Pavilion erupted in noise.

The classmates all broke into excited discussion.

”This is hilarious! Bai Xuening is just an intern Antique Appraiser at Yuanxi, and she’s already so full of herself. And then she offers to find a job for Yuanxi’s majority shareholder? Could she be any more embarrassed?”

”Cheng Yuan found such an incredible wife and didn’t even make a big deal about it, but Bai Xuening finds some rich second-generation kid and she can’t wait to announce it to the whole world! That’s the difference between them!”

”No wonder Cheng Yuan wasn’t interested in Bai Xuening back then. Compared to President Lin, Bai Xuening really doesn’t measure up, whether in looks or in character.”

...

Xu Ke’s current mood was indescribable, like drinking an ice-cold soda on the hottest day of summer. He wore a smug look as he watched the somewhat awkward Tang Mingcheng and Bai Xuening.

”Tang Mingcheng, weren’t you going to ruin our Tengya? I’ve got Brother Yuan backing me now! Let’s see you try! You pissed off Brother Yuan, so you better watch your back! I hope your Dawn System Doors and Windows doesn’t go bankrupt!”

Tang Mingcheng’s expression darkened, and he snorted coldly. ”Xu Ke, don’t get cocky! Even if Cheng Yuan does have some influence, he’s only a big shot in the cultural and antique circles. His reach doesn’t extend to the real estate world! What are you so smug about? You think he can find you business? I’m telling you right now, from this day forward, if your Tengya can land a single commercial contract, I’ll admit defeat!”

Xu Ke’s heart sank, but he couldn’t let it show on his face. He retorted with a show of force, ”You talk as if you, Tang Mingcheng, are the kingpin of Luocheng’s real estate world! Well, I’m going to take on commercial projects just to make you eat your words!”

Tang Mingcheng and Xu Ke argued heatedly.

Meanwhile, Cheng Yuan walked Lin Ruoxi back to the Evergreen Pavilion and, in his capacity as her husband, had a drink with Dong Zhengjian.

”Teacher Dong, you’re a friend of Teacher Zhang, which makes you my friend as well. If you run into any trouble in Luocheng, just let me know.”

”Hahaha, if I ever run into trouble, I’ll be sure to tell you.”

”Well then, Teacher Dong, please enjoy your meal. I have friends waiting for me.”

”Mr. Cheng, I’ll see you out.”

Dong Zhengjian and Zhang Zhigang walked Cheng Yuan out of the private room. Suddenly, Cheng Yuan’s phone rang. He took it out and saw it was a call from Wu Fei.

Cheng Yuan answered the call and said casually, ”Xiaofei, what’s up?”

”Brother Yuan, the zoning for that piece of land has been changed. It can now be developed for commercial housing.”

”I won’t bother with pleasantries between brothers like us. Let me know when you’re free, I’ll treat you to a meal.”

”Hahaha, sounds good.”

While Cheng Yuan was on the phone, a vaguely familiar voice came from the side. ”Brother Yuan, what a coincidence! You’re eating here too?”

Cheng Yuan hung up the phone, turned toward the voice, and saw a somewhat familiar face.

Cheng Yuan couldn’t help but grin. ’Talk about perfect timing.’ He never expected to run into Mei Bin here.

”Xiaobin, that piece of land that used to belong to your family—its zoning has been changed. I’m getting ready to develop it soon. Recommend a few reliable construction teams and suppliers for me.”

Mei Bin’s expression became a little unnatural. His family had spent three hundred million to acquire that land back then. Now, its value had at least doubled, maybe even reaching as high as a billion.

But now, that land belonged to Cheng Yuan.

But no matter how upset he felt, Mei Bin didn’t dare show it. Cheng Yuan was a master who could exorcise ghosts. He’d heard from his father that an extraordinary person like Cheng Yuan had countless ways to harm someone.

Mei Bin quickly forced a fawning smile. ”Don’t worry, Brother Yuan, I’ll get in touch with them for you right away. By tomorrow morning, I’ll have the information and proposals from the construction teams and suppliers sent to you.”

Cheng Yuan smiled and patted Mei Bin’s shoulder. ”Xiaobin, if this works out, I’ll be the Feng Shui consultant for your Xing’an Group for a year, free of charge.”

Mei Bin was overjoyed. ”Don’t worry, Brother Cheng! I’ll make sure it’s handled perfectly!”

Cheng Yuan smiled faintly and gave him a hint to leave. ”Alright, Xiaobin, you can get back to your business. I’m heading back; a lot of my classmates are waiting.”

Mei Bin quickly stopped Cheng Yuan. ”Which room are you in, Brother Yuan? I’ll come over to propose a toast in a bit.”

”Champion Scholar Pavilion.”

...

After the brief interlude, Cheng Yuan returned to the Champion Scholar Pavilion.

The classmates fell silent instantly, all of them looking at Cheng Yuan with gazes of utter reverence. The shock he had given them was simply too great!

Pan Gang, in particular, was panicking internally.

Tang Mingcheng’s Dawn Doors and Windows was, after all, an established Luocheng company, so he could afford not to be afraid of Cheng Yuan. But his family’s business was merely a supplier for Dawn Doors and Windows. In front of Yuanxi, they were just small fry.

If Cheng Yuan decided to cause them a little trouble, they would have to shut down for good.

Pan Gang instantly figured out his new position and transformed into Cheng Yuan’s lackey, acting as if the earlier unpleasantness had never happened.

Pan Gang shot up from his chair, his face wreathed in smiles as he hurried over to greet him.

”Brother Yuan, you’re back?”

Pan Gang’s enthusiasm made Cheng Yuan a little uncomfortable. He just gave a slight nod and strode toward his seat.

”Brother Yuan, please, have a seat.”

Pan Gang obsequiously pulled out the chair for Cheng Yuan, then used his own sleeve to wipe it down.

The sheer sycophancy of it was staggering.

However, the classmates didn’t look down on Pan Gang. Instead, they were rather impressed. ’Look at our class president,’ they thought. ’So perceptive! Only someone who knows when to yield and when to stand firm can achieve great things! We could never learn to do that...’
