Supreme Warrior in the City

”Good fortune?” Ge Kaiyang was taken aback: ”What do you mean by good fortune?”

The Second Elder sighed: ”Ye Sword Saint was noticed by a prominent figure in the Heavenly Realm, even before he reached the Land Immortal Realm, they were keeping an eye on him, waiting until he reached his current realm. His being sent to the Heavenly Realm was actually the intention of that prominent figure, who wants to nurture him. Once there, he won’t be just another pawn like the other Law Enforcers!”

Ge Kaiyang was dumbfounded, never imagining that Ye Sword Saint would have such luck.

”How can this be?” Ge Kaiyang said unwillingly: ”What does Ye Sword Saint have that even a prominent figure in the Heavenly Realm pays attention to him?”

”How would I know!” The Second Elder shrugged, though he too was quite indignant about this. Just before Ye Sword Saint set out, he almost wiped out the four major sects. Their sects harbored deep resentment against Ye Sword Saint.

However, once Ye Sword Saint went to the Heavenly Realm, he received such good treatment. When the Second Elder first learned of this, he was nearly fuming. He repeatedly questioned the Heavenly Court Master, but even the Heavenly Court Master had no say in this matter, as that prominent figure in the Heavenly Realm holds a top position!

The Jade-faced Judge, listening to this, suddenly asked, ”What is the current situation at the Heavenly Court?”

The Second Elder said softly, ”I just talked about the situation in the Heavenly Realm. According to the agreement between the Heavenly Court and Qinghe Academy, every year, the Heavenly Court selects people from the Human World to help in battles in the Heavenly Realm. It has been this way for thousands of years, and the Heavenly Court has always adhered to the rules. However, in recent years, things have been a bit different.”

”How so?” Ge Kaiyang quickly asked.

”The scale of war in the Heavenly Realm has expanded!” The Second Elder replied, ”The Heavenly Realm needs more manpower!”

Ge Kaiyang’s eyes widened: ”So, the Heavenly Realm wants to recruit more people from the Human World?”

”To be precise, the Heavenly Realm wants to recruit those experts accumulated in the Human World over the years, to prepare for the upcoming great war!” The Second Elder stated.

”Expert accumulations in the Human World?” Ge Kaiyang found it difficult to understand.

”Not to mention, how many have been accumulated at Qinghe Academy over the years!” The Second Elder said.

Ge Kaiyang immediately grasped the idea, nodding repeatedly: ”Yes, yes, also the Martial God Altar, Hidden Sword Pavilion, Qianxue Palace, Jade Maiden Peak, Xiantian Sect, Grand Might Dragon Sect, they all have many experts. These people, if we only count their strength, should long ago have become Law Enforcers. But because major sects are not subject to the Heavenly Court’s rules, these people do not participate in the selection of Law Enforcers and remain in the Human World. What the Heavenly Realm wants are these people!”

”Exactly!” The Second Elder nodded: ”That’s precisely the case, the Heavenly Court wants to force these people to the Heavenly Realm, to fight for the Heavenly Realm!”

”So, is the Heavenly Court using the Investiture of the Gods to take all these people away and send them to the Heavenly Realm?” Ge Kaiyang asked.

”Not quite!” The Second Elder shook his head: ”If they were to send these people directly to the Heavenly Realm, they would certainly not submit and would not listen to the Heavenly Realm’s arrangements, let alone work for it. If the Heavenly Realm forces them, there’s a chance they might fight back against the Heavenly Realm, which would cause trouble for it!”

”Their strength, in the Heavenly Realm, is negligible, yet they dare to oppose the Heavenly Realm?” Ge Kaiyang said, unconvinced.

”You don’t know these people’s temperaments; they are the kind that would rather die than submit!” The Second Elder said: ”Any of the other Eight Realms possess frightening power. Crushing the Human World should be no problem. However, when the other Eight Realms attacked the Human World back then, the Human World’s cultivators were unwilling to submit, and many died in battle. Ultimately, they shattered the pathways of the other seven worlds, almost breaking the Heavenly Road. You can imagine the way these people operate. Although the Heavenly Realm is strong, these people will not obey simply because of its might. On the contrary, they would resist to the death, which does not align with the Heavenly Realm’s current objectives!”

Ge Kaiyang thought carefully and agreed that it was indeed so—those at Qinghe Academy, among others, were not afraid of death. If forced, it would only provoke their resistance, ultimately creating trouble for themselves.

”Then what does the Heavenly Court intend to do this time?” Ge Kaiyang asked.

”They have seized almost all the Land Immortals in Huaxia into the Investiture of the Gods, thus making Huaxia vulnerable to chaos, with all sorts of demons and monsters emerging to cause havoc, including overseas cultivators entering Huaxia to wreak havoc!” The Second Elder said: ”People in the Investiture can see what’s happening in Huaxia. The Heavenly Court wants to renegotiate with them. As long as they agree to enter the Heavenly Realm to fight, the Heavenly Court will uphold the old agreement, continue to govern the Human World, and adhere to the rules. Now is the time for these people to make a choice!”

Ge Kaiyang was dumbfounded, finally understanding the situation—it turned out this was the Heavenly Court’s purpose.

”In a nutshell, this entire situation in Huaxia is a deliberate setup by the Heavenly Court!” Ge Kaiyang said.

”Exactly!” The Second Elder nodded slowly: ”Otherwise, why didn’t I stop them when heaven entered Huaxia? It’s because of this reason. The Heavenly Court wants chaos in Huaxia, not peace and order, as that would be meaningless. The more chaotic Huaxia becomes, the more suited it is for the Heavenly Court’s plan. They want to pressure the people of Qinghe Academy to make a decision voluntarily, so once in the Heavenly Realm, they will fight willingly for it!”

Ge Kaiyang and the Jade-faced Judge exchanged glances, finally understanding what the Heavenly Court’s plan was. Both were extremely shocked—who could have imagined that the Heavenly Court did so much, all for this ultimate purpose.

”Then you mentioned earlier that even if you died, neither the ends of the earth nor Lingxiao Pavilion could govern the Human World—what does that mean?” Ge Kaiyang asked.

The Second Elder frowned slightly: ”I made it clear earlier that if Qinghe Academy agrees to go to the Heavenly Realm, the Heavenly Court will return to govern the Human World and maintain the rules. In essence, the Heavenly Court will still be the one governing the Human World, not our four major sects!”

Ge Kaiyang was taken aback, finally realizing the situation.

The four major sects initially sided with the Heavenly Court to take charge of the Human World in its absence. However, it now appears that this dream is unattainable—the Heavenly Court will never relinquish control over the Human World, nor can they replace it in that role!
