Supreme Warrior in the City

However, looking at these two letters, Sect Leader Qi’s anxiety quickly dissipated, replaced by a sense of joy.

He had always been thinking about how to bring Lingxiao Pavilion over to his side to confront the Medicine Sect and Sky Blade Peak together. Unexpectedly, it was an opportunity delivered effortlessly!

Pavilion Lord Ling turned to Sect Leader Qi, and said in a deep voice, ”Sect Leader Qi, I don’t know what your Tianya Haijiao situation is like, but in my Lingxiao Pavilion, I estimate that more than one disciple has been bribed.”

Sect Leader Qi took a deep breath and said in a low voice, ”Pavilion Lord Ling, given the current situation of Tianya Haijiao, do you think we’re faring any better? To be honest, not long ago, we discovered people sent by the Jade-faced Judge to monitor us. Moreover, after the last incident with Su Yang, the Second Elder personally dispatched people to investigate us. He has long since distrusted us!”

Pavilion Lord Ling shook his head helplessly, ”We supported him so much back then, but after getting to this point, he actually suspects us and even bribes our disciples to plant spies to investigate us. It seems the Second Elder genuinely wants to be the sole Heavenly Court Master, aiming to eliminate all of us who once fought the world with him!”

”Not necessarily!” Sect Leader Qi shook his head and said, ”He probably wouldn’t do this to Sky Blade Peak!”

”The Peak Master of Sky Blade already has an excellent relationship with the Second Elder, and the Peak Master of Sky Blade is considered the Second Elder’s most loyal hound. Of course, he doesn’t need to investigate Sky Blade Peak!” Pavilion Lord Ling said angrily.

Listening to Pavilion Lord Ling’s words, Sect Leader Qi couldn’t help but secretly laugh. He didn’t need to persuade anymore; Pavilion Lord Ling might already be thinking of taking action against the Second Elder.

”What can we do then?” Sect Leader Qi said helplessly, ”He is now the master of the four major sects, we have no choice but to obey!”

”Master of the four major sects?” Pavilion Lord Ling said coldly, ”By what right? In terms of strength, wisdom, or contributions to the four major sects, in what aspect is he qualified to be the master of the four major sects? Just because he was the first to connect with the Heavenly Court? Hum, does the Heavenly Court even take him seriously anymore? As long as we, the four major sects, diligently work for the Heavenly Court, any one of us could have a good relationship with the Heavenly Court, all without him as an intermediary?”

”That’s true indeed!” Sect Leader Qi nodded repeatedly, ”The Second Elder is merely a clown. He is narrow-minded and has no tolerance, yet always thinks of gaining power. He even now listens to that Jade-faced Judge completely. What’s the Jade-faced Judge anyway, not even a Land Immortal, yet wants to stand alongside our four major sects—what qualifications does he have? In this time, everything we’ve done was planned by the Jade-faced Judge—how many successes did we have? Each time ended in miserable failure! Yet, he still won’t let us speak and continues to heed the Jade-faced Judge. To be honest, for our four major sects to have fallen to this point, the Jade-faced Judge must take full responsibility!”

”The Jade-faced Judge is merely a clown, no need to pay him any mind!” Pavilion Lord Ling said in a deep voice, ”The most critical thing now is that the Second Elder has already started targeting us, and we can no longer pretend not to know. Sect Leader Qi, time is not on our side!”

These words stirred Sect Leader Qi, who took a deep breath, looked directly at Pavilion Lord Ling, and said in a low voice, ”Pavilion Lord Ling, is your intention...”

”If these two letters were sent to the Second Elder’s place, neither of our sects would have a good end!” Pavilion Lord Ling said softly, ”You should be very clear about the means by which the Second Elder conducts matters!”

Sect Leader Qi slowly nodded, and Pavilion Lord Ling softly continued, ”Therefore, it’s best for us to strike first!”

A gleam instantly flashed in Sect Leader Qi’s eyes as he excitedly looked at Pavilion Lord Ling, ”Are you saying we kill the Second Elder and take over the four major sects?”

Pavilion Lord Ling didn’t answer his question but instead said softly, ”The Peak Master of Sky Blade is not around, and there aren’t many experts from Sky Blade Peak and Medicine Sect on their side. The Jade-faced Judge is bedridden, with insufficient strength. This is the best opportunity!”

Ecstasy spread over Sect Leader Qi’s face as he straightened up and said excitedly, ”Pavilion Lord Ling, tell me how to do it, and I’ll follow your lead. After this affair, I’ll nominate you as the new master of the four major sects!”

Pavilion Lord Ling chuckled, ”Sect Leader Qi, neither of us needs to become the master of the four major sects. Just remember that our two sects, no matter when, must fight side by side. Otherwise, we’ll be defeated and swallowed by others, and all efforts will be wasted. That will suffice!”

”Of course!” Sect Leader Qi immediately said, ”Pavilion Lord Ling, let’s set a life-and-death oath. If violated, let heaven strike us with thunder!”

”Alright!” Pavilion Lord Ling nodded solemnly. At this time, this ally is the most important. If bound by such an oath, he would feel much more at ease.

Both took out items, pricked their index fingers, and swore a blood oath. Furthermore, they intertwined part of their power, making it a life-and-death oath of the Land Immortals. Once the oath is violated, they would be countered by power, struck by thunder, and slain by the power of heaven and earth – truly terrifying!

With such an oath, both felt much more at ease. From this moment onward, they no longer had to worry about betrayal from one another.

”There’s no time to lose. We need to prepare our men immediately and ensure that the Second Elder doesn’t get away!” Sect Leader Qi said excitedly. He had wanted to do this for a long time, just that the opportunity arrived sooner than expected.

”Alright!” Pavilion Lord Ling nodded, ”I’m ready on my end; we can act at any time!”

”No problem!” Sect Leader Qi immediately walked to the door, ”I will be right back!”

Sect Leader Qi quickly returned to the Tianya Haijiao area, summoned the skilled figures within their ranks, and then sent a message to Pavilion Lord Ling, informing them to prepare for action.

Pavilion Lord Ling had long been adequately prepared, and upon receiving the message, they set off immediately, heading straight for the estate where the Second Elder was located.

Soon, the people of the two major sects arrived outside the estate belonging to the Second Elder. They surrounded the estate, preventing anyone from escaping. Subsequently, Sect Leader Qi and Pavilion Lord Ling, leading the experts within their sects, directly charged into the estate.

As soon as they entered, they alerted those in the estate, and several individuals quickly flew out. Upon seeing them, these individuals breathed a sigh of relief. The leader smiled and said, ”Sect Leader Qi, Pavilion Lord Ling, it’s you. What’s the matter? Do you need us to inform the Second Elder?”

”Certainly!” Sect Leader Qi said with a forced smile.

These people didn’t know what had happened and genuinely sent someone inside to inform. Meanwhile, the other people, observing the individuals from the two major sects approaching them, remained clueless about what was occurring.

The people from the two major sects acted quickly, subdued these individuals, and proceeded to lead them towards the inner chambers.
