Supreme Warrior in the City

Su Yang nodded in response. Lv Donglin stepped forward, stood at the entrance of the Zhang Family home, looked at Zhang Congwen, and said loudly, ”Zhang Congwen, I am here today not to seek revenge against your Zhang Family. I am here just to tell you all that I can forget the grievances with Zhang Lao San. However, your Zhang Family must listen clearly, my uncle’s life’s learning has nothing to do with your Zhang Family. If you continue to say that my uncle stole the Martial Champion’s skills, even if I turn into a vengeful ghost, I will never forgive you!”

Su Yang was stunned, so this was the root of Lv Donglin’s resentment. For years, Beigong War God had been carrying a bad reputation; people said Beigong Yan stole the Martial Champion’s Secret Technique and taught it to Beigong War God, which led to his current accomplishments. So, when people looked at Beigong War God, they held disdain.

And Lv Donglin causing all this trouble, seeking revenge against Zhang Lao San, was one thing; another was to use his strength to prove that everything they learned did not come from the Martial Champion!

However, now that Beigong War God is no more, Lv Donglin felt disheartened. All the hatred, all the grievances, he let go. But he couldn’t let his uncle, Beigong War God, die carrying such a reputation, so he did this one last thing!

Zhang Congwen’s complexion was somber, he said softly, ”Mr. Lv, we know about these matters. My father said long ago, over twenty years past, that Beigong’s path is entirely different from our Zhang Family, and it was impossible for him to steal from us. So regarding this matter, there is no need for you to say it; we naturally understand!”

”Since you knew, why didn’t you speak up sooner!” Lv Donglin said angrily, ”You let my uncle bear twenty years of infamy, what were your intentions?”

Zhang Congwen sighed and said softly, ”This is also my father’s intention. He chose not to speak to encourage Mr. Beigong. Mr. Beigong had outstanding talent, his cultivation path truly limitless. However, after Mr. Beigong avenged himself back then, he lost his fighting spirit, unable to continue cultivating. My father did not announce this matter outside to give Mr. Beigong some motivation so he would cultivate with purpose. Otherwise, Mr. Beigong might have stagnated long ago, unable to progress an inch!”

Lv Donglin was dumbfounded for a while before angrily saying, ”Nonsense, according to you, should we even thank you? You let my uncle bear infamy for so many years, and now a single sentence, we even have to thank you?”

Zhang Congwen was slightly embarrassed, lightly sighed, ”It is not about gratitude, indeed, we are at fault to Mr. Beigong, Congwen apologizes here and now!”

Having said that, Zhang Congwen slowly bowed deeply, and softly said, ”The Zhang Family is now in seclusion, some matters are inconvenient to handle. When we reopen the gates of the Zhang Family, we will inform the world, clear Mr. Beigong’s name, and also apologize to Mr. Beigong before the world!”

The expression on Lv Donglin’s face finally relaxed somewhat, he looked coldly at Zhang Congwen, and said solemnly, ”I hope you remember what you have said, also, tell your family members. If anyone uses this matter to insult my uncle in the future, I will not be polite!”

”Of course!” Zhang Congwen nodded, ”Mr. Lv, I will definitely restrain the Zhang Family members!”

”That’s good!” Lv Donglin coldly left a sentence behind, turned around angrily and left, not lingering at all.

Zhang Congwen watched Lv Donglin’s back, opened his mouth but eventually remained silent.

Su Yang stood there, looked at Zhang Congwen, and sighed lightly, ”With the Zhang Family shutting their doors, will the situation in the world not change? Esteemed elder, the Four Major Sects have already destroyed the Buddha Palace and killed Beigong War God, how far off is the Zhang Family’s turn?”

Zhang Congwen looked seriously at Su Yang, and said in a soft voice, ”Thank you, Su Alliance Leader, for the reminder; however, the Zhang Family has its own plans in doing things!”

Su Yang sighed and said no more, turned around, and left with Lv Donglin. As to the Zhang Family, which was like a turtle hiding its head, Su Yang really did not know what to say.

The Zhang Family had such powerful strength; if the Martial Champion was willing to intervene, they would have a chance even against the Four Major Sects. But the Zhang Family chose to hide, leaving Su Yang speechless.

No wonder Black Widow repeatedly said not to have any hope for the Zhang Family. Such a family could never provide any hope!

After leaving the Zhang Family, Lv Donglin headed directly north.

Su Yang followed behind Lv Donglin, and after traveling for half a day, Su Yang finally realized that Lv Donglin’s destination was Yan Gui City to the north. That was the city where Beigong War God had resided and where he died in battle.

Without a doubt, Lv Donglin intended to go back and retrieve Beigong War God’s remains.

However, Su Yang felt uneasy.

The Four Major Sects killed Beigong War God and spread the news across the world, with another goal surely being to lure them into the open. If the two went to Yan Gui City rashly now, there might be a massive ambush from the Four Major Sects. Appearing like this, they would certainly fall into the ambush of the Four Major Sects, and that would be very dangerous indeed.

”Brother Lv!” Su Yang hurriedly stopped Lv Donglin, ”We cannot go to Yan Gui City!”

Lv Donglin glanced at Su Yang and said softly, ”My uncle died in battle; if I don’t go to retrieve his body, should I let his bones remain on the roadside?”

”I understand your intention, but who knows how many ambushes the Four Major Sects have set up there. Us rushing in like this would undoubtedly fall into their trap,” Su Yang said solemnly. ”Mr. Beigong laid down his life to get you out. If you go back to die like this, how can Mr. Beigong rest in peace?”

Lv Donglin was silent, Su Yang’s words were irrefutable.

”We certainly need to retrieve Mr. Beigong’s remains, but this matter requires careful planning,” Su Yang said. ”I have some ways to safely return and act, and we can even deal with some of the Four Major Sects in the process. How about we wait a little longer, I’ll lure those people away, and then we can go back to retrieve your uncle’s body, how does that sound?”

Lv Donglin was silent for a while before nodding slowly. Although he wanted to return to Yan Gui City, he also knew that going back now was indeed very dangerous!

Seeing Lv Donglin nod, Su Yang breathed a sigh of relief. He was worried that, in his grief, Lv Donglin would be solely focused on returning to Yan Gui City. That would be troublesome, and Su Yang would likely have to knock him out and throw him into the World Melting Furnace if that were the case.

Otherwise, Su Yang really did not know how to stop him!

”If that’s the case, let’s find a place to rest first,” Su Yang said. ”I need to get some information about the current situation and arrange the next steps.”
