Supreme Warrior in the City

”Is it possible to find Lin Yi and ask him directly? Wouldn’t that solve the mystery?” The Sect Leader asked with a smile, the deeper the investigation went, the less chance the second elder had of evading responsibility.

The second elder also showed anger on his face and said in a deep voice, ”Fine, let’s find him and confront him. No, bring more people over, let him identify who is Lin Yi himself. Who knows if he might accuse Lin Yi falsely?”

”Alright!” The Pavilion Master calmly nodded, waved his hand, and people beside him went out to handle this matter.

Soon, those who went out brought back five people.

The Sect Leader glanced at them. Lin Yi was among the five, but he wasn’t conspicuous. This meant that Li Yuan had to identify Lin Yi now. If Li Yuan couldn’t pick out Lin Yi, there wouldn’t be a need for further investigation.

”Li Yuan, now take a look and see which of them is the person who connected with you!” The Pavilion Master said sternly.

Li Yuan trembled as he stood up, glanced at the five, and finally set his eyes on Lin Yi: ”It’s him!”

The second elder’s eyes widened, while the Sect Leader burst into laughter: ”Second elder, have nothing else to say now?”

The second elder was dumbfounded for a moment, gritting his teeth: ”He only identified Lin Yi, it doesn’t mean Lin Yi did it. Who knows if he might have seen Lin Yi sometime, or perhaps just seen a photo of Lin Yi, and that’s why he identified him. How does that prove anything?”

”You really won’t shed tears until you see the coffin!” The Pavilion Master coldly said: ”Lin Yi, tell me what’s going on here?”

Lin Yi looked utterly confused: ”What... what matter? I don’t know anything...”

”See, as I said, it has nothing to do with us, someone is deliberately framing us!” The second elder shouted: ”Perhaps it’s Sky Edge doing this, the Sect Leader is very dissatisfied with me investigating him, and has long wanted to rebel. However, them alone aren’t powerful enough, so they used such a plot to deceive you. Pavilion Master, don’t be fooled by them!”

The Sect Leader’s face turned pale, and he angrily shouted: ”Second elder, don’t spew blood!”

”I’m spewing blood? You accused me with such matters, aren’t you spreading lies too?” The second elder angrily said: ”You really think we’re all idiots, that you can play us as you wish? I’m telling you, that’s impossible, the Pavilion Master isn’t a fool, won’t be tricked by such a despicable scheme!”

”You...” The Sect Leader wanted to speak, but then the Pavilion Master interrupted.

”Lin Yi, tell the truth, and I might let you go!” The Pavilion Master said coldly: ”I only intend to kill the second elder, but if you are willing to join me, I can make you the new leader of the Medicine Sect. Furthermore, if you think we have no evidence, and I find out myself, it won’t be just a simple matter of killing you!”

Lin Yi’s expression suddenly became complex, seemingly hesitating over something.

The second elder saw this, feeling anxious, shouted: ”Lin Yi, what are you hesitating for? Just tell him, this has nothing to do with us, what do you have to worry about?”

Lin Yi looked embarrassed, gritted his teeth, and softly said: ”I... I confess, indeed it was me who did it, I was the one who connected with Li Yuan...”

As soon as these words were spoken, the audience was in uproar, and the second elder nearly went mad, jumping up and shouting: ”Lin Yi, you are crazy? What are you saying?”

”Sorry, elder brother, I can no longer bear the torment of my conscience!” Lin Yi looked at the second elder and sighed: ”Sky Edge and Lingxiao Pavilion have always fully supported us, but to solidify your governance, you used such means against him, I... I couldn’t stand watching it anymore. You made me bribe people from Lingxiao Pavilion and Sky Edge, asking them to investigate their dark histories, framing them in various ways. Even last time, you got me to bribe Sky Edge’s people, and secretly put Su Yang into Sky Edge’s dungeon to frame Sky Edge...”

”What!?” The Sect Leader jumped up and shouted: ”You did this too!?”

Lin Yi was startled, trembling and unable to speak.

”Lin Yi, you don’t need to be afraid!” The Pavilion Master said: ”We all know that this was masterminded by the second elder, unrelated to you. By telling the truth, it’s as if you’ve redeemed yourself!”

The Sect Leader also knew his reaction was overly intense and hurriedly said: ”Indeed, Lin Yi, by saying these things, it’s as though you’re standing with us, we will certainly protect you!”

”What to say? What to say?” The second elder shouted angrily: ”This is sheer deception, it’s all lies he made up, has nothing to do with me, making him say what? Do you all just love hearing people lie?”

”Shut up!” The Sect Leader shouted angrily: ”I long suspected Su Yang’s affair was peculiar, if there wasn’t an insider, how could such a thing occur. Turns out, it was indeed you who did it. Second elder, you are truly despicable, resorting to any means to deal with us. Do you realize, your actions allowed Su Yang to live longer and even caused a commotion about Paradise, effectively pushing the four major sects to a dead-end. For your personal gain, you dare commit such actions, do you even count as human?”

”That wasn’t me...” The second elder panicked.

”Shut up!” The Sect Leader couldn’t hold back anymore and slapped the second elder’s face, forcing him back several steps.

Actually, the second elder’s power wasn’t much weaker than the Sect Leader’s, but at this moment, the second elder was extremely anxious, with so many people around filled with killing intent staring at him, he dared not resist, and could only passively take the slap.

”Lin Yi, keep talking!” The Pavilion Master said sternly.

Lin Yi took a deep breath and softly said: ”He made me do many things, mainly targeting your two sects. He constantly said he needed to strengthen the forces supporting him and weaken the ones that might divide his power. This way, he could firmly govern. And that’s exactly what he’s been doing, intentionally elevating people from Sky Blade Peak and Jade-faced Judge, while suppressing you, which is his usual method. However, he couldn’t act directly himself, so these things were all carried out with me as his front. Those I bribed still don’t know, the real one bribing them was actually my brother, not me!”

The Pavilion Master’s face turned icy, and he sternly asked: ”Second elder, do you have anything to say now?”
