Unlimited Top-ups, the Most Lavish Pay-to-win Live Streams Ever

19: Ranked 7th in combat power in Chapter 19, PegasusPegasus. Seventh on the Combat Power leaderboard, the peak representative among ’otherworld’ pay-to-win players.

Recently, he had spent almost his entire day immersed in a certain livestream, completely addicted.

”2 seconds of stun plus 1 second of invincibility—this is already at a cheat-level effect, right? To actually slam a +10 enhancement onto a beginner weapon, this isn’t being soft-hearted, it’s going hard—truly impressive.”

”No-damage clear? I’m afraid that was the goal from the very beginning, right? Although still a newbie, that operational awareness... is definitely not simple. It’s normal that he can’t compare to Leonhardt, but placed within the entire gaming circle, it’s solidly at a top-tier level.”

”The speedrun record was directly shattered to over four times the original record; that arrogant face of Leonhardt’s, which could reach the sky, probably can’t keep its composure this time. If I knew where he was, I’d rush over to mock him right now.”

”A title effect with 2.2 times attribute and growth speed bonuses? Is this reasonable? That brat Leonhardt is actually holding onto such a god-tier title while pretending to be low-key and developing slowly? So the secret to his abnormal growth was all hidden here?”

”Burning thirty million in a day to grind monsters, is his family running a bank? Could he actually be richer than me?”

”Hidden class ’Enhancement Master’... Why didn’t this damn luck hit me instead? Trash probability game.”

”At least he rushed to level 100 in a day. If I had known there was an exclusive monster-grinding area back then, I would have taken advantage of it and taken off early; what a huge loss.”

The vague curiosity about the holder of the +10 beginner weapon, combined with the subconscious deep-seated competitive consciousness toward Leonhardt, caused Pegasus to start continuously following Fu Hao’s livestream.

What was originally just curious spectating gradually evolved into a daily obsession, and he sank deeper and deeper step by step.

Until the fourth day.

As soon as Fu Hao’s livestream started, the title caught his eye.

Pegasus swept over it subconsciously, but instantly, his entire body froze—

[A desperate gamble for a Mythical Rank Summoned Beast: Let’s start with 7777 draws to test the waters]

”Summoned Beast gacha... A Mythical Rank desperate gamble?”

At that moment, his spine felt as if it had been drenched in cold water, and a vaguely painful memory surged up from the bottom of his heart.

Summoned Beast gacha—this term was a taboo he avoided talking about in both reality and the virtual world; it was the ultimate nightmare he could never let go of.

Although he failed to push his enhancement to +10, Pegasus had once poured in hundreds of millions in funds, using a set of +9 and +8 enhanced equipment to force his way into the top ten of the combat power leaderboard, confidently self-proclaiming as the ’Strongest Enhancement Player’.

Even though the title of ’Strongest Enhancement’ was later snatched away by Fu Hao, he never regretted it.

After all, the returns from enhancement were tangible and steadily increasing, and he could afford to invest and enjoy it.

But Summoned Beast gacha... that was a different story.

That wasn’t a growth path, but a synonym for nightmare.

It wasn’t that he hadn’t done his homework; he had long known that the efficiency of Summoned Beast gacha was extremely low.

But at the time, he was full of disdain: ”Low efficiency? If I drop fifty million, I should at least get a Legendary Rank, right? If my luck is a bit better, maybe I can even fight for a Mythical one.”

Looking at those ’fake pay-to-win players’ who would drop tens or hundreds of thousands to pull a Heroic Rank Summoned Beast and then couldn’t wait to show it off, he scoffed.

A true top-tier player like him naturally only deserved a Legendary Rank Summoned Beast.

Even if its practical combat use was questionable, just showing it off was worth the price of admission.

So he decisively dropped fifty million, then two hundred million, and in the end, lost everything—he didn’t even see a single Legendary Rank.

Two hundred million down the drain—such a heavy blow was hard to let go of, even for him, who threw money around like dirt in reality.

From then on, Summoned Beast gacha became an unspeakable inner demon.

”He actually dares to pull for a Summoned Beast? Does he know how low these odds are?”

Fifty million for a Legendary Rank—this theoretical probability was a huge temptation for top-tier pay-to-win players like Pegasus and Fu Hao.

But unfortunately, the cruelest part of this mechanism was the uncertainty—most people luckily assumed they wouldn’t be that unlucky, that they could at least hit the ’average’.

Pegasus was the same.

When he dropped one hundred million, he was still comforting himself: ”The next one will definitely be it.”

It wasn’t until he burned through two hundred million without seeing even a Legendary Rank that he finally woke up from the bubble of hope.

”You couldn’t even pull a Legendary Rank with two hundred million, and you still want to pull a Mythical Rank? Hahahaha...”

Recalling that painful experience, Pegasus laughed, but couldn’t help but worry: What if Fu Hao actually pulled a Mythical Rank?

If he himself had tossed two hundred million down the drain, but the other party managed a comeback with less money, that might just give the 30-year-old him a heart attack on the spot.

To alleviate his anxiety, he quickly initiated a seemingly absurd task filled with psychological suggestion:

”If you pull a Mythical Rank, I’ll gift you five hundred thousand.”

He knew in his heart that such a thing was impossible.

But even if he couldn’t change the gacha mechanism, he wanted to use this method to forcibly create a sense of psychological security for himself that ’a Mythical Rank will never appear’.

Guild members saw this and tried to dissuade him:

”Guild Leader, why are you suddenly doing this?”

”Brother, have you gone crazy? Throwing five hundred thousand into the water is better spent on the guild!”

Pegasus was surprisingly calm, his tone carrying a nearly paranoid certainty: ”You don’t actually think he can pull a Mythical Rank, do you? I couldn’t even pull a Legendary Rank with two hundred million.”

These words were like a spell, instantly suppressing the noise in the guild channel.

After a few seconds of silence, everyone chimed in: ”Impossible! Guild Leader, you’re being too cautious; that guy Fu Hao might not even be able to pull a Legendary Rank.”

The livestream officially began.

The first two rounds of ten-pulls were unremarkable, without a ripple.

Until the third round, the dimensional gate suddenly vibrated violently.

”So fast?”

”It must be Heroic Rank, and the weakest kind at that.”

The next moment, purple light burst forth, and a hero soul leaped out—sure enough, it was a Heroic Rank Summoned Beast.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

”See, Guild Leader, what did I say?”

However, the heart that had just settled suddenly hung in the air again.

The dimensional gate vibrated again, and even stronger and more frequently than the previous time.

Pegasus subconsciously closed his eyes and clasped his hands together, not to pray for a hit, but whispering:

”I beg you... Heroic Rank... It must be Heroic Rank...”

The purple light lit up again.

He let out a heavy sigh of relief.

—Fortunately, it was still purple light.
