Chapter 711: A King Who Forgot to Breathe

A King Who Forgot to Breathe

A faint breath of amusement escaped him. ”I am composed.”

”Liar.”

She kissed him slowly.

Carefully.

She took her time. Not driven by want. Each motion intentional - as if tracing his lips would stay with her forever. Yet her hand pushed against his chest, a quiet demand for certainty, as though counting his pulse could slow the rush inside her.

A shiver ran through her fingers, barely noticeable. It showed without needing words. Something inside wavered, just for a second. Stillness followed, but not quite empty.

It began with a whisper - ”Sona...” His voice barely broke the silence.

Her voice barely rose above a breath, brushing his mouth as she spoke. Backward she moved, just in time - before her resolve gave way.

A pause, just a flicker, then she gave herself a push ahead.

”Go,” Mia whispered with a small smile. ”You’ll regret it if you don’t.”

Cassidy glanced over, uneasy. Not so simple when it’s your skin on the line

”It isn’t,” Mia replied softly. ”But go.”

Into his space she stepped, chest rising too fast. Eyes lifted, heavy with words that could burn. One second hung between them, thick as smoke. Stillness took hold - her body quiet, voice gone.

”You don’t have to - ” he began.

Funny how the words just came out, she thought, stopping him mid-sentence.

A quiet start - then Cassidy’s lips moved closer. Shoulders under her fingers shook, yet she stayed. Not fear now, just breath catching fire. She stepped aside last, face warm, gaze dropped low.

Mia came behind, quieter yet sharp. Not a pause marked her steps. Eyes fixed on him, as if stepping into a role already hers by right.

You think too much about every little thing, she whispered.

”Not everything.”

”Almost.”

Fingers pressed hard into his chin. Lips moved slow, meant every second. Nothing gentle about it. No hurry either. Solid, just like she always was. The space between them closed again, heads touching - just a breath held there.

”Don’t disappear into your own head,” she murmured.

”I won’t.”

Nova approached next.

She didn’t rush.

A hush settled as she stepped forward, space seeming to shift in her wake. Her fingers lifted beneath his jaw, guiding his gaze where she wanted it.

”Still try to be tough?” she asked softly.

”Always,” he replied.

Her lips curved faintly. ”You don’t have to be. Not here.”

”Habit.”

”Break it.”

She kissed him with a slow confidence that made Syra roll her eyes in playful annoyance.

”Oh please,” Syra muttered. ”She thinks she’s so smooth.”

Nova didn’t even look at her. ”I am.”

A small ripple of laughter broke the tension.

Natasha stepped in next, brushing her fingers along his collar before leaning in. ”You’re handling this better than I expected,” she whispered against his lips.

”Told you,” he answered quietly.

Tsubaki followed, posture straight even now. She paused, studying him like she was assessing a battlefield.

”You’re steady,” she said.

”I try.”

”Good.”

Her kiss was brief but firm—disciplined, but not cold. When she stepped away, there was a faint softness in her eyes she didn’t bother hiding.

Aria came forward with her usual grace, fingertips tracing lightly along his shoulder before she leaned in. ”You know,” she said lightly, ”if this goes to your head, I’ll personally bring you back down.”

He smirked faintly. ”I’d expect nothing less.”

Her kiss was warm, teasing at the edges, her presence leaving a faint shimmer of perfume and confidence behind.

Mia stepped back into place, watching quietly now.

Lira approached more slowly than the others. There was something unreadable in her expression, something deeper beneath the surface calm.

”You’re quiet,” he said.

”I’m thinking,” she replied.

”Dangerous.”

”For you, maybe.”

Her kiss wasn’t bold or shy—it was intimate. A brush of lips that lingered just long enough to say more than words could. When she stepped away, she didn’t look embarrassed or playful.

She looked certain.

Natasha, Tsubaki, Aria, mia, lira—one after another gain and again, they learned in. Some kissed his lips. Some pressed kisses along his jaw, his neck, his temple.

He fell back against the couch under the storm of affection.

A king reduced to a breathless man beneath a circle of women who refused to let him rest.

When he tried to breathe—

Another kiss stole it.

And another.

And another.

Laughter tangled with heated whispers, soft gasps brushing against his skin.

The air thickened.

This wasn’t teasing anymore.

It was territorial. Intimate. Claimed.

Fingers tugging at his shirt’s edge, Natasha dipped closer, a whisper of breath meeting skin just beside his lips, then drifting along his jaw. Her voice came low when she spoke - something about him being too calm before now, like balance needed upsetting

Out of nowhere, Tsubaki caught him off guard - her fingers tightening under his jaw before pressing her lips to his with quiet force. She trembled slightly as she drew back, voice low but clear. Her words hung between them like something long held in check finally set free

A soft laugh slipped out as Aria’s calm melted into something warmer, her violet gaze flickering like embers. Beneath us too, she murmured, brushing her mouth against his temple.

Mia paused, just for a breath - shyness clinging like smoke - yet tilted forward anyway, pressing a swift kiss to his lips before burying her warm cheeks into the curve of his shoulder. ”It was you,” she mumbled, voice soft but sure

Fingers like a winter breeze skimmed the edge of his face, then her lips found the tender place beneath his ear. Her voice slipped low - ”We have measured years while you counted minutes.”.

A puff of breath escaped his lips, then he settled further down where the soft padding held him like a quiet promise. The heat curled close on all sides.

He gasped, fingers moving across Rias’s side. The breath came slow, thin, like thread pulled through silence.

”Hey... my wild queens of hell,” he puffed, laughter tangled in his words. Give me a second to catch air.

A slow grin spread across Rias’s face as she looked at him, locks of red tumbling past one shoulder like flames caught mid-fall. Air mattering now, after daring what you just did?

Suddenly bending across the couch cushions, Syra’s gaze flicked up, sharp and bright. Her voice slipped through the air - quiet, teasing - as if secrets had weight

”That doesn’t mean I stop breathing.”

A soft laugh stirred once more, softer than before, yet the tightness between them held steady. Fingers stayed where they were, resting without moving. Shoulders remained near, almost touching but not quite.

A flicker crossed Leon’s face, playfulness fading as he raised one hand a little.

He paused, then added quietly - so they moved closer to listen - ”remember, this isn’t the bedroom.”

A hush settled between them. The air hung still for just one breath.

A slight lean brought his face closer to the broad openings of the hallway. The stone frames rose tall on either side, silent under the slanting light. One foot ahead of the other, he paused just before stepping through.

”This is the main hall. Half the estate staff probably heard your high-pitched laughter echoing through the corridors.”

Tsubaki stiffened first. ”What?”

Mia’s eyes widened instantly. ”T-They heard us?”
