Chapter 226: Kisses That Burn Through Silence

Kisses That Burn Through Silence

”Mnnhh...”

The gentle sound flowed from her lips as his lips took hers again. Sona groaned against him, her hips moving under his body, returning the kiss with a desire no longer shy.

Since the first time he’d kissed her in the moonlit garden through this moment, Leon had lost track of how many times his lips had met hers—and yet, somehow, it wasn’t ever quite enough. Her cherry-soft mouth was maddeningly sweet, her taste reminiscent of the first forbidden fruit he would never let go of. He had no idea how he’d survived before this—without her kiss, her flavor, or her heat. Now, he kissed her like a famished man, hell-bent on reclaiming every minute they’d sacrificed to duty and quiet. His fingers plunged into her silver-white hair, curling up through the silky locks with reverence.

On the other end of that kiss, Sona’s mind went whirling in blissful chaos. Each touch of his tongue sent her whole body shivering, her heart thudding harder.

This is madness, she tried telling herself, her face burning. But I don’t care. Not if it’s from my husband... Leon.

The realization came over her like a tidal wave. And with it, her self-control was gone. Her kiss intensified. She drew him in closer, invested everything in that touch—the years of wanting, the quiet pain of aloneness, the love she could no longer deny. She kissed him not only as a woman who loved, but as a wife who had at last accepted the truth within herself.

She blended into him, giving herself over utterly, heart open wide.

His lips formed a path across her own with increasing passion—slow at the beginning, gentle and questing, then hungrier and more demanding. Each kiss was bolder, a step further in on their common want. Her spine curved upwards to meet him, her moans low but unshackled, swallowed in the inferno of his mouth. Their tongues touched again, no longer shy, but with a teasing cadence that sent warmth cascading through her veins.

”Ahh...”

The noise slid between their muddled breaths as their mouths pressed once more, deeper, harder. His kiss flooded her like water poured into a jug—tentatively, painstakingly, completely engrossing. She reacted reflexively, her body coming up to meet his touch, her moans more insistent, threaded with desire.

The space itself hummed around them. Curtains danced with the night’s cool breeze. The chandelier’s enchanted floating orbs gave a soft, golden glow to their bodies, shimmering like candlelight on flushed skin. The rest of the world disappeared beyond walls. Their breath, moans, the quiet rustling of bed sheets under them—these and these alone resonated in the hush, weaving a symphony of desire that was theirs and theirs alone.

Sona stretched up, her fingers twisting tightly into his hair, tugging on him with a hunger that seared through every cell of her body. Her other hand traced the muscles of his back—moving, seizing, shuddering—as if she sought to drag him into her own soul.

Leon wasn’t standing either. His caress was a veneration, a blaze, an extended thirst at last unleashed. His fingers charted the shape of her form as if it were holy text. One drifted over the curve of her waist, then stopped to rest on her hips, engulfing them with a firm press that coaxed a gasp from his mouth, devoured instantly by his lips.

The room contracted in on them. Air was heavy with the smell of honeyed firewood and the fragrance of lavender from the linens, tinged underneath with the heavier, more personal scent of her jasmine oil. Cloth moved—velvet, silk, the rustle of moving limbs. The soft thump of Leon’s boots walking closer pounded against the floor. Her dress slid as she leaned back into the bed’s hold, burrowing deeper into its depths.

A shiver ran through her, not from cold—but from the storm building inside her. Blood thundered in her veins like hot lava. Her fingers danced along his collarbone, reluctant yet ravenous, needing more.

Leon hesitated—only for an instant—then set his lips to hers once more. The kiss this time was deliberate, slow. Lips kissed with intent. Sona dissolved, her breathing suspended in her throat.

”Again...” she breathed, her voice syrup-thick, quivering at the edges.

And then the restraint broke.

Heat broke between them like a dam bursting. They mouthed each other wildly, tongues tangling, lips colliding in a kiss that burned away years lost. Sona reacted as if she was made for this—since each second of her life had been toward his arms. Her hands wrapped his hair harder, needing to hold on to him, even as her body pushed forward, craving more.

Their changing weight creaked the bed, soft and rhythmic, as if imitating the fire between them. The hearth flames danced wildly, creating golden shadows on her white skin and his dark form. To her eyes, the fire and the stars commingled in one—blinding and lovely.

They kissed without hesitation or restraint, discovering the contours of each other’s need with every tongue flirt, every angle of their lips. Sona moaned—a low, sloppy noise of unadulterated pleasure—and Leon countered with a low, rasping grunt, muffled against her lips.

He drew back slightly, just enough to draw air, eyes fixed on hers, his look burning. His chest roared, and she felt every beat resonate between them.

Leon,” she panted, voice trembling. ”Your smell. it intoxicates me.”

A low, warm rumble of a laugh came from his chest. He leaned in and brushed his lips over hers once more. ”Then get drunk with me, Sona.”

He kissed her once more, this time deeper, wetter, pulling her down into him.

His hand slipped under the sheer drapery of her gown, his fingers tracing up her ribcage with torturous slowness. When his palm curved under her breast, she gasped into his mouth, her back automatically arcing toward him, her legs clenching tighter around his hips. Each inch of touch ignited her further.

Their bodies were still dressed, but the silk that separated them could have been air. She sensed the warmth of his palm against her clothing, the grip he had on her, firm and unyielding. And when his thumb caressed her taut peak, she groaned, hips jerking wildly in reaction.

He growled low in his throat, enjoying the manner in which she responded to his touch. His thumb teased once more, rolling over the top of her breast through silk, producing a harsh whimper from her throat.

Sona’s thoughts were gone—disintegrating into sparks of pleasure and heat. Her mind attempted to construct words, but they dispersed like leaves blown by wind. She only managed to register him: the weight of his body, the warmth of his mouth, the manner in which his hands shook her with every touch.

Leon’s lips followed the curve of her jawline, tracing the curve of beauty until they came to the tender hollow of her throat. He stayed there, kissing her gently, time and again—each touch slower, deeper, drawing out breathless, helpless gasps from her shuddering body.

His hand eased with worshipful slowness, fingers moving beneath the fold of her gown. The silk stuck to her thighs, silky under his palm as he stroked upwards. Sona’s breath caught the instant he touched skin—her body reacting with a savage shiver as her hips curved, craving more.

”Leon...” she gasped out, her voice no more than a shattered whisper, breathless and hungry.

He leaned in, his lips brushing against her jaw again before moving down to her throat—licking the soft dip with maddening accuracy. Her moan escaped—raw, hungry.

Then his hand came up, cradling her breast through the clothing. The touch had her spilling into him with a whine, her gown a mere scratch between them now.

”Do you trust me?” he asked, his voice a low rumble against her ear.

Sona’s eyelids fluttered closed. Her lips quivered.

”Always,” she whispered.

Leon kissed her once more—this time deeper, with a great hunger. His body moved, pressing down against hers, warmth pooling between their bodies pressed together. Skin rubbed against skin, the clothing slipping farther back from where it used to hug.

Her dress had already started slipping down from her shoulders, exposing her smooth skin to the chilly air. He planted a slow kiss at the join of her neck and shoulder, his lips caressing her flushed skin.

She breathed softly, ”Mnhh...”

”Not enough I thought,” she whispered between ragged breaths, her voice shaking between kisses, heavy with desire and self-control. ”Can we begin.?”

Leon paused for a moment, golden eyes fixed on hers—searching, holding. His lips curled into a slow, wicked smile.

”My Queen looks... a little overwhelmed tonight,” he teased, voice playful but laced with something darker. His thumb caressed her cheek, catching the flush blooming there. ”I suppose I’ll have to fix that.”

She pulled away slightly, her cheeks burning with a deep blush. ”Stop teasing...”

Leon bent and planted a gentle, lingering kiss on her forehead. ”Okay. Let me help you take it all,” he breathed, voice velvety-soft.

His eyebrow winged up, a twinkle of humor in his eyes. ”Then let me help you take it all,” he replied, every word stroking over her like velvet. His tone was smooth, sultry—suffused with intimate promise.

She flushed a richer red. Her voice softened to a whisper.

”Make me yours,” she whispered. ”Completely.”

Leon’s hand swept up to her face, holding her features, eyes locked on hers with a raw intensity. ”You don’t have to say anything,” he whispered. ”Your body’s already telling me everything I need to know.

Slowly, he urged her to her knees on the bed. The mattress creaked beneath their movement, the quiet broken only by the hiss of their shallow breathing and the soft sound of silk. He leaned forward, his fingers reaching for the gap in her gown, parting it slowly, to reveal the clean, sleek line of her thigh.

As his mouth came back to the rise of her neck, his hand slid down, caressing along her thigh. The sensation was maddening—soft, slow. Her muscle contracted under his palm, the feeling too much and not enough all at once.

”Ahh... Leon...” Sona’s voice broke, her spine curving as the heat of his hand crept upward.

He traced slow circles across her inner thigh, fingers firm but gentle—building the tension, dragging her deeper into his touch.

She was already trembling.

His fingers finally found her center—hot, slick, aching. He growled against her neck, the sound low and feral.

”Sona...” he rasped, his voice dark with desire. ”You’re already soaked for me.”

His eyes blazed with ravenous fire, and still he spoke it with luscious teasing, as if he was enjoying the moment as much as the blow to her defenses.

Her breath hitched, but she did not glance away. She locked with him, even as embarrassment and desire flushed her cheeks.

”I told you, ”She breathed, voice shaking. ”I want you.”

Leon didn’t hesitate. He took her lips again—this time, the kiss was harder, more possessive. His hands shifted with intention, tugging her back onto the bed. The way her legs spread around his hips was automatic—a welcome, a submission.

Their breathing was muddled together.

Their bodies seared, consumed by each other.

And the night... was just starting.
