Chapter 210: Crown of Blessings [Part -2]

Crown of Blessings [Part -2]

”Princess Lira,” he started, every word carefully, ”I give you, my blessing.”

His voice was suave, earthy, a heat under the chill metal of his demeanor.

”May you get what you are looking for in this life.

May your way be true, your heart not broken, and your soul free.

May your feet stay your own.

And may joy—true joy—never abandon you.”

The words were straightforward.

But his eyes... his eyes spoke a great deal more.

It was soft.

And warm.

And nearly. reverent.

Lira’s breath hitched in her throat. That look—so different from the one he’d been wearing before the court—carried something holy. Something intimate.

She remained motionless, the silky folds of her dress rustling against her ankles as she dipped her head, concealing the shiver of feeling beneath her lashes.

His voice was both strong and warm. Not the voice of a duke, but of a man who would guard what he cherished. And she sensed it—deeply, completely—that deep beneath his duke’s exterior, Leon was the sort of man hearts would wait an eternity for.

Her heart pounded.

She raised her chin, the moonlight hitting the shine of silver at her brow.

”Thank you... Duke Leon,” she said, her voice breathless but clear. ”Your blessing... means more than I can say.”

He smiled. Just faintly.

And nodded.

But in her heart, she whispered—

I hope your blessing comes true...

Because what I want in life... is you.

On the dais, Queen Sona’s smile grew thicker—no longer a queen’s, but a woman’s. A mother’s. For in the man who blessed her daughter stood the shadow of the man she once loved... maybe still loved. And seeing him now, blessing Lira with words that once rang in her own heart—it awakened something bittersweet and eternal.

Among the nobles, six beautiful women exchanged knowing smiles.

Rias. Aria. Cynthia. Syra. Kyra. Mia.

Each of them shining in their own way, and yet collectively, they comprised something even greater: a silent ring of knowing, of chosen love and quiet victory. Their faces contained no jealousy, only pride—as if observing the moment, a fresh light added to their constellation.

Syra bent forward, lips tilting with quiet amusement.

”Seems our little sister has already picked her path,” she breathed softly to Aria.

Aria’s gaze remained on Lira, contemplative.

”She’s bold,” she said quietly. ”And brave enough to go after what she desires.”

Rias grinned slowly, raising her eyebrows.

”Found her path, that’s certain. And with Daddy’s approval, no less,” she added playfully.

Syra let a small chuckle escape, but none of them sounded bitter.

Mia, still nervous in Leon’s company, looked at him before whispering,

Lira’s luck has always been ridiculous,” she whispered. ”She just... gets what she wants.”

They looked at each other—some with amusement, some with consideration.

Nobody wrote off Lira’s brazenness.

She hadn’t been taken, not yet—but the first move had been made, and that counted for something.

A quiet, unspoken curiosity awakened between them.

Each woman bore the recollection of her own initiation—of finding herself on the threshold of something unseen, waiting to be noticed.

Lira now occupied that space, shining and unafraid.

And though her arrival was unlooked for, her fearlessness was not unwanted.

Then the Master of Ceremonies moved to the courtyard.

”Her Highness has been blessed by her King and Queen, and the three Pillars of the kingdom.”

His voice rang now, sonorous and full of finality—like a bell marking the passage of an age.

”Now—traditionally—Her Highness the Princess will ask for the blessing of society. Of the nobles of Moonspire. Lords. Ladies. Stand with your Princess!”

Lira slowly turned, the fine hem of her dress rustling on the marble floor. Before her lay the vast ocean of nobility, glittering with silks and jewels, eyes upon her in anticipation.

She bowed—not low, but with regal dignity and unspoken strength, her voice firm as it sounded through the stillness:

”I, Lira Moonlight, request your blessing. I request not only loyalty... but faith.”

The world paused for a heartbeat.

Then—

”Lift your chin, Your Highness!” a voice from among the gathered lords exclaimed—bitter with pride and shaking with awe.

Another sounded, stronger, more clear—

”You are the pride of our kingdom!”

And then, as if a dam had burst, the wave collapsed.

”We give our blessing, Princess Lira! May your reign be long and glorious!”

A storm of voices arose in harmony, each one louder than the previous.

”We bless you, Princess Lira!”

”May your reign shine upon us!”

”May your future bring peace!”

The sound grew like a tide of silk and thunder, each shout merging into the next—hopeful, adoring, unstoppable.

Lira did not move, her heart pounding, her breath constricted in her throat. And then, slowly, with kingly elegance, she raised her chin. Not far enough to be defiant—but sufficiently high to indicate she had heard them all and taken on the burden of what they had to give.

The Master of Ceremonies advanced. With dignity, he lifted his ceremonial staff, its jeweled tip shimmering under the two moons.

”In the name of House Moonlight and all its forebears... I pronounce this Ceremony done.”

He faced the court, voice ringing like a last trumpet call.

”From this moment forward, Princess Lira Moonlight stands as Crown Princess of Moonspire—heiress to the Crescent Throne!”

Silence blanketed the courtyard. It was sudden. Breathless.

A beat elapsed.

Then—

The air rang with thunderous applause.

The courtyard erupted into life, voices exploding like fireworks.

”LONG LIVE CROWN PRINCESS LIRA!”

The call resounded across marble and silk, under chandelier and star. Dozens. Hundreds. All as one voice.

King Aurelian nodded solemnly.

Queen Sona, eyes shining, regarded her daughter in quiet pride.

Duke Edric’s eyes lingered a second too long—like a thought had flowered and refused to pass.

Nova nodded fractionally, her position subtly altering. Guarded now. Vigilant.

And Leon... smiled.

And thought:

So this is how it appears...

A princess wed in the lack of a male successor.

A course cut by convention—straight, unyielding.

The man who takes her... becomes King.

The old scheme floated through his head—cold, calculated. A throne won not in blood, but in union.

At one time, it had made sense.

But the kingdom balances on war now. That policy. no longer suffices.

Still— That does not mean she does not.

He’s already picked his legacy—one tempered in love, loyalty, and flame.

But the world moves like sand under moonlight.

If power knocks a second time. I will be prepared.

He glanced at Lira.

The silver of her hair reflected the lantern light, her expression calm with new purpose. She stood not as a girl this night—but as Moonstone’s future.

And if I take her hand. I don’t merely claim the crown.

I win a mother’s smile.

I bestow Rias and Mia with their pride. I hold my home intact.

A harem’s warmth... and a throne’s weight.

Why not both?

The Master of Ceremonies looked to the King one last time.

As if he had requested something.

The King gestured.

And so the man grinned and roared—his voice ringing through the breathless garden,

”Now, with ceremony over—LET THE ROYAL BANQUET BEGIN!”

The lanterns burst.

The music erupted.

The night... came alive.

Laughter broke like rain on marble. Goblets rang in festive cadence. Nobles spoke soft blessings, made vows, forged bonds with smiles that concealed deadly intent. The air grew thick with perfumes, secrets, and something much more powerful—ambition.

And then—the King stood from his throne.

Golden light wrapped his form as he stood, ageless in his presence. Queen Sona stepped after him with measured elegance, a living image of lunar loveliness by his side. They stood together, observing their court shine and awaken.

But underneath the applause, underneath the glint of crystal and enchantment, something changed.

Not everyone felt it.

Not everyone knew.

And yet—underneath the laughter, the applause, the ringing of goblets and whispered salutes—

Power had changed.

And in the corner of his mind.

Leon already saw the throne.
